A major progress has been made towards the making of ‘Ramayana’, producer Allu Aravind’s dream project and India’s most expensive film.

Madhu Mantena, one of the producers of ‘Ramayana’, revealed that they had signed an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Uttar Pradesh government’s cinema arm Film Bandhu to make the Rs 500 Cr mythological spectacle in the state. The Chairman of Film Bandhu said that the UP govt. will fully support the efforts of making Ramayana in their state.

Ramayana is envisioned as a project that retells the story of Lord Rama to all generations with the help of the latest technology and visual effects. The magnum opus will be shot in 3D and released as a three-part series in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

At present, discussions are being held to finalize cast and crew.

At last, here is the full stop to the rumors regarding the music director of NTR-Trivikram film. The chosen composer himself has confirmed hopping on board this highly expected project.

Thaman SS, who has received immense acclaim for his recent works such as Bhaagamathie and Tholi Prema, has said that it was a dream come true for him to score music for NTR-Trivikram combo. He added that Trivikram had prepared an excellent script and that he couldn’t wait to live up to the expectations. ‘I have already begun work on the film,’ an elated Thaman said.

The names of Anirudh and Devi Sri Prasad did rounds as the frontrunners but it was Thaman who walked away with the cake in the end. NTR-Trivikram project is the first Trivikram directorial for which Thaman will be scoring music. He also scored music for Trivikram’s joint co-production venture, ‘Chal Mohan Ranga’.

Pakistani actress Mahira Khan of “Raees” fame has become the talk of the town again. A video from the 17th Lux Awards Function has gone viral on social media. The video features Mahira Khan and Javed Sheikh and the latter forcefully tried to kiss the actress on her cheek.

Mahira travelled a long way from Pakistan and debuted into Bollywood with Shahrukh Khan’s Raees movie. Despite the flop talk, the actress became a star in North. With the link up rumours with Ranbir Kapoor, the beauty grabbed the curiosity of the audience. And now it is the video of her that created the ripples. Apparently, Mahira won the Best Actress award for her performance in 2017 hit film Verna. Everything was fine until the actress went on the stage to collect her award.

She took the award but tried to look away when Javed tried to kiss her on the cheek. This awkward moment hasn’t missed the eyes of cameras. Irrfan Khan has always been an exceptional actor who never disappoints the audience with his choice of script selection. Just like most of his films, Irrfan is playing the role of a common man in his upcoming movie “Blackmail” as well. Though the teaser hasn’t revealed much about the plot, the recently released trailer has given a glimpse of it. In the 2-minute trailer video, Irrfan as Dev narrates the story of his wife who is cheating on him with another guy. Instead of killing either the lover or wife, Dev comes up with a new plan of ‘blackmail’ing her as a part of his revenge.

Everything was fine for some time but the sudden twist in the plot makes him sleepless. The twist is a co-worker of Dev gets to know about his deeds and starts blackmailing him in contrary. Who wins this game at the end is to be known after watching the film which is all set to hit the theatres on April 6th.

From sometime, hero Nani is said to be picking those ‘safe’ projects that will work at box office big time. If we look at films like Majnu, Ninnu Kori, Nenu Local and MCA, definitely we have to say that he’s playing a safe game by choosing routine stories laced with commercial ingredients especially comedy and sentiments.

Recently Nani has chosen to work with Nenu Sailaja fame director Kishore Tirumala. After wasting some time on a project with Venkatesh, Kishore breathed a relief for getting Nani onboard for a fresh project that is tentatively titled “Chitralahari”. But after wrapping his recent films, we hear that Nani went back on his word and decided not to do the film as he felt that subject is not fresh.

And when Kishore Tirumala narrated the same story to mega hero Sai Dharam Tej, the mega hero liked it immediately and now he’s doing this Chitralahari. Wonder why a script that doesn’t give fresh feelings to Nani has given the same to Mega Menalludu?

Insiders say that with Nani continuously doing family subjects with love and relationships taking centre stage, he didn’t felt Kishore Tirumala’s film any new. But for Sai Dharam who is merged neck deep into mass movies, this subject ultimately sounds fresh and new only. Hope the film gives respite to Mega hero at the box office.

Right now an interesting discussion is happening in film circles with Allu Arjun’s Naa Peru Surya moving to May 4th. Some analysts even described this as a bad move due to the theatres issue Bunny has to face. What is trade circle saying about this?

With Bharat Anu Nenu arriving on April 20th, Kala set for April 27th release and Naa Peru Surya coming on May 4th, some say that if both Mahesh and Rajni’s films end up as super hits, then it will be tough for Allu Arjun to get theatres from them. Is that really a scare Naa Peru Surya team should think about?

Trade sources are commenting, “He’s not some ordinary hero, he’s Allu Arjun, S/o Allu Arvind. They have almost 700+ theatres in hand with full on leases in Andhra and Telangana. And many other theatres are there in their control with Dil Raju and Suresh Babu being their good friends. It is producers like DVV Danayya (BAN) and Kala’s Telugu release planners who should really worry. Because Allu Arvind can bag 2000 theatres overnight with his influence”.

For now, it looks like there will not be any theatre sharing issue as Allu Arvind already jumped into the scene to get agreements with many theatres for May 4th release of Naa Peru Surya. It is heard that already many agreed to screen the film from 4th for three weeks, no matter what will be the result of Bharat Anu Nenu and Kaala. That’s the other angle folks!!

100 plus film-old-actor Srikanth’s first ever Horror film, ‘Ra Ra’, is all set to hit screens tomorrow, on Feb 23. The veteran hero claims that his film is very different from the pile of horror films that have been made in Tollywood in the last couple of years.

Going by his character in the film and one-line story, Srikanth may be largely correct in calling his film unique.

The actor plays the role of a film director in ‘Ra Ra’. ‘Vexed by the continuous flops, the director decides to make a horror film. And, in an interesting turn of events, he goes on to make a horror film with not actors but ‘real ghosts’. He even falls in love with a ghost,’ Srikanth described his character in Ra Ra.

It needs to be seen whether this quirky story gives Srikanth a hit in the fag end of his career as a protagonist.

Model, VJ and wife of Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan, Malaika Arora Khan, has made shocking remarks against Namrata Shirodkar in a popular talk show ‘BFFs with Vogue’ hosted by Neha Dhupia. Malaika who was accompanied by her sister Amrita Arora made some remarks against Namrata during the show. In the candid talk-show, when Malaika was asked to name a person who has been “mean” to her in her life, her reply has come as a shocker to many.

Malaika has named Namrata Shirodkar and Mehr Jessia (Super model in 90s and Arjun Rampal’s wife) as the two persons. She said that during her career starting as a model, senior models Namrata and Mehr “behaved” “roughly” with her. Malaika said that Namrata along with her friends “ganged up” on her. However, Malaika clarified that Namrata, Mehr were not “mean” to her but only “ganged up” on her. She added that she later became friends with Namrata and Mehr who are now treating her well.

Meanwhile, Malaika has “advised” Kareena Kapoor Khan to “stop gossiping”. Malaika Arora Khan, who is married to Salman Khan’s brother Arbaaz Khan, has been going through rough weathers as some differences surface between the duo.

However, in the talk show, Malaika’s sister Amrita has referred to Malaika as Malaika Arora Khan – stressing on Khan – giving rise to speculations of ‘patch up’ with husband Arbaaz Khan. Arbaaz Khan who is a popular actor, director, producer has directed Dabangg 2 with Salman Khan. He also acted in Telugu films such as Jai Chiranjeeva.

According to the latest buzz, noted producer Prasad V Potluri, better known as PVP, is lobbying for YSRCP’s ticket for Vijayawada MP seat.

Despite being a successful businessman and film producer, PVP has the desire of becoming a politician. In 2014 elections, he wanted to get Vijayawada MP ticket from TDP with the recommendation of Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, but the latter allegedly refused to seek anything in return from Chandrababu Naidu for his support.

A disappointed PVP, who had been with Pawan since the genesis of Jana Sena, cut off all ties with him and his party. The desire of entering politics has still been there.

The latest reports suggest that PVP is trying his best to get MP ticket from YSRCP. Reports further say that he has offered a huge donation for the party if he is given MP ticket. The discussions are still on and party chief YS Jagan is expected to take a decision after the completion of his Padayathra.

Meanwhile, he is yet to announce his new project. The last film from PVP Cinema is Raju Gari Gadhi 2. He is said to be concentrating primarily on politics and hence the inactivity on film front.

We have already reported that young hero Sharwanand would be sporting two different looks in his new film that is being directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. Set against Army backdrop, the film shows two different phases in the protagonist’s life.

The first look is of a youngster in his early 20s. It is a a lively and stylish character which sports ponytail haircut. Sharwa has reportedly shed 10 kilos to play the youthful character in this romantic comedy. The second look is of a man in his 40s, an Army officer.

Despite the Army backdrop, the film will be pleasant and humorous in tone, unlike the intense films Hanu has made. ‘Fidaa’ and ‘MCA’ actress Sai Pallavi is playing the female lead. Her character will be vibrant and fun-filled.

The film’s regular shooting kickstarted earlier this month in Kolkata. Major part of the shoot will happen in Nepal. Not many Telugu films have been made against Army backdrop so the set up itself is an attention drawing element in the film.
