What Next Kumaraswamy?
HD Kumaraswamy, the CM of JD(S)-Congress combine, is likely to have two deputies. Whilst one will be occupied by the Karnataka state Congress chief G Parameshwara, the other deputy is likely to be from the JD(S). However, the decision on having a second deputy CM is yet to be finalized. This is expected to be finalized during Kumaraswamy’s meeting with Sonia and Rahul Gandhi today in New Delhi.
It is learnt that Kumaraswamy alone would take oath as CM on Wednesday (May 23rd) and the rest of the cabinet would take its oath only after having the Confidence of Motion on Thursday (May 24th).
Since Congress won 78 seats whereas JD(S) got only 38, Congress is likely to have more portfolios in the cabinet. It is buzzed that Congress will get the lion’s share of the ministries i.e 20, whereas JD(S) would get 13 ministries. However, the portfolios are yet to be worked out.
Congress is expecting Home Ministry. And Kumaraswamy is contemplating to keep Finance Ministry with him.
Kumaraswamy To Visit Tirumala
The CM-designate Kumaraswamy will be visiting the Tirumala shrine and seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara before heading to New Delhi to meet Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
Interestingly, earlier, HD Deve Gowda had visited Tirumala on his birthday (May 18) during when the landmark Supreme Court verdict to conduct the Floor Test in 24 hours came. What followed next is a history as 2-day CM Yeddyurappa had resigned even before the Floor Test and admitted his failure to get the desired numbers.
Amidst this, Kumaraswamy’s visit to Tirumala gains much significance. JD(S) leaders and HD family is of the opinion that Lord Balaji’s blessings have helped Kumaraswamy in coming back to power against all odds i.e despite having won in only 38 seats. On the whole, the drama in Karnataka seems to have ended but it has pose a new challenge to Narendra Modi and Amit Shah-led BJP.
Her Predictions Turn Wrong
She is an yesteryear actress who has ventured into production joining hands with a star director who is also into production. Apparently, many have described her as “jinx” for the director as his films have been failing to create magic at the Box Office unlike before.
However, she said to be super confident on the result of the director’s recent film even before its result. In fact, she was waiting to prove to the world that she is not jinxed and they were all wrong. But in vain, the recently releases film of the director also bombed at the Box Office. In fact, the result this time is worse than his previous films.
With the shocking result of the film, she is said to be deeply disappointed. It is heard that the director has persuaded her and told her to move on. Looks like, the duo is going to have tough time ahead after a series of disasters.
Report: Pawan Kalyan Has Top Fake Followers On Twitter
In a shocking revelation by a Twitter audit tool, a leading English daily reported that Pawan Kalyan has topped the list of Fake Followers on Twitter. According to the report, Pawan has 13 Lakh Eighty Thousand and Seven Hundred Eighty real followers, whereas he allegedly have 15 Lakh, Eighty Two Thousand and Two Hundred Sixty Seven ‘Fake’ followers. The report estimated that only 46 percent followers of Pawan are real whereas the rest are said to be fake.
The Twitter Audit Tool audits all the Twitter followers and assesses them on the number of tweets, followers, mutual followers and other parameters. Based on this, the tool comes to the nearest conclusion. As per the audit tool, many politicians in India have a large number of ‘Fake’ followers. Last year, the audit tool showed that only 39 percent Twitter followers of Narendra Modi are real, whereas the 61 percent followers are fake.
Among the political leaders who are having most number of real Twitter followers, Sushma Swaraj from the BJP and KTR from the TRS have topped. As per the report, Union Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has 81 lakh, eighty thousand, four hundred and sixty original Twitter followers, whereas she has 35 lakh, Thirty Nine Thousand, Three Hundred and Ninety Seven ‘Fake’ followers. The audit tool said that KTR has 8 Lakh, Eighty One Thousand, Eight Hundred and Eighty Three real followers, whereas 3 Lakh, Eighty Five Thousand, One Hundred and Ninety ‘Fake’ followers.
The audit tool – not owned by Twitter – showed that AP’s Opposition leader YS Jagan has more real Twitter followers than AP CM Chandrababu Naidu. It also said AP IT Minister and Naidu’s son Nara Lokesh has only 50 percent real followers on Twitter.
On the whole, the statistics released by the audit tool is creating ripples among political circuits.
Writer-Novelist Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani No More
While the yesteryear generation might have been huge fans of this prominent writer, but the new generation has come to know her name as the original writer of A..Aa movie. Here is a sad news for all of her fans.
Popular writer and novelist Yaddanapudi Sulochana Rani has breathed her last at the age of 79 years. While spending her time at her daughter’s residence in Cupertino, California, USA, Yaddanapudi breathed her last other day due to heart stroke while sleeping. Born in 1940, she was an eminent writer from childhood onwards. In a recent interview, she told that upon huge encouragement from her husband post marriage, she became a novelist.
While most of her novels are superhits, some of them turned into movies and some became TV serials as well. She wrote stories for movies like Manushulu Mamathalu while her novels like Secretary, Radha Krishna, Agni Poolu and Bangarukalam turned into films. Known for her love stories, most of her novels like Meena (made as Meena film earlier, recently made as A..Aa) and Radha Madhu (made as TV serial) are super hits.
And the titles of her novels are also being used as titles for serials these days including that of Vennello Malika, Sravana Sameeralu, Mogalirekulu, Ee Taram Katha and others.
Puri’s Next Film is Finalized
After his attempt to launch son Akash – with a heavy subject of a love story laced with the theme of reincarnation – failed miserably at the Box Office, director Puri Jagannadh is gearing up to direct his immediate film with son again.
Inside information is that the film is going to have significance for martial arts. The film will be shot in the US and India. Recently, Puri and his team have flown down to the US during the premiere of Mehbooba. But we reliably learnt that the trip was originally planned to scout the locations for Puri’s immediate film with Akash.
However, Puri couldn’t scout the locations during his last trip to the US since he was flooded with messages from many of his well-wishers to return to India to promote the film as it is crucial for Mehbooba. Puri had to cut short his US trip and returned to India, only to see a huge debacle like Mehbooba.
Even after the result of Mehbooba, Puri is said to be keen on directing his next with Akash only. This film will also be produced by Puri on Puri Connects.
Modi Vs All in 2019?
After snatching power in Karnataka from Modi-Shah combine, Opposition now is making swift moves and said to be designing a super plan to oust Narendra Modi. In fact, the Opposition is seeking to use the Karnataka ploy for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Opposition heavyweights such as Chandrababu Naidu, Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav, KCR, Mayawati, Tejashwi Yadav, Sonia, Rahul Gandhi and several other opposition leaders across the nation are going to grace the swearing-in ceremony of Kumaraswamy on Wednesday (May 23rd) at Bengaluru. This is expected to be a crucial meet which is likely to set the agenda, tone for the United Opposition to oust Narendra Modi. Political analysts predict that all Opposition parties, keeping their differences aside, could unite to defeat Modi in 2019.
Congress and JD(S) who fought separately in Karnataka have ended up getting a fractured verdict. Mamata Banerjee had already opined that the result would have been very very different had Congress and JD(S) fought together. Many Opposition leaders too opine the same. Amidst this, it is widely speculated that Kumaraswamy’s oath taking ceremony could witness the origin for a Mega Grand Alliance to rout BJP in 2019 polls.
Opposition leaders from 12 major political parties covering 11 states constitute 349 Lok Sabha seats. This is certainly a very big number to stop Modi juggernaut in 2019. Looks like, Modi-Shah combine is going to have a very tough time ahead. Modi’s unilateral decisions have already earned him a lot of enemies. His friends/allies have turned into foes. NDA has weakened with allies leaving the camp one after the other.
Be it demonetisation or imposing GST or price rise or hike in fuel prices or non-fulfillment of poll promises (especially huge injustice meted out to AP) are all expected to haunt Modi in 2019. Unlike 2014 where he had a wave, he doesn’t enjoy a major support from public as well.
Even in the recent by-elections in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, BJP has lost miserably. Whilst Congress has beaten BJP with 3-0 in Rajasthan in the election year, SP-BSP combine has beaten BJP in Yogi Adityanath’s Uttar Pradesh, in fact the own parliament seats of Yogi Adityanath and his deputy CM were lost to SP-BSP.
Now, the Karnataka shadow is expected to be cast on Rajasthan where Assembly elections are going to held later this year. Since BJP had won all 25 Loksabha seats in Rajasthan in 2014, the result of Rajasthan Assembly elections this year will be seen as the verdict of 2019 Loksabha polls.
Earlier in the by-polls to the Mandalgarh Assembly and Ajmer and Alwar Lok Sabha constituencies, BJP lost all three seats to Congress. Taking responsibility, CM Vasundhara Raje’s loyalist Ashok Parnami has resigned. The Saffron party is yet to get substitute for Ashok and CM Vasundhara is said to be not comfortable with party senior leaders. All this is leading to a lot of infighting within Rajasthan BJP indicating a serious trouble for the party in the coming Assembly polls in Rajasthan. After losing Karnataka in South, if BJP loses in Rajasthan in North, it indicates a fall of Modi empire.
Considering all the above, united Opposition parties are pulling out all the stops to defeat Modi-Shah combine in 2019. The moot question is can Modi overcome this or will he fall.
Pawan Keeps Few Members in Core Team Aside!
Pawan Kalyan is said to be unhappy with a section of his core team members. Apparently, Pawan has distanced himself from a few people in his core team and is said to have formed another small and close group for his own. Even this small group is said to be accompanying Pawan in his Porata Yatra. Although couple of other members are there, apparently, Pawan is depending on his trusted people only.
Pawan himself said to be taking all the decisions related to party and policy issues not considering others in the party has become hot topic of discussion. Going forward, this is expected to have serious implications in party cadre in the long run.
However, the biggest strength of Pawan and Janasena are its hard-core fans who are carrying his ideology into public. Fans aka Jana Sainiks are said to be very clear and has been working without expecting positions in party or tickets in future. But a few among the leadership have expectations and that is said to be causing disturbances within the party.
As Pawan declared that he would be coming into power in 2019, it needs to be seen how will he manage to do it. Let’s wait and watch.
Revanth skins Cong yatra: What’s up?
Firebrand MLA from Kodangal and Telangana Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, who kicked up a storm in the party by expressing his resentment over the neglect by the party leadership, seems to have decided to call it quits to the party.
While almost all the party seniors are participating in the third phase of Praja Chaitanya Yatra being organised by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) for the last one week, Revanth was conspicuously missing in the yatra. He took part in earlier bus yatras of the TPCC.
Party sources said Revanth had not even informed the party leadership about his non-availability for the meetings. He reportedly told his followers that the TPCC had not extended any invitation to him to the yatra.
It is learnt Revanth is going on a holiday to the USA to avoid criticism and is presently busy with his attempts to get the visa.It is obvious that Revanth was upset with the attitude of the Congress seniors who have been ignoring him right from the beginning, as if he is a non-entity.
Apparently, the party leaders are irritated over his claims that he would not accept anything less than the CM post.Several senior Congress leaders lodged complaints with the high command on the attitude of Revanth and this irked the firebrand leader. With this he started to maintain some distance, sources said.
Revanth is terribly upset with the high command for not giving him any suitable post.He told the party leadership that he would lead the party’s campaign in the next elections and hence, he should be given at least Chairman of Campaign Committee.
However, though six months have passed after his joining of the Congress, the post was not offered.Revanth also planned to make State-wide Pada Yatra and sought the permission from the high command.
This request too was rejected by the high command of the party as other senior leaders also wanted permission for the same programme and he was told to confine his Pada Yatra to Mahbubnagar district.
