Veteran Producer’s Master Class To Junior!!

Share

There are some producers in Telugu industry who invest huge money and make the film rich, but fail to select a proper story. There are some, however, who make films with mediocre budget and also choose similar stories.

Other day one such junior producer is said to have got the class-of-life from his guiding light in the industry. This junior has not much experience in any film-related department but only shadowed a hero and learned about filmmaking. And that makes him feel like the king of the jungle as he gives a coloring that he could judge any story ‘just like that’, say insiders.

But his recent film tanked big time at the box office, and the way he spoke about his picking of the story sounded quite silly after looking at the movie. Rather giving chance to writers and directors, he generally involves in everything and pushes his ideas as if they are Oscar-winning ones.

Talking about the same, the senior producer gave him black and blue, asking him to not suppress the talents of directors and writers with his monopolistic behavior. Since a flopped film does nothing to this junior producer as he would make money out of it anyway, that will destroy careers of director and hero involved, the senior warned.

Industry insiders feel this master class should work on the junior and put him on right track.

Cigarette Talk On Jabardasth Comedian

Share

No matter how many warnings we see on Silver Screen from celebs saying that smoking is injurious to health and causes cancer, off the screen many of them still good smokers. And guess what, there is always this smoke talk that comes about once struggled and now successful comedians.

There is this comedian who has shot to fame with Jabardasth. And whenever he comes to any events at popular film locations like Prasad Labs and Film Chamber, there is one talk always being heard. Many come and say, this comedian used to borrow cigarettes from me, but then he became a big star now, he’s not even looking at our faces.

To be more specific about this comedian, he’s said to have borrowed cigarettes all the time from everyone, including light boys to production managers. But now that he has become a star, they say he’s not even talking to them. Film industry folks say, many actors, generally forget the ones who helped them after attaining stardom. However, there is another reality one has to understand.

Probably at that time the comedian didn’t have money and borrowed. And now that he got a status, definitely he won’t borrow a smoke. Also, it might look awkward if he does so.

PSV Garudavega’s Budget Is Doubtful!!

Share

Hero Rajasekhar and director Praveen Sattaru are in a jubilant mode with the film PSV Garudavega getting applause for its Hollywood like making standards. However, those who have seen the film can’t stop raving about the budgets involved.

Actually, there is a buzz going on about this film that nearly 25 crores was spent on this film as budget overshot midway. But some latest rumors added that they have finished the movie in around 15+ crores. Those who are aware of the technical brilliance involved in these types of films, however, has different things to say.

“Even for a superb striking visual effects film like Baahubali, the visual effects are done with around 40-50 crores budget only. So why would Garudavega take so much as there are no big sets also built? Going by the visual, and the locations like Georgia, Bangkok and other places, and for that star cast, the budget will be closer to 10 to 15 crs only” an insider commented. Some media folks added that additional 1 crore is being spent on promotions.

Though Rajasekhar, Jeevitha, and Praveen confirmed that the budge has overshot, they never revealed any figure. But why are they silent when it is being said that 25 crores are spent on the film? Is it to invoke sympathy? Or to make distributors believe that the film got really superior stuff?

We hear that even if the film collections only 4-5 crores from the box office, the satellite and digital rights are likely to push all investors to safe shores.

Sindhu hits out at airline staff for ‘rude’ behaviour

Share

Rio Olympics silver medallist shuttler P.V. Sindhu on Saturday slammed private carrier IndiGo, saying a staffer “behaved very badly and rudely” with her when she boarded a Hyderabad-Mumbai flight.Sindhu took to Twitter, describing the incident as “a very bad experience” after a staffer named Ajeetesh objected to her carrying her kit-bag which had her racquets inside it.The airline said the baggage issue was eventually resolved.

“We hope that Ms Sindhu will appreciate that our colleague was only carrying out his duty in the best interest of a safe and reliable operation,” Ajay Jasra, IndiGo’s Director of Corporate Communications, said in a statement. On her part, Sindhu posted in a series of tweets: “Sorry to say ..I had a very bad experience when i was flying by 6E 608 flight to bombay (sic) on November 4 the ground staff by name Ajeetesh.””Ground staff (skipper) Ajeetesh behaved very badly and rudely with me. When the air hostess Ashima tried to advise him to behave properly with the passenger (Me) but to my surprise he behaved very rudely with her. If this type of people work for a reputed airline like Indigo they will spoil their reputation.”

While Sindhu was not reachable, IANS contacted her mother who played down the incident, saying: “Lets not make it a very serious issue, such things take place sometimes.”The IndiGo statement said: “Ms P.V. Sindhu boarded flight 6E608 Hyderabad-Mumbai carrying oversized baggage which was not fitting into the overhead bin. Ms Sindhu was informed that it will be moved to cargo hold of the aircraft. This is the same policy we follow for all customers. Oversized baggage inside the cabin inconveniences other customers and can also be a safety hazard if it cannot be secured properly in the cabin.”

“During the entire conversation, the member of the IndiGo ground operations remained calm. After several requests to her manager, they finally consented to the removal of the bag from the cabin. We then placed the over-sized baggage in the cargo hold and was handed over to Ms Sindhu on arrival. We are extremely proud of Ms Sindhu’s sporting achievements and are grateful for the laurels she has won for our country. However, safety of our operations is paramount to IndiGo,” the statement added.

Padayatra slogan: ‘Ravaali Jagan, Kavaali Jagan’!

Share

YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, who is all set to launch his marathon padayatra from November 6, is going into the people with a new slogan: “Ravaali Jagan, Kavaali Jagan (Come Jagan, Need Jagan)Needless to say the slogan was coined by Indian Political Action Committee (IPAC), headed by political strategist Prashant Kishor, who has been hired by YSR Congress party chief for his victory in the next elections. Apparently, Prashant’s team is of the view that the new slogan will give Jagan a new brand image during the padayatra.

According to sources, the slogan was coined to project that people of the state are desperately looking towards Jagan as their saviour and the future leader of Andhra Pradesh. The IPAC wants to popularise this slogan through wall paintings, hoardings and banners across the state during the yatra.Around 3,000 wall wraps and paintings have already been put up in districts of Kadapa, Kurnool and Anantapur where Jagan will undertake his walkathon in the first month.

Another important part of Jagan’s branding is his dress. It will be totally in tune with the present day youth so as to give an appeal to the people that Jagan is going to reflect the young Andhra Pradesh to be ruled by a young and dynamic leader.“He will not resemble a typical dhoti wearing politician but a vibrant leader,” a party source said. However, there is every possibility that Jagan’s new slogan “Raavali Jagan, Kavaali Jagan” might resemble his arch rival N Chandrababu Naidu’s slogan before 2014: “Jaabu Kaavalante Babu Ravaali.”

Hope the party leaders take every care that the slogan will not become jinxed.

Naidu for discouraging families owning more cars

Share

Hyderabad: Vice President of India M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday called for discouraging families from owning more cars, ensuring parking spaces before registering a car in metro cities, and for hiking parking fee in congested areas. He also underlined the need for initiating a shift to clean fuels, retiring old polluting vehicles, strengthening mass transportation, and promoting use of electric vehicles.

He suggested a rule to make it mandatory for a one to show the certificate that he has parking space before registering his car.Naidu mooted the proposals while inaugurating 10th Urban Mobility India (UMI) conference cum exhibition here. The Vice President noted that it has become fashion even for small families to own more cars and called for discouraging the trend, cautioning that unless such steps were taken, it will be difficult to meet the challenge of easing congestion in cities and controlling the pollution.

“Many of the environmental challenges in the urban transport sector are rooted in its reliance on the non-renewable fossil fuel to propel private motor vehicles,” he said.He said urged the planners and policymakers to decongest the cities by going for satellite towns, better public transport facilities, providing incentives for creating infrastructure, ensuring cycling tracks and pedestrian path and motivating people to change their lifestyle.

“A holistic and integrated approach to urban land use and transport planning and investment is needed if urban areas are to become socially, environmentally and economically sustainable,” he said.He said the cities need to have smart leaders with vision, courage and conviction to raise revenues, remove encroachments and have some regulation.

Naidu said that the public transport is the need of the hour. “There is no other way. While private motorisation cannot be wished away completely, providing an affordable, comfortable, reliable and safe public transport can reduce the demand of private motorised vehicles.”

“High capacity public transport systems are needed to reduce the negative externalities like air and noise pollution, accidents and greenhouse gas emissions,” he added.Naidu noted that Metro rail has seen a rapid growth in many cities with Delhi taking the lead. “Metro is the flavour of the day. There is clamour for it but it’s not sufficient,” he said underlining the need for circular railway and electrical buses.

Naidu also stressed the need for ensuring last mile connectivity, integration between various modes of transport, integration of land use and transport planning, Transit Oriented Development (TOD), innovative financing and land value capture, and public private partnership.
