Bommarillu beauty Genelia D’Souza, who has done considerable number of Telugu and a handful of films, finally married to her co-star Riteish Deshmukh and got settled in life bidding adieu to her acting career. Genelia has surprised her darling husband on his birthday the other day with her surprise gift. She has presented him a posh car. Genelia has booked a Tesla X for Riteish and presented him the car for his 40th birthday.

“40-year-old birthday boy feel like a 20-year-old,” wrote Riteish as soon as he got the car. It is a red Tesla Model X electric SUV which has gull-wing style rear doors that open upwards, known as Falcon Wing doors.

If reports are anything to go by, Riteish could be the second Indian to own Telsa X. This is indeed a great gift Riteish has got on his 40th birthday. The couple, worked in films such as Tujhe Meri Kasam, Masti and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, have married in February 2012. They have a 3-year-old Riaan and one-year-old Rahyl.

The relationship Anushka and Prabhas shares has been the most talked about topic ever since the happening of “Baahubali”. Media, especially Bollywood, and fans can’t stop gushing about the chemistry the duo shares, both on-screen and off-screem. A few months ago, when Anushka gifted Prabhas a luxurious watch on his birthday, it became a national news. Now, Prabhas addressing Anushkas as ‘Sweety’ has created a sort of flutter among fans and media.

While launching the teaser of Anushka’s upcoming film, ‘Bhaagamathie’, Prabhas appreciated the actress for being courageous enough ti try out something new always.

“She is always the first one to try out something new with every film of hers. Good luck Sweety,” is what Prabhas wrote on his official handle.

Prabhas addressing Anushka as Sweety and not by her name has caught the attention, and it demonstrates the camaraderie the duo shares. ‘Are they very good friends’ or ‘Are they more than friends’ is the discussion that is going on at the moment.

For those who don’t know, Anushka’s nickname is Sweety. It seems extra sweetness got added to the nickname when Prabhas used it for Anushka.

Ever since the trailer of Surya’s latest movie “Gang” is out in the web world, people have found many similarities to a Bollywood film. Though the makers have time and again downplayed any such thing, finally director Vignesh Sivan has let the cat out of the bag.

Since a couple of years, there is news that Akshay Kumar’s 100 crore bonanza “Special 26” film be remade in South languages. Actually many directors got hold of the script and rights, and they wanted to do it with mass heroes. Finally, it was heard that mass raja Raviteja will enter the shoes of Akshay but that didn’t materialise.

After watching “Gang” teaser, many felt that Surya’s trailer is close to Special 26 movie while the makers maintained silence. Finally, director Vignesh Sivan revealed that the film is neither frame to frame remake, nor a free make. “I’ve taken the remake rights, styled the film and changed the story to suit Tamil audiences and finally made it match to Surya sir’s image”, revealed Vignesh.

That way, the confirmation has come that Surya is, in fact, playing the role of fake CBI guy who loots many business establishments. The film is based on an incident that took place in Mumbai in 1986 where a gang of 26 fake Income Tax and CBI officers looted a jewellery shop in the name of raids.

There is no other person from film industry who can precisely analyse Prabhas other than Baahubali maker Rajamouli. After working with Prabhas for Chatrapathi, Baahubali : The Beginning and Baahubali : The Conclusion (Baahubali films took nearly 5 years to make), probably, Rajamouli is the best person to reveal the Prabhas biggest strengths and his style of work.

“Prabhas is intelligent actor. What I really like about him is his maturity and sensible self-assessment. Prabhas knows exactly what he is worth, nothing more, nothing less. He neither overestimates nor underestimates himself. When he got Baahubali, he knew exactly the impact the film would have and the influence his character, performance get. He surrendered himself totally to Baahubali just like how he surrendered now to Saaho,” Rajamouli was quoted as saying in his candid interview to a leading tabloid.

Rajamouli is honest enough to admit that the Baahubali team has moved on as each one has their own commitments. However, Jakkanna says they would all connect when they get time.

Any plans to work with Prabhas sooner?

Rajamouli has made it clear that he wouldn’t work with Prabhas anytime soon. “Prabhas and I have been together for five years. We actually need a break from each other. Prabhas is busy with his own commitments and I’ve my own. We will certainly work in future again but not anytime sooner,” said Rajamouli.

After Baahubali 2, Rajamouli is yet to officially announce his next film. Talk is that he would direct Ram Charan, Jr NTR for a multi-starrer to be produced by Danayya.

In the wake of Agnyathavaasi audio launch taking Tollywood by a storm, actually many media houses are conducting polls and checking people about the greatest films of Pawan Kalyan and why they love them. And some of the results are a big shocker.

Whenever Pawan’s films are talked about, people actually take the names like Tholiprema, Tammudu and Kushi from his early bunch of work. Later these days, they are praising Gabbar Singh to the sky while Attarintidi Daredi is getting a mention in the end due to its box office industry record at that time. However, Jalsa and Attarintidi Daredi, both directed by Trivikram, are not getting any rave reviews.

Some say that, while Pawan has an eye for new things always, Trivikram is one intellectual who has more philosophy, ideas of better society and other sophisticated stuff. And then, this duo should come up with some interesting movies with never seen before stories. But they are delivering only commercial masala entertainers like Jalsa and Attarintiki Daredi, and Agnathavasi is nothing less.

Many cinema lovers felt that Trivikram should do something more with Pawan rather than these masala pictures. Maybe that disappointment is making Pawan-Trivikram’s films getting no special recognition in terms of recall value and living in hearts forever.

India’s hopes of winning an Academy award this year are still alive in the form of music maestro AR Rahman’s music academy, ‘Qutub-E-Kripa’. The Academy of Motion Pictures has just announced the original songs shortlisted in the category of the Best Original Song, and three songs composed by Rahman’s music academy have made it to the cut.

Qutub-E-Kripa is an ensemble of student musicians of AR Rahman’s music academy KM Music Conservatory. Three songs composed by the team for the Hollywood film “Lake of Fire” have been shortlisted for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards. Rahman, who himself won two Oscars in 2009 for “Slumdog Millionaire” in two categories – Best Original Score and Best Original Song, congratulated his team of students for getting shortlisted for Oscars.

Qutub-E-Kripa has been co-credited with AR Rahman for the background score of several films scored by the Mozart of Madras previously.

On a related note, two songs from Mohanlal’s blockbuster film, “Pulimurugan” have also been nominated under the Best Original Song category. The 90th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on 4th March, 2018.

Producer Dil Raju has reportedly edited MCA ahead of the film’s release. Buzz is that Raju has edited out a couple of scenes from the film’s first half and swapped some scenes in the second half. Apparently, some scenes in the second half have been re-positioned by altering the scenes. This is to fine tune the film further ahead of its release this week.

It is buzzed that Raju has done these last-minute changes to the film after it was cleared by Censor that is raising many eyeballs.

Raju’s interference in his films is not new and he holds command on his films, directors. Since director Venu is from his own camp and even was launched by him and given him another opportunity to prove himself after a long hiatus, Venu obviously has no objections on Raju’s interference after all it is his own film.

Apparently, Nani too accompanied Dil Raju while the film went through final scissors. Let’s see how the film would be.

In a significant development in the most controversial and much talked about Hyderabad drug scandal that shook the Tollywood, the Excise Enforcement Director Akun Sabharwal, who is heading the probe of the Hyderabad drug racket, is gearing up to file charge sheets against five people suspected to have ‘taken’ drugs.

Akun Sabharwal seems to have got a crucial evidence in the ongoing probe. The officer has got a final report from the National Forensic Science Laboratory (NFSL) in which 5 persons were reportedly have tested positive.

The SIT (Special Investigation Team) has questioned over 27 persons, including 12 persons from film industry, in connection with the drugs in July and August 2017. All their samples were collected by the investigating team. The team has also recorded the investigation in case diary and video graphed the proceedings of the questioning and took written statements from them besides their samples.

With the report from NFSL out now, the SIT is all set to take legal action against the accused in connection with the drugs. The names of five people have been kept under the wraps. Now, this is the talking point in film circuits. Who are the five who tested positive?

Non Bailable Arrest Warrant (NBW) has been issued against film producer Miryala Ravinder Reddy. This is in connection with a cheque bounce case on film finance.

A local court in Prathipadu of East Godavari issued NBW against Miryala Ravinder Reddy for the ‘Contempt of Court’ as he has not been attending the court despite several notices.

It is heard that Miryala Ravinder Reddy has issued a cheque for over Rs 50 Lakh and the cheque was said to be bounced.

Ravinder Reddy has produced films such as Saahasam Swaasaga Saagipo (Naga Chaitanya and Gautham Menon combo) and Jaya Janaki Nayaka (Boyapati and Bellamkonda Sreenivas combo). Ravinder is also into iron business. Arrest warrant against him has come as a shocker to industry folks.

Finally, the prestigiously taken up project of Telangana Government, the Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu, have finished on a high, with a spectacular display of fireworks and government concluding that this summit should be held every year.

But for a summit like this, generally, if film industry folks who act, sleep and eat in Telugu for Telugu movies attend big time, then it gets the much-needed attention. Though we saw a horde of previous generation stars like Chiranjeevi, Balayya, Venkatesh, Nagaruna, Jagapathi Babu, Rajendra Prasad and others attending the event, we have not seen any of present generation stars.

Where is Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, Allu Arjun, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and other young heroes who are ruling the roost in Telugu films at the moment, at this event? Seems like the younger generation is busy making Telugu films but don’t find time to take part in an event that is aimed at spreading the wings for the mother tongue. At a time when these heroes are able to find time to attend award shows that shower them with appreciations and trophies, why can’t they attend this summit?

Finally, hero Allu Arjun who has come up with a tweet sensing that media might question this. And that looked like a mere eyewash line. He tweeted, “I wholeheartedly appreciate this wonderful initiative taken by the government to promote Telugu literature & culture with Prapancha Telugu Mahasabhalu Program. Really Proud & Elated (sic)”.

We have reported the other day that Megastar Chiranjeevi will be attending the pre-release event of Akhil Akkineni’s “Hello” so as to encourage the youngster and promote the film, which is being touted as the proper launch of the Akkineni heir.

Now, it has become official that its not just Chiru but Ram Charan will also be attending the event that will take place this evening at N Convention in Hyderabad.

Ram Charan and Akhil are known to be very good friends, and hence the Mega power star couldn’t say no when the Akkineni hero asked him to be present at the most crucial event of his career. Chiru on the other hand has been requested to attend the event as the industry’s big head, chief guest of the event, to bless Akhil.

While it was Nagarjuna who asked Chiru to come, Akhil asked Charan to attend the event. With Chiru and Charan attending Akkineni event, it will be a delightful festival of sorts for the fans of both the families. During his recent audio events of Sardar and Katamarayudu, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan spoke more about films and fans. But this time, he shifted to politics and philosophy if his speech at “Agnyathavasi” audio launch is anything to go by.

As usual, Pawan thanked his fans for being there when many people who he has stood with them in tough times left him. “My heart is very wide and large though my body is small. And that heart can accommodate all of you, all the time” said Pawan Kalyan, to his fans, breaking them into cheers.

Confirming that he always wanted to quit films because he wanted to make the best use of the love and adulation being shown on him, by reciprocating it back for the sake of society, Pawan asserted, “My heart always beats for you (fans). But for any art form, the end target is serving the society. I might do only a fraction of help, but I want to do it. That’s the reason I’ve come into politics”.

Recalling his association with Trivikram, the Gabbar Singh star clarified that they are just good friends but not involved in guiding each other for any reason (read politics). “Trivikram stood by me in tough times. He brought me out of depression by introducing me to a person, ala book, Na Desam written by Gunturu Seshendra Sharma. Trivikram and I share similar ideologies, same thought process, we respect film industry and elders; perhaps that makes us bond well. Neither I’m guiding him, nor vice versa”, he clarified.

For the first time ever in his career, Pawan requested his fans to come and watch this film as he felt like a superior team of Trivikram, cinematographer Manikandan, art director Prakasha and producer Radhakrishna crafted a great product.

On a concluding note, he said, “Agnyathavasi has technicians and artists belonging to all corners of India. From Boman Irani to Kushboo, fight masters to others, whole India came together for this film. I feel proud of it”.
