Early Polls? 2018 to have General Elections?

Share

Monday (Jan 29) was a busy day with several significant political developments. Most importantly, it witnessed the issue of having early polls in 2018. President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi have opined to have simultaneous polls for Assemblies and Parliament.

This has triggered the speculations that general elections for Lok Sabha, which is scheduled to take place in 2019, may be advanced for 2018.

In his address to the joint sitting of Parliament on Monday, President Ram Nath Kovind has made a pitch to conduct simultaneous polls to the Assemblies and Parliament. Later Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also opined the same at a meeting of NDA leaders.

According to reports, Modi said to have asked NDA leaders to take up the issue in a positive way and wanted them to promote it positively to create a ‘positive atmosphere’ around early polls. He reportedly told that frequent elections could be a halt to progress and it is also a financial burden to public exchequer.

However, in reality, it is highly unlikely to conduct simultaneous polls for Assemblies and Lok Sabha across the country as several states have different terms of offices for their governments.

Whereas, Modi and NDA could plan for early polls in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Odisha (formerly Orissa) and three other northern states. If all the incumbent state governments agree to the same, early polls are likely to take place in 2018 itself.

All the time, whenever her film hits screens, Deepika Padukone will be seen around posing in bikinis for magazine covers. In the recent times, we have noticed this hottie slipping into single pieces many times. Here comes the feat yet again.

Posing for the February 2018 issue of Vogue India, the ‘Padmavati’ star once again donned the bikini to the perfection. This time she has used bikini as a layered garment with coats, jackets, corsets and fashion pieces covering it. Projecting herself like a ravishing hottie in red, Deepika says, “I’m not caged anymore”.

At a time when her controversial film is in debate for the exposed waist where the director got it covered through visual effects, her display of curves in seducing poses for a magazine shoot is a simply daring act. Can you take your eyes off those pics?

No Release Yet, She Grabs Third Film?

Share

One big launch, then you’re there forever. That’s how it works out in the case of some heroines. It seems like pretty faced Kiara Advani, who has shot to popularity with MS Dhoni biopic, is now going through a similar phase in Tollywood right now.

Getting ready to make her Tollywood debut with Super Star Mahesh’s upcoming political thriller ‘Bharath Ane Nenu’, she already grabbed another big film. The movie that is coming out in the high-voltage combination of Ram Charan and Boyapati Srinu got Kiara onboard. Without even her frist film film hitting the screens, this is a huge offer for her in fact.

As per the latest buzz, she’s said to have grabbed yet another project as Natural Star Nani is also keen on roping her. It seems like the producers of Nagarjuna-Nani has approached Kiara and the actress is yet to take a decision on it. If everything goes well we might be seeing Nani romance this Bollywood lady. Seems like Kiara Advani entered Tollywood at the right time and is following her fellow actresses like Pooja Hedge and Anu Emmanuel in grabbing big projects.

Well, initial 2-3 projects are okay but what matters there after is how she projects herself and scores a hit at box office. Can she be another super star in case if she gets chance to join Natural Star’s camp as well? Let’s see.

Charan Lays ‘Outsider’ Condition To Puri Jagan?

Share

Director Puri Jagan’s track record isn’t getting set no matter which hero gives him dates these days. Lame stories and outdated ideas are hampering all the good work he has done in the past.

A report is doing rounds that recently Puri Jagan approached Ram Charan with a new story. After directing the mega power star’s debut flick, this dashing director hasn’t ever got a chance to direct his second with him. But like a Mahesh’s Jana Gana Mana, this script hasn’t got a straight approval from the mega camp.

We hear that Charan has laid the condition of ‘outsider’ in order for Puri Jagan to direct him again. Outsider in the sense, the mega hero wants a story written by someone else rather than Puri’s own, a source shared. In the recent times, when Puri directed Vakkantam’s Temper, he scored the big hit but otherwise, all of his films ended with a similar result.

Will Puri Jagan accept the conditions and gets ready to work with Ram Charan? With another movie featuring Venkatesh in the pipeline after his son’s Mehbooba, the dashing director might take some time to think about this.

Dil Raju’s Confidence; Repeats Flop Combo?

Share

Dil Raju is inarguably the most happening producer in the Telugu film industry. 2017 especially can be called a landmark year in his career. Even his critically panned production venture, “MCA” minted money at box office, partly because of his midas touch. With the immense conviction he has on his judgement, which has proved correct more often than not, Dil Raju is now setting up a combo, which had delivered a flop in its last attempt.

As per the latest reports, Dil Raju has roped in Malayali beauty Anupama Parameswaran to romance Ram in his new production venture. It is known that Ram romanced Anupama in his last release, ‘Vunnadi Okate Zindagi’, which failed at box office. Most producers wouldn’t dare to cast the two actors together, at least not so early after a flop, but Dil Raju seems to be unfazed by this flop sentiment.

Besides the great looking chemistry of Ram and Anupama, the other factor that influenced Dil Raju to rope in Anupama could be that she played the female lead in his national award winning film, Shathamanam Bhavathi.

To be directed by Trinadharao Nakkina of ‘Nenu Local’ fame, the untitled film will have Prakash Raj in a key role, and will go on floors next month.

Disappointed By Pawan, Director Goes Back To Chennai

Share

For the sake of Pawan Kalyan’s nod, nearly three directors are said to be literally waiting for a time. While everyone expected that he will be okaying their story and allots dates after Agnyaathavasi release, things took a drastic turn.

With the Janasena president confirming that movies are not on his mind anymore now, it is understood that he’s taking that long pause from Tollywood to continue his political journey. Whether this is a permanent break or temporary break, those who are waiting for him are said to have got disappointed.

We have the likes of Tamil director RT Neason who is waiting for Pawan Kalyan listen to his script. From last six months, this director is staying in Hyderabad, working on Veeram Telugu version first and a new script after Pawan rejected that remake. Now that he got clarity that Pawan will not be doing his film under AM Ratnam’s banner anytime soon, he has flown to Chennai other day. After nearly six months of stay in Hyderabad, he’s said to have got upset with Powerstar simple ignoring his film.

Meanwhile, Neason has the option of directing his own “Jilla” remake in Telugu or he might do a new film altogether in Tamil.

PK Effect! Kodandaram Steps Back

Share

Telangana JAC leader M Kodandaram has put his plan to float a new political party in cold storage for a while. Under the pressure from Congress, TDP and left party leaders, the JAC leader gave up the idea of formation of his own political organization.

Kodandaram has come out with a plan of action to foray into active politics by transforming JAC as a political party in February. He is planning to emerge as an alternative to Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the state politics.

The other parties which are maintaining friendly relation with Kodandaram and JAC conducted a survey on the impact of new party on KCR leadership. The survey made it clear that TRS will gain political benefit if Kodandaram’s Party contested in 2019 elections.

The leaders said splitting and sharing of the votes by more number of parties will help TRS to win more number of seats. Congress, TDP and left parties are already planning to field candidates in all Assembly segments. Jana Sena leader Pawan Kalyan also indicated his party will test the waters.

If Kodandaram also contest the election, TRS will get more advantage in the multi polar contest. The JAC leader will take a decision on floating the party only after the political developments take place infavaour of them.

Is ‘Andhra Party’ Being Planned In Telangana?

Share

It is a different thing for people from Andhra region who have settled in Hyderabad before the state was divided. After bifurcation, slowly the feeling of living in Telangana state has sunken and everyone started choosing among their favourite leaders when it comes to politics.

Though many thought that Telugudesam party would be a place for Andhraites in Telangana region, the T-TDP sank without trace in the recent times. The likes of Congress and BJP also became pro-Telangana parties with almost zero representation from Andhra based cadre in the parties. So naturally Andhra people in Hyderabad has to pick someone from the above and many voted for KCR led TRS in GHMC elections.

Analysing this situation, we hear that few biggies who are moved by the information that 50% taxes paid in Hyderabad are from Andhraites are urging some leaders to start a special Andhra Party. Cutting away from all other political outfits, if a special party is established for Andhra settlers in Hyderabad, then slowly Andhraites in other regions like Nizamabad and Khammam might chip into it, is what they say.

Who would lead such Andhra Party? Which Andhra-based leader in Hyderabad has such charisma to unite all other andhraites under one single roof? Will it be like those Telugu leaders in Chennai who still speak broken Telugu in Tamilnadu assembly for the Telugu community settled there?

Let’s see if 2019 election will see any new surprises, like a new party for Andhra settlers. Starting a political party in the name of caste, creed, or a community is not new in India, so this party will also become reality easily. But will they vote it to power at least for a couple of MLA seats in case if it forms, is what we have to watch.
