Watch 2 Countries Movie Team Exclusive Interview
2 Countries Movie Review
Sunil has been going through the worst phase in his career. None of his movies have excited the audiences recently. His latest film “Two Countries” too released amidst low expectations. Does this film have the right material to revive his career?Let’s find out.
Story:
Ullas (Sunil) believes in only one thing — money. He agrees to marry a disabled girl as she is rich. However, he changes his mind when he learns that parents of his childhood friend Laya (Manisha Raj) are looking for an alliance.
After knowing that she earns $10k per month in the US, he marries Laya. Twist in the tale is that she is an alcohol addict. How the life of Ullas and Laya takes a turn in the US forms the rest of the story.
Artistes’ Performances:
Sunil is not in shape (physically) and he’s out of form (acting-wise).
Newcomer Manisha Raj has good looks but she is too inexperienced to play the alcohol addict that was originally played by Mamta Mohandas.
Srinivas Reddy has provided some good laughs. Prudhvi as cab driver in USA is okay.
Siva Reddy as marriage-broker is funny. Shayaji Shinde, Sithara, Raja Ravindra, Dev Gill and others have done routine acting.
Technical Excellence:
The film is mostly shot in USA. The locations of Tampa are captured beautifully. Cinematography and production values are the best part of this movie. However, other technicians have dished out terrible output.
The songs are bad. Dialogues are outdated with full of mindless rhyming sentences. Editor seems to have slept while editing it.
Highlights:
- Nothing much
Drawbacks:
- Music
- Dialogues
- Narration
Analysis :
With Sunil giving a series of flops, no one had any expectations on this movie. If director N Shankar had made the movie for a few laughs, he would have got a decent hit. But the director loses grip on narration at the very beginning of the story.
The film happens to be a remake of Dileep and Mamta Mohandas starrer Malayalam blockbuster “Two Countries”. The story of the original movie is too corny and neither the writer Sreedhar Seepana nor director N Shankar have tried to better it.
All we get to see is Sunil imitating other stars and uttering dialogues in different ways to generate some laughs. However, not a single joke or dialogue brings at least a smile. The writing is insipid. The scenes are straight out of ’80s and ’90s movies.
There is a scene in the movie wherein Sunil contests the polls with the symbol of a frog. By the end of first half, audiences are bound to utter — What the Frog!
Post-interval, the movie offers some watchable moments but it soon drifts into ‘what the frog’ zone again. The hero’s name is Ullas but there is no ullasam in the film.Scenes are quite silly. Acting is loud and stage-like. There is no proper editing either.
N Shankar has some good movies like “Sri Ramulayya”, “Encounter” and “Bhadrachalam”. The name that he had earned will surely be lost with this.
To top it all, he totally seems out of sync with the current trends in narration and direction.A lot of farce happens in the name of comedy. All in all, this is another Sunil’s movie that gives headache to the viewers, totally avoidable.
Bottom-line: Big Bore!
DJ Banned, But Pawan’s Song Isn’t
New Year Eve is around the corner and youths are getting ready to let their guard down to welcome 2018. But rules and restrictions are laid strictly to stop them from crossing the limits.
One such big rule youths are going face this time is the ban on DJ systems. Not every party could now install a DJ, heavy-watt sound system and chill in the air with lovely music. With the ban of DJs, many youths are said to be planning for interesting kitty parties, where they will assemble at one of their friend’s apartments and chill out with home music systems.
Cut to Pawan’s song, we have “Kodaka Koteswara raao” song scheduled for a release on December 31st evening at 6’o clock. That makes everyone listen to this peppy number crooned by Powerstar in their parties for sure. Whether DJs are there or not, parties are not going to miss out this song, says music lovers.
Almost all the newest films are also done with their releases, so people are looking forward to parties and fantastic music as well. We have to see if any other music will join Pawan’s song to swing its wave at these gatherings.
Very Sexy Heroine, But Not-So Exciting Roles
After coming up with that bikini shoot where she posed very seductively, curly haired siren Seerat Kapoor became a talk of the town. In no time, she’s flooded with offers from film circles and signed nearly 3-4 movies.
When this Run Raja Run starlet came up with Raju Gardi Gadhi 2, other than pouring her tempting glamour on the screen her role isn’t given any substance. And now in Okka Kshanam also, she’s picked for a role that could be well handled, but she got herself limited to looking saucy.
For now, we have to say that Seerat is a very sexy heroine but picking up either not-so-exciting roles or not performing up to the demand of the role. Currently, she has films like Touch Chesi Choodu, Kshanam director Ravikanth’s movie and writer Sreedhar Seepana’s debut directorial venture in hands. Hope she comes up with flying colours with these movies.
On the flip side, Seerat is being rated as the best sexiest starlet so far Tollywood has seen for her hot looks and dance moves.
Babu Backstabs Chiru in Sye Raa!
After revealing that Tamil star hero Vijay Sethupathi will essay Megastar Chiranjeevi’s confidante, Obayya in ‘Sye Raa’, here we are again to reveal the character that backstabs him.
Although it is the British govt. that sentences Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy to death by hanging, its the character to be essayed by Jagapathi Babu that helps the Britishers capture him. We have learnt that Jaggu Bhai is essaying the negative character in Sye Raa and that he schemes the capture of Narasimha Reddy.
Babu had first turned to villainy with Balayya’s “Legend”, and he is now playing villain character in Megastar’s “Sye Raa”.

City police are giving serious instructions to the party organizers and youth. Clear orders have come from the top that anyone who uses, promotes drugs in events would be immediately taken into custody and would be punished seriously.
Besides event organizers, the party goers should also be cautious given serious instructions from cops.
Ranga’s Story Bigger Than Baahubali’s!
With mighty characters and equally powerful emotions, Baahubali stands tall as an epic. An actor-filmmaker has now announced that his new project will be mightier than ‘Baahubali’, in terms of story and emotions.
Telugu actor-filmmaker GV Sudhakar Naidu, better known as GV, has announced that he would make a biopic on Vangaveeti Ranga. It wouldn’t be a film but a web series containing 150-170 episodes, he claimed.
Speaking on the sidelines of garlanding Vangaveeti Ranga’s statue in Vijayawada on the eve of his 29th death anniversary, GV said that late legendary filmmaker Dasari Narayana Rao wanted to make a biopic on Ranga but that he dropped the idea feeling that his life story can’t be shown in under three hours. GV said that he would hence make a web series instead. He claimed Ranga’s life story will be bigger than Baahubali’s.
