Firebrand MLA from Kodangal and Telangana Congress leader A Revanth Reddy, who kicked up a storm in the party by expressing his resentment over the neglect by the party leadership, seems to have decided to call it quits to the party.

While almost all the party seniors are participating in the third phase of Praja Chaitanya Yatra being organised by the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) for the last one week, Revanth was conspicuously missing in the yatra. He took part in earlier bus yatras of the TPCC.

Party sources said Revanth had not even informed the party leadership about his non-availability for the meetings.He reportedly told his followers that the TPCC had not extended any invitation to him to the yatra.

It is learnt Revanth is going on a holiday to the USA to avoid criticism and is presently busy with his attempts to get the visa.It is obvious that Revanth was upset with the attitude of the Congress seniors who have been ignoring him right from the beginning, as if he is a non-entity.

Apparently, the party leaders are irritated over his claims that he would not accept anything less than the CM post.Several senior Congress leaders lodged complaints with the high command on the attitude of Revanth and this irked the firebrand leader. With this he started to maintain some distance, sources said.

Revanth is terribly upset with the high command for not giving him any suitable post.He told the party leadership that he would lead the party’s campaign in the next elections and hence, he should be given at least Chairman of Campaign Committee.

However, though six months have passed after his joining of the Congress, the post was not offered.Revanth also planned to make State-wide Pada Yatra and sought the permission from the high command.

This request too was rejected by the high command of the party as other senior leaders also wanted permission for the same programme and he was told to confine his Pada Yatra to Mahbubnagar district.

For long the concept and topic of live-in relationships has been taboo in India but the times are changing with a number of women coming out in its support, according to a survey.

Inshorts, a news app, conducted a poll in the second week of May capturing the views of 1.4 lakh netizens — 80 per cent being in the age group of 18-35 years, read a statement.

According to the survey, more than 80 per cent millennials think that live-in relationships are still considered a taboo in Indian society while more than 47 per cent Indians are of the opinion that marriage is better when choosing between marriage and lifelong live-ins.

More than 80 per cent Indians said that they do support live-ins as a way of life. Out of these, 26 per cent millennials went a step ahead and said that they would choose lifelong live-ins as an option over marriages.

On the other hand, 86 per cent Indians are of the opinion that lust is not the sole reason behind live-ins and more than 45 per cent say that it is more of compatibility testing before marriage.

In the report, 45 per cent respondents have also said that since Indian society constantly judges unmarried couples staying together, any move by the judiciary to support this will not have any effect on their mindset.

Azhar Iqubal, CEO and Co-founder, Inshorts said: “Live-in relationships, even after being legally recognised by the government, is a forbidden subject of discussion in Indian households. Our current survey was focused on capturing the sentiments of our Indian youth on such delicate issues.”

Apparently, one mobile application (App) was behind the BJP’s historic failure in Karnataka. As per the reports, this mobile app – call recorder app – has played crucial role in capturing the audio tapes of BJP leaders offering bribe to opposition MLAs to switch sides to support Yeddyurappa.

Going into details, when Congress and JD(S) MLAs were housed in resort, the party said to have taken all their mobiles first and secretly installed this call recording app and handed over the mobiles to the respective MLAs. That’s when the big drama unfolded as many BJP leaders tried to reach out to the Congress and JD(S) MLAs and a few Congress MLAs too reportedly tried to get in touch with BJP leaders.

With solid proofs of audio conversations, Congress dropped the bombshell by leaking the tapes to media channels. This timely act of Congress has acted as a big shock to BJP who was already breaking its head on how to muster the desired numbers to sustain the government.

On one hand, BJP leaders claimed that it had support of 120 MLAs including 2 independents, on the other hand, it went onto lure the legislatures from Congress and JD(S) combine.

Be it Gali Janardhan Reddy or Sriramulu’s phone calls to Congress and JD(S) leaders or the phone conversations of Prakash Javadekar, Yeddyurappa and Muralidhara Rao, the call recordings between BJP’s senior leaders and the legislatures of Congress and JD(S) that were released by the Congress leaders have come as a huge shocker. This has damaged the image of the BJP – across the nation – to the core.

Alerted with this, apparently top leadership of RSS has directed Narendra Modi and Amit Shah to leave the Karnataka immediately as it would cause more damage in the long run especially ahead of 2019 polls. With serious orders from RSS, Narendra Modi and Amit Shah said to have asked Yeddyurappa whether he got the desired numbers to sustain the government when Yeddyurappa had admitted he couldn’t, they had told him to resign even before the Floor Test. That’s what followed by Yeddyurappa.

Thus, a mobile application used by the Congress has led to the BJP’s failure in Karnataka.

The swearing-in ceremony of Kumaraswamy has been postponed. Contrary to the initial plan of taking oath on May 21st (Monday), Kumaraswamy has decided to swear-in on May 23rd (Wednesday).

Later in the Saturday evening, Kumaraswamy said the swearing-in would be held on May 23 as May 21 happens to be the death anniversary of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, and therefore it would not be appropriate to hold the ceremony on that date.

Rajiv Gandhi was killed in a suicide bombing in Sriperumbudur, near Chennai, in 1991.

Since Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi have been invited for the swearing-in and expected their attendance, Kumaraswamy said to have deferred his swearing-in.

Meanwhile, Governor Vajubhai Vala has asked Kumaraswamy to prove his majority i.e to take the Floor Test in 15 days. However, Kumaraswamy wants to go for the Floor Test in much advance. Kumaraswamy is planning to move the Confidence of Motion on May 24 (Thursday), a day after his swearing-in.

On the other hand, fear is still among Congress and JD(S) camps. The MLAs of Congress and JD(S) have been housed in star hotels in Bengaluru and both the parties are keeping their flock intact till Kumaraswamy proves his majority in the Confidence of Motion. Till then, the MLAs of Congress and JD(S) are confined to the star hotels. Looks like, Congress and JD(S) are taking no chance to give way to BJP again.

Drawing comparisons with seasoned politician and CM Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan rued that he doesn’t have any comfort like Naidu who had joined TDP as general secretary and expanded the party. He said his political outfit Janasena is still under construction and he is building the organization.

However, Pawan said he will not built the party in a way that his critics, detractors want him to. He said he will build the party in his own way. Pawan said he doesn’t own a company like Heritage Foods (owned by Naidu’s family). He said all he has is the support of his fans, party workers.

Pawan has taken on TDP and Chandrababu mostly. Also, he attacked Opposition Jagan for staying away from Assembly sessions. Pawan said he regrets for not contesting as MLA in 2014 elections. He claimed that had he has 5 MLAs, he would have changed the whole scenario of present politics.

Pawan claimed that he would have brought solution to a problem like Uddanam by now had he has 5 MLAs in his hand. Pawan said he will not repeat such mistake in the next elections. He said he will contest in 2019 elections and reiterated that his party will field its candidates from all 175 Assembly constituencies.

Countering the allegations that he is supporting BJP, Pawan shot back saying, “Are they my relatives? Is BJP my relative?” Pawan went onto attack TDP and Chandrababu over the Special Category Status and Financial Assistance. Pawan said it was Janasena which had raised its voice first against BJP when it went back on the promise of Special Category Status.

Pawan said TDP had agreed for the Financial Package even before Janasena’s Kakinada meeting. He said it was TDP that had supported BJP all throughout but not Pawan Kalyan or Janasena. Pawan also attacked TDP saying it is dividing people based on castes. He said Janasena party has no castes and it unites people cutting across castes.

On the whole, Pawan positioned Janasena Party as pro-people’s party and said it is not favour of any political party.
