Thumping popularity as talented film actor in five states, well known face even for the Bollywood audience, proficient speaker in six languages, voracious reader, prolific writer, caretaker of Kondareddypalli village in Telangana State and last but not the least 2.2 Million followers on twitter- this forms the gigantic image of Prakash Raj.

Right now, Prakash Raj is more famous for representing the politics in his birth state Karnataka.

He has first made bold open statements earlier, lamenting about the death of writer Gowri Lankesh who was allegedly assassinated by right fundamentalists. Since then, his tongue turned more sharper against BJP and his fingers never relaxed from tweeting against the politics in BJP ruled states. He has an agenda for sure and that seems to see BJP-Mukt Bharat.

Why did he develop hatred on right fundamentalists? Is it only because of the assassination of his dear friend Gowri? Some insiders say that there is something more to this. They say, Karnataka is a state where the atheistic and humanist literature was flourished and patronized more than that of many other states. Prakash Raj’s exposure to such literature, the concerned writers and their influence on him formed his political ideology.

On a whole, he made a firm impact in Karnataka politics with his recent campaigning, in a far better way than what Kamala Hassan and Rajni Kanth have made in Tamilnadu so far.

One may be liked by some and disliked by many, but he needs to take a path irrespective of looking behind to know how many are following him. Prakash Raj seems to be moving with such conviction and that makes him a stronger leader down the line.

Praise him or criticize him, but one has to admit the fact that Chandrababu Naidu is one of the most hard-working chief ministers of India today. At 68, Naidu puts himself to a lot of physical and mental strain. Besides being a good administrator, Naidu is also the trouble-shooter who is very good at disaster management. Below are a few incidents which demonstrated Naidu’s dedication and commitment.

The boat tragedy in Manturu of Devipatnam is another such example that illustrates Naidu’s disaster management skill. CM Chandrababu not just personally visited and monitored the operations of NDRF (National Disaster Response Force), he made sure the works are done at fast pace. Yes, it was a tragedy which claimed many lives,  but Naidu’s efforts to reach out to a very distant location in Devipatnam of East Godavari district deserves a pat on his back. A CM need not personally visit the site. But Naidu did it. He has instructed officials for swift measures and even announced 10 Lakh ex-gratia to each deceased member’s family. No doubt, this can’t bring back one life, but at least this could help the bereaved families to an extent when they lost their family member. But in the whole incident, Naidu’s dedication towards people is what makes him a different CM from the rest of the Chief Ministers today.

Even the Dachepalli incident shown Naidu’s commitment against crimes on women, children. He not just ensured a swift inquiry, but deployed so many forces to resolve the case. He personally visited victim, her family and assured all sort of aid. Chandrababu promised the parents of 9-yr-old rape victim that he would personally sponsor her education throughout from his own earnings. Be it in Kathua or Unnao which saw a national outrage, none of the CMs of the respective states did try to meet victim or victim’s family. Whereas, Chandrababu is a committed leader who did it. He even participated in an awareness rally sending strong signals to men who would involve in assaults against women, children.

When massive cyclone Hudhud had hit Vizag in 2014, the port city was left battered and bruised which cause huge financial loss besides loss of lives. Risking his life, CM Naidu rushed to Vizag, stayed there in a bus and saw to it the relief measures are taken. In record time, he got the city back on its feet. CBN turned Vizag into one of the cleanest cities in India in just a year.

No doubt, Naidu government has its own shortcomings and mired in a lot of issues. But one must admit that Chandrababu is a hard-working CM. The best part of him is that he never gives scope to his opposition parties to take on him and he makes sure the work is done even before Opposition parties respond. In that way, Naidu is making opposition leaders jobless.

Even as political pundits and legal experts are breaking their heads over the developments in Karnataka and Governor Vajubhai’s decision to invite Yeddyurappa as the CM, Pawan Kalyan’s fresh comments come as a huge surprise to many rational people as his remarks defy logic.

Claiming that he is aware of this much before, Pawan said he knew that BJP would come to power in Karnataka. What’s more? Further to his claim, Pawan said BJP would come to power in Karnataka even if it had got just 85 seats and JD(S) got 40 seats. This is certainly a shocking analysis from PK.

Pawan said he had come to this understanding after speaking to his “sources” in Karnataka who told him that BJP would come to power in the state. He said the above example of 85 for BJP and 40 for JD(S) was given by them.

When media asked Pawan whether this is right or wrong, Pawan passed the buck by generalising, “everyone has mistakes.” He added saying the democratic practices have been diluted over the decades and said that what is happening Karnataka is another example. Janasena chief said, “Not only BJP, TDP and YSRCP also doing this.” He concluded saying he would want to put an end to this horse-trading of MLAs and want to end such politics.

Janasena Porata Yatra From May 20

Meanwhile, Pawan announced his Bus Yatra titled as ‘Janasena Porata Yatra’ which will begin from 20th of this month. He is beginning the yatra from Ichapuram in Srikakulam and will continue it for 45 days.

Surprisingly, in a word, Pawan expressed his angst against Centre saying it is unfortunate that the Centre didn’t keep its promise of the Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and other promises. He said the Uttarandhra was not developed and expressed his sad over its under development.

In a landmark verdict in sensational case of political crisis in Karnataka, Supreme Court has ordered for Floor Test of Karnataka Assembly Tomorrow (Saturday). SC ordered to conduct the test on Saturday at 4 PM.

Abhishek Singhvi, representing Congress and JD(S), told the justices that Congress-JD(S) is ready for Floor Test tomorrow. Whereas senior advocate, representing BJP, requested for 1 week time. However, the bench of Justices AK Sikri, SA Bobde and Ashok Bhushan have declared for conducting Floor Test tomorrow considering the urgency in the issue.

The Supreme Court directed Karnataka state DGP to provide full security to all elected legislators to safely reach the Assembly and participate in voting in the Floor Test freely as per their wish. Floor Test shouldn’t be conducted via secret ballot, said the apex court in its judgement.

In a shocking comparison, US President Donald Trump referred some migrants to “animals”. He made the remarks on Wednesday (May 16) during his charged discussion with California Republicans visiting the White House about the topic’Border Wall and Law Enforcement’

“We have people coming in to the country, or trying to come in. We are taking people out of the country. You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are, these aren’t people, these are animals and we’re taking them out of the country.”

His ‘animal’ remarks came after his comments on migration and law enforcement, so-called “sanctuary cities” for immigrants, and the MS-13 gang. Trump, who has often combined the gang with immigrants into one in general, has painted members of MS13 as “vicious” and “killers”.

Trump’s comment was immediately condemned by Democrats. “Immigrants are human beings. Not animals, not criminals, not drug dealers, not rapists. They are human beings,” said Colorado Congressman Jared Polis.

California Governor Jerry Brown said “Trump is lying on immigration, lying about crime and lying about the laws of California. Flying in a dozen Republican politicians to flatter him and praise his reckless policies changes nothing. We, the citizens of the fifth largest economy in the world, are not impressed.”

An youth threw ink at Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar when the latter is taking part in a public event. The incident created a commotion and exposed police failure in providing security to political leaders.

The alerted Security personnel of the Chief Minister took the youth into preventive custody and handed over to local cops. Most of the ink fell on security staff. The CM Face and hair was also covered with ink.

The CM Khattar pulled out a handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the ink off. After the arrest, the youth raised slogans and claimed he was an activist of the Indian National Lok Dal party.

Karnataka’s Congress MLAs, who were supposed to fly to Kochi last night, have changed their plan last minute and shifted to Hyderabad in a luxury bus that was escorted by two other buses. Total three buses from Karnataka have reached Hyderabad via Kurnool amidst tight security. According to reports, 74 Congress legislators, including two women MLAs, have been brought to Hyderabad.

After initially mulling to stay at Park Hyatt, for security reasons, all the Congress MLAs have been later shifted in Taj Krishna where they are currently staying. It is learned that mobile phones of the MLAs have been taken away and they are unavailable for communication in order to avoid horse-trading or poaching from BJP leaders who are short of at least 7 MLAs.

Meanwhile, the JD(S) MLAs have also shifted to Hyderabad. JD(S) MLAs have been boarded in Novotel. JD(S) MLAs arrived in Hyderabad after Kumaraswamy spoke to Telangana CM KCR seeking his help and KCR reportedly offered him to provide shelter to his MLAs in Hyderabad, the city of pearls.

Congress and JD(S) have moved the Supreme Court challenging governor’s decision to invite Yeddyurappa as the CM despite not having the required numbers to form the government. Unlike in Goa, Manipur and Meghalaya where post-poll alliances have been invited to form the government by those respective Governors, Karnataka Governor has not followed the precedents.
