Deepika & Big B to Visit Amaravati For Big Event
Andhra’s capital city, Amaravati is going to host India’s first Social Media Summit Awards (SMSA), a national event being supported by the AP government.
The summit aspires to bring together entrepreneurs, brand managers, social media strategists, content developers etc. and highlight the importance of incorporating social media into marketing strategy, and demonstrate how it can add value to a business, in terms of both revenue and brand.
The two-day event is scheduled to happen on November 18 and 19. The first day will see representatives from Google India, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and from several other firms coming together for a session. The award ceremony will be held on the second day, some of the award winners include Deepika Padukone, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggunati and music director Anirudh. All these eminent personalities are expected to take part in the event on the second day to collect their awards.
Deepika will be conferred with the award of Most Popular Indian Actress on social media and Amitabh Bachchan with the Most Popular Indian Actor on social media award.
No, Jeevitha Didn’t Do Any Mistake
Looking at the way hero Rajasekhar functions, especially by depending on his wife Jeevitha even for a small pep talk such that he will get some prompting, one wonders if many of his flops are due to her. In that context, media folks asked him, if Jeevitha is really a correct director for him.
Explaining about the four films that are handled by Jeevitha in director’s capacity, Rajasekhar says that there is nothing wrong with her side. “No, Jeevitha didn’t do any mistake. For Seshu, even the original Sethu director Bala appreciated her directorial abilities. Coming to Khakhee remake Satyameva Jayathe, picking a Hindi version that was seen by many Telugu people on home videos was a mistake. And the original is a multi-starrer film but we didn’t rope such star cast. Evadaithe Nakenti was also directed by Jeevitha, though Samudra was there on set for just namesake. Jeevitha is not a failure as a director but maybe as a producer”, he said.
Also, Rajasekhar confirmed that “I only force Jeevitha to direct films while she never asks for it”. Whether some may see this as a pleasing answer to shut mouths of Jeevitha’s critics, and otherwise, Rajasekhar feels that Jeevitha took the place of his mother and never she will guide him in the wrong direction.
Prabhas Helping Struggling Rajus!
MS Raju aka Sankaranthi Raju is the producer of several blockbuster films. Mahesh Babu’s Okkadu, Prabhas’ Varsham are only a few to name besides many. However, he has lost his magic touch after a couple of failures and is now battling to score a success. More than a success, MS Raju is now keen on establishing his son Sumanth Ashwin as the hero.
While Sumanth is yet to settle, Prabhas said to have come forward to extend a helping hand to Raju and Sumanth. Prabhas stepped in and has asked his friends Vamsi, Pramod to bankroll a film with Sumanth Ashwin. That’s how the Happy Wedding is started.
Only because of Prabhas and presence of UV Creations, Niharika has come onto the board. Thus, the film is managing to make good buzz. Niharika, in between, has signed her second film in Tamil alongside Vijay Sethupathi. So, this is Niharika’s second film in Telugu after Oka Manasu bombed at the box office.
I Asked Chiranjeevi for Villain Role in Dhruva – Rajasekhar
Sometime ago, senior hero Rajasekhar had openly aid that he was ready to play the villain role in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s 150th film if given a chance. What came as a surprising revelation from the horse’s mouth itself is that he even showed interest to play the villain in a Ram Charan-starrer too.
During a recent interview, Rajasekhar divulged that he had approached Chiru and showed interest to play the villain role in “Dhruva” as well. Elaborating on the same, he reportedly said, ‘I watched the Tamil film and I really liked the villain character. When they were vigorously hunting for the actor to step into Arvind Swamy’s shoes in the remake, I met Chiranjeevi and offered to do the role. Sometime later, I got a call from producer NV Prasad informing that they had decided to retain Arvind Swamy for the Telugu remake since they could use several shots from the Tamil version.”
Its no exaggeration that Arvind Swamy lived in the villain role in Dhruva, but wouldn’t it have been more interesting had Rajasekhar played that character?
Rajasekhar said he was grateful to Chiru for extending support to his new film, “Garuda Vega”.
Now, NRIs vote in the India election
If Indian NRIs living out of the country cast their vote in the general election, certainly the polling percentage will top statistics. But, in the past, no attempts were made to bring up a constitutional bill that can help non-resident Indians cast their vote either through postal or e-ballot.
But, Narendra Modi-led BJP government is now expected to make changes to election bill so that NRIs too can participate in the voting. The union government on Friday sought some time from apex court saying that ‘a bill in this regard will passed in the coming winter session of parliament.’
Following the Centre’s request, Supreme Court bench comprising the Chief Justice Deepak Mishra, Justice D.Y Chandrachud & Justice A.M Khanwilkar adjourned voting rights petition by 12 weeks. Meaning, we can likely see non resident Indians voting in India very soon. Experts tell that this constitutional amendment will extensively benefit Modi in the coming polls.
In the past, attorney general KK Venugopal advocated the petition by saying that ‘until an amendment is made to constitution, NRIs cannot cast their vote for an election in India.’

Na Peru Siva, yes it’s a beautifully conceived murder drama. Palnadu, of course, another such drama. And now C/o Surya, it is just adding to it. So what is the message director Suseendran is giving to all?
Apparently, the film C/o Surya got rave reviews in Tamilnadu, but it got black and blue from Telugu critics and audiences. There is only one reason that could have happened in the film’s opposition. Till date, those hyped films of director Suseendran have same tried and test formula. Some villains are intelligent murderers and finally, the hero realizes that he’s intelligent than the villain and beats him to nuts.
While Na Peru Siva has Karthi taking revenge for his father’s death, Palnadu has seen Vishal taking revenge for brother’s death. This time Sandeep Kishan is busy taking revenge for attempted murder on his sister in C/o Surya movie. But the same old killings, which looks like slow-motion loud-background score versions of Nerala Ghoralu programs are not clicking well at the box office.
That’s the reason some Telugu fans who love Suseendran’s work do say, ‘Please change the script sir’.
Exclusive: Sreenu Vaitla To Direct Web Series
Battling with a series of flops, once ace director Sreenu Vaitla is running out of filmy opportunities. Although it was buzzed that he would collaborate with Ravi Teja for a film, it didn’t materialise. Vaitla seems to have realised and decided not to waste time. Instead, he may soon going to direct a web series.
Apparently, Vaitla has tied up with a top production house for the web series. The top production is very popular for churning out big films. At the same time, they are already into production of web series.
Since Vaitla has good hold on comedy which is vital for short films and web series of late, they seems to have zeroed in on Vaitla.
If grapevine in film nagar is to be believed, Sreenu has agreed to do another webseries with another production house that is planning to make a comeback into films. Vaitla wants to prove himself in webseries and wants to make a comeback into films. Let’s wait and see what is in the store.
