The government of Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday announced the Nandi Awards for 2014, 2015, and 2016. The NTR National Award was bestowed upon Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth for the years 2014 and 2016 respectively.
Prakash Raj Is Indirectly Helping Pawan Kalyan
The statement, “Actors should not come in politics and fans should not vote just out of love for their favorite actors” as said by Prakash Raj, went viral other day.
Everyone started to point fingers at Pawan Kalyan, Kamal Haasan, and Upendra saying that the versatile actor targeted them. But when Prakash Raj has given clarity about what he said, it’s the turn of Pawan Kalyan’s fans and his Janasena Party supporters to take up celebrations. Wonder why? Here it goes.
Actually, Prakash Raj stated that his comments at Press Club are distorted in media and he gave a correct version of it on social media. “Actors should not come into politics only because they are popular. They should come with a clear perception of issues facing the country and win the trust of people” he said.
Taking a cue from this line, Pawan’s fanbase is busy saying that their heartthrob is doing what Prakash Raj expected of actors. “Pawan is the first one to highlight Uddanam issue in recent times. He led farmers’ delegation as well regarding Amaravathi land issues. He stood for Agricultural University students and made AP Govt withdraw controversial GO. Even before stepping into elections, Pawan is winning people’s trust with his clear-cut vision and by solving problems” they say.
Some observers added that Prakash Raj’s comments are indirectly helping Pawan Kalyan as the Janasena president is not just cashing on his image.

Film Publicity: Satires on Jewelry Store Owner
Film publicity is as difficult as any other promotion these days. Taking this into account, the makers of London Babulu have come up with a novel yet funny concept of imitating a popular Jewelry store owner who is aggressively promoting his store on TV channels.
Actor Ajay Ghosh from the film has been roped in and dressed similar to him. Sporting a complete bald, Ajay is made look like the jewelry store owner and mimicks him. While the jewelry brand owner had compared about the competitive prices their stores offer, Anay Ghosh compares London Babulu with competitive films and promote that how their film offers good entertainment for their money.
Presented by Maruthi Talkies, apparently this is idea of actor-turned-director Chinni Krishna. Many thought that Maruthi could be behind this, however Maruthi himself has admitted that he has no role in this and it is completely Chinni’s idea. Starring Colours Swathi and Rakshith, London Babulu is releasing on Nov 17th only.
Producers feel that this ad satire on jewelry brand owner has got more publicity for the film worth many lakhs at less cost. Let’s see how far this will really help the film.
Poor quality works in KCR pet scheme?
The double-bed room scheme, which is considered to be the pet scheme of Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao seems to be plagued with poor quality of works.
Though the scheme was announced two years ago, it had not taken off till recently, except in some areas.
However, with elections just a few months away, the TRS government is trying to complete as many as houses as possible so as to appease voters in different parts of the state.
This has resulted in lot of corruption in the implementation of scheme and the contractors are resorting to poor quality of works in several areas, going by the reports in the media.
On Monday, AICC Leader and Rajya Sabha MP Renuka Chowdhury alleged that large scale irregularities were taking place in every government scheme, including the double-bed room scheme.
She inspected the double bedroom construction works in progress at Julurupadu in Badradri Kothagudem district. She said the government had taken up scheme in a hurried manner keeping in view the upcoming general elections.
“People don’t need the scheme with cheap quality materials used in the construction. She questioned as to who would take the responsibility if the house collapsed.
Padmavati Upset! Questions Govt’s Silence
Amidst the protests, threats and demands of ban on upcoming historical film, “Padmavati”, several prominent film bodies across the nation have come out in support of the film, and questioned the government’s silence on open threats by ruling party members.
‘No filmmaker will attempt to bring our history onto silver screen after witnessing the innumerable hurdles being created for Padmavati, alleging that the makers distorted the history, even without watching the film. Let the film release first, and then confront the makers if they had really distorted the story. The government should intervene at least now, as the release date is just two weeks away,’ demanded the body of filmmakers.
They asked both the Central and state governments about why were silent when leaders from their parties were openly threatening to burn theatres screening Padmavati. They said that an attack on the film was an assault on creative freedom.
Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been facing hurdles ever since he started shooting for the film. The sets of the movie were vandalized multiple times, and the director was even roughed up earlier this year by members of Rajput community.
