Raashi Khanna has lost oodles of weight. Known for her chubby looks, she has now become quite slim and the new avataar can be seen in her upcoming releases ‘Touch Chesi Chudu’ and ‘Tholi Prema’.

She says she lost weight after people were constantly talking about her appearance than her acting skills.

“Even critics have started writing about my weight in movie reviews. So I took it up as a challenge and lost weight,” she told media persons. How did she lose so much in such a short time? Did she go for liposuction?

“I have changed my diet first. Then hit the gym. It was rigorous fitness training. If you remember, I did post many photos on social media while I was going through this fitness drill,” she said. Thus she puts an end to speculations about her new appearance.

Buoyed by the “success” and response to his first adult film called “God, Sex and Truth”, controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma made an announcement to its sequel. He says he will be starting GST 2.

American porn star Mia Malkova featured in Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘God, Sex and Truth’ that released online on 27 January and it is said to have got more hits than RGV expected.

Recently, Mahesh Babu’s kind contribution has saved the life of a young boy, who had been fighting with cancer. Despite bearing major part of expenses for treatment of the boy, Mahesh did not publicize it, and his kind act came to light only when one of the boy’s family members revealed the news on social media.

After the boy fully recovered, he, along with his family members, met Mahesh to thank him for saving his life. During the meeting, the boy’s family took a photograph with Mahesh, which has been shared on social media by a family member, who revealed the financial help that Mahesh had done.

Bollywood diva Sonam Kapoor is quite excited about her new film, why not? after all, she is going to work with her father, Anil Kapoor for the first time in her decade-old career.

Sonam shared a picture of the clap of the first shot with her father to tell how excited she is. The film is titled, “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga”, and it has Sonam playing the reel daughter of her real life father, Anil Kapoor.

Interestingly, “Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga” is a line from the popular song from Anil kapoor’s classic film, “1942: A Love Story”.

At the pumpkin breaking ceremony of a star hero’s film recently, actually, fans are kept in the wait for hours.

After waiting from afternoon to evening of the day, fans still carried the same energy to make sure that they will get a selfie with their star. Quite shockingly, the hero left the shooting spot through the backdoor and clueless fans got frustrated how their star hero hasn’t even cared for them.

While the incident took place couple of days ago, hero’s manager immediately rushed to pacify the fans and made sure that the news won’t find its place on social media. Otherwise it would have become viral news only.

‘Content is King’, is the statement that we often hear in film industry. It is logical and valid, but not as proven as ‘Controversy is King’. There are occasions when even content-driven films failed at box office, but it has been proved time and again that the films that engulf in ‘controversies’ before release, strike gold at box office without a fail.

Recently released historical magnum opus, ‘Padmaavat’ (Padmavati earlier) is the latest and perfect example for the postulate – Controversy is King. No film in the recent times had to undergo as much labor pain as Padmaavat did to have a theatrical release. After its release now, the film is shattering box office records of Bollywood both in India and overseas.

The makers had set aside Rs 30 Cr for promoting this 180 Cr visual spectacle in a big way, but they didn’t have to spend much of it since the controversy itself brought more attention to the film than what the 30 Cr could have brought.

The never ending controversies have piqued the interest of movie goers to find out what controversial content the film really deals with. This curiosity translated to footfalls in theatres, and moolah in producer’s bank account. Especially in overseas, Padmaavat is performing much better than current BO topper, Aamir Khan’s “Dangal”.

Last year’s Tamil biggie, “Mersal” too faced severe controversies post its release. And the result is a blockbuster despite weak talk. “Arjun Reddy” also indulged in a big controversy before release and we know what a big hit the film became at box office.

Several films including the aforementioned ones in the recent times have proved that controversies assure gold at box office, and the success of a film is proportional to the scale of controversy it gets entangled in.

Reigning star Vijay Deverakonda is getting ready to work with another talented director, Kranthi Madhav.

After making his directorial debut with the award winning film, Onamalu, Kranthi Madhav found critical and commercial success with Sharwanand and Nithya Menen starrer, ‘Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju’. After making two well-received sensible films, he made a blunder by going out of his comfort zone and working with Sunil. And, the result is a disaster, “Ungarala Rambabu”.

The talented director will next direct Vijay Deverakonda in a love story. Senior producer KS Rama Rao, who earlier produced Madhav’s MMIR, will bankroll the new film. An official announcement about this project will be made next week. Pre-production work is currently underway.

Meanwhile, Vijay is full busy with multiple films at different stages of production.

One of the most awaited films of the season is none other than Sukumar’s “Rangasthalam” movie that has Ram Charan and Samantha in the leads. This mega project’s teaser already impressed many cinema lovers and everyone can’t stop appreciating Mega Powerstar’s gutsy ‘sound engineer’ act.

Known for carving out many wonderful songs with montages, we hear that Sukumar actually wrote a new theme for one such song to be shot on Samantha and Ram Charan. However, the song is said to be a little romantic one and also requires Samantha to got little hot. Latest update is that this song is not happening.

There is no update as to why this song is called-off but currently only Charan and Anasuya related scenes are being shot near Rajahmundry. While some say that the song is dropped at the last minute as Samantha was not able to allot dates for the filming, few said that it is a creative idea to drop the song.

Also there is another rumour doing rounds that Samantha expressed her inability to do this romantic song post getting married. Whatever it maybe, there seem to be a romantic song chopped from Rangasthalam movie for unknown reasons.

In the recent times, Tollywood is running after disorders to make sure that the characters of heroes will sound new. Somehow senior hero Nagarjuna opened the doors for that and since then many heroes are trying their luck.

While Nagarjuna was seen as wheelchair ridden paraplegic in Oopiri movie, Nani was seen playing an absent-minded guy in Bhale Bhale Magadivoyi. Raviteja made the feat of a blind man in Raja The Great wile Jr NTR appeared with stammering in Jai Lava Kusa. Very soon we’ll see Ram Charan playing the role of a deaf guy in Rangasthalam. And that rounds up the point, our heroes are showing interesting in disorders to create interest.

In all these roles, whether the hero is blind, deaf, paraplegic or anything, their dialogues always touched others. So the moot question is, will anytime our heroes pick up a role that makes them appear dumb (speechless) on the silver screen? The likes of Chandra Mohan in Telugu, Kamal Haasan in Tamil have done such roles earlier. Even Jr NTR tried a mute role in Narasimhudu movie for first half of the film.

With dialogues being the prime weapons of almost all the commercial films, will our heroes really try playing the disorder of a speechless person on silver screen? Maybe not, because they feel it affects commercial prospects of a film. But who knows, if the likes of Rajamouli create such roles, they may carve out with a better screenplay and impressive scenes. Also, if the role has no dialogues, then our stars need to emote well.

Anushka’s “Bhaagamathie” was simply unstoppable at box office in its first weekend. After taking a sensational opening (about 12 Cr gross), the film had a rock solid hold on the Saturday and the Sunday to collect 26 Cr at worldwide box office in its opening weekend (only 3 days). The collections are spectacular considering that they are registered for a heroine-centric film.

In US, Bhaagamathie had a very good run in the first weekend despite the record breaking performance of Padmaavat. The Anushka starrer raked in about $710K (3-day weekend) whereas the historical Hindi film collected close to $5M (4-day weekend).

Thanks to the phenomenal box office numbers, Bhaagamathie has already recovered more than 75% of the investment in the first weekend. Trade predicts the horror thriller to emerge the first clean hit of 2018.
