Can This Friday Mark Another Hero’s Comeback?

Share

Siddharth used to be one of the most wanted actors in Tollywood a few years ago. However, couple of flops and a few controversies allegedly forced him to shift his base to Kollywood. In the last few years, he had tried to release his hit dubbed films in Telugu, but he couldn’t get the reception he hoped for. After a long gap, Siddharth is hopeful of winning back the Telugu audiences with his new film, ‘Gruham’.

Titled ‘Aval’ in Tamil, the film has released there two weeks ago itself, and won universal acclaim, and generated good revenues as well. Siddharth actually wanted to release the film in Telugu simultaneously but the delay in producing Censor certificate forced him to postpone the release twice. At last, the film is gearing up to hit screens in the Telugu states this Friday.

On the bright side, the Tamil version has already become a hit and generated decent buzz for the Telugu version to catch up on. The horror genre always has a section of audience, who don’t bother much about the cast. The biggest problem for Gruham however is competition at box office. As many as 14 films, including small and dubbed, are slated to hit screens this Friday. Siddharth couldn’t get as many theatres as he wanted because of the competition.

The ‘Bommarillu’ hero however is confident that ‘Gruham’ will make its presence felt amidst this mad rush, and announce his comeback to Tollywood, as content is the king on any day. Two weeks ago, we have witnessed the comeback of senior hero Rajasekhar.

Mehreen With Another Struggling Hero!

Happening beauty Mehreen Kaur has reportedly been roped in to romance macho hero Gopichand in his newly launched film.

To be directed by debutante Chakri, the film is said to be a racy action thriller. The makers were looking for a bubbly, good looking and happening actress in their film, and they couldn’t think of a better choice than Mehreen, who is on a success spree. Gopichand desperately needs some lady luck, and makers believe that Mehreen can be a lucky charm as well for them.

Gopichand’s last hit was Loukyam, which released in 2014. He is now awaiting the release of “Oxygen”, which is scheduled to hit screens this Friday. Mehreen on the other hand is awaiting the release of Sai Dharam Tej’s “Jawaan”, which will his screens on December 1st.

No One Dares To Question Trivikram?

Share

‘Nenu Monarch ni, nannevaroo mosam cheyaleru (I am a Monarch)’ is an iconic dialogues uttered by Prakash Raj in Pawan Kalyan’s 90s film, Suswagatam. According to the current buzz in film circles, top directing Trivikram is allegedly behaving like Prakash Raj’s character in real life.

It is known that Trivikram is currently directing Pawan Kalyan’s 25th film, PK25. Even though it is just a family entertainer, he has reportedly made the producer spend more than Rs 100 Cr already for the sake of expensive sets, graphics work etc. Significant amount of money is said to be going towards high interests from finances, high number of working days, delays etc.

It is undeniable that the lethal PK-Trivikram combo is fetching whopping amounts to the producer from various rights but even Rs 120 Cr pre-release business may just help the producer only get break even, suggest reports.

Producer S. Radha Krishna, who has been making movies with only Trivikram, doesn’t have the courage to ask him on either the expenses or delay in shooting and announcing title. Pawan on the other hand completely trusts Trivikram, and he is more immersed in political discussions with Jana Sena team. With no one to question him, Trivikram is allegedly taking arbitrary decisions both money-wise and time-wise.

Trivikram’s next film, NTR28, will also be bankrolled by Radha Karishna.

He had met Louise Ford who is 29 years younger than him in 2013 in London when the duo acted in a play called The Quartermaine’s Terms. Louise Ford is popular for playing Kate Middleton in the Channel 4 comedy The Windsors.

Dhruva, Shriya Will Set The Screen On Fire!

Yesteryear hero Arvind Swami is back into the big league with the sensational success of Tamil film, “Thani Oruvan”. The film was remade in Telugu as “Dhruva”, starring Ram Charan. Swami reprised his villain role in the remake as well and won accolades for his performance. In an interesting turn of events, his character in his new film is titled, ‘Dhruva’.

Young director Karthick Naren, who had won immense acclaim for his debut film, D16, has roped in Arvind Swami for his second film, ‘Naragasooran’. The thriller, which is being made as a Telugu-Tamil bilingual, also stars Shriya Saran and Sundeep Kishan.

Swami has recently made a tweet to inform that they had wrapped up the shooting, and he thanked his co-star Shriya Saran saying it was a pleasure working with her. Alongside sharing an intimate pic of the duo from the movie, he said that their chemistry will set the screen on fire.

Shriya is an enchantress who still makes fans go crazy with her ravishing acts in films. Arvind Swami, as Dhruva from Naragasooran, has just raised the expectations on the romantic quotient in the film.

GV Rights Sold To Multiple Parties?

Share

Buzz in film circuits is that a dispute is going on over Hindi-dubbing rights of Garuda Vega. Apparently, Jeevitha Rajasekhar has sold the Hindi dubbing rights of the film to two different parties for Rs 1 Crore and Rs 2 Crore.

This is not all. The film’s producers have announced that they have sold Hindi-dubbing rights to another party for Rs 2 Crore. Knowing of this proceedings later, all the parties who have bought the Hind-dubbing rights are in a shock and have approached the producers who are now trying to settle down the issue through talks.

While producer has the rights, Jeevitha Rajasekhar who released the film on Shivani Shivatmika Movies opine that she too has share in the rights. The issue is yet to be resolved.

Bunny Vasu’s Post: What’s Truth? What’s Fake?

Share

Apparently, a post made by Bunny Vas, producer and also a close confidante of both Allu Arvind and Allu Arjun, on the declared Nandi Awards went viral in social circles.

The post read, “Mega heroes should learn acting from Telugudesam Government such that they will win Nandi awards”. And in no time, the post went viral, and the post got deleted in minutes. And then a message reached media people that a fake account posted this, but not real Bunny Vas. Oops!!

Earlier when some posts from the same Facebook account became hot topics in media, none from Bunny Vasu’s team condemned them. It sounds quite silly now as they call it a fake account. Some insiders are saying that Mega Bigwigs gave a black and blue to Vasu after noticing the FB post because the post actually gives a feeling that he might have wrote that with influence from mega heroes.

Whether it is a fake account or real account, the discussion now is about the content and context of the post. Frankly speaking, there are no big mega films and stunning performances from mega heroes that deserve Best Actor awards in 2014, 2015 and 2016. Critics say that whenever there is a mega hero excelling, definitely either TDP or Congress govt has given them a Nandi without fail. And to not ignore, Nandi Committee has conferred Raghupati Venkayya award to Megastar Chiru and Best Character Artist to Allu Arjun.

Also with the arrival of many other awards these days, if a celeb wins one particular award and loses other, these types of thoughts naturally occur. But good content and talented celebs always excel at the box office.

No Match for Mahesh Babu

Share

Superstar Mahesh Babu may be finding it tough to cement his position at the Top in Tollywood because of the frequent flops that he scores immediately after a huge blockbuster, but he nonetheless is the No.1 as far as Awards are concerned.

Mahesh is one of the finest actors we have. He is someone who can steal hearts of audiences with subtle acting (Srimanthudu) as well as with intense performances (Businessman, Nenokkadine). And, an actor of such caliber and versatility winning awards year after year is no surprise.

By winning the Nandi award in the Best Actor category for 2015 for his blockbuster film, Srimanthudu, Mahesh has become the only actor among his contemporaries to have taken home 8 state govt-sponsored awards. He had earlier won the award in the Best Actor category for Nijam (2004), Athadu (2006) and Dookudu (2016). Mahesh has won 3 special Jury Nandi awards for Murari, Takkari Donga and Arjun in 2002, 2005 and 2006 respectively. Including the Best Male Debut Nandi for Rajakumarudu in 2000, Mahesh has won a total of 8 Nandi awards, the highest among his contemporaries.

The superstar has also won 5 Filmfare Awards South in the Best Actor category (Nominated three more times), 3 SIIMA and many more awards. An actor whose filmography has more flops than hits, winning these many awards, is truly an astonishing feat.

When CM was Caught Watching Adult Movie in Theatre

Share

Former Defence Minister and current Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar, who is counted among the very few clean politicians, has confessed about having got busted while watching an ‘Adult Film’ in a theatre.

While interacting with school children at a Children’s Day function, when Parrikar was asked what kind of movies he used to watch, he admitted to have seen adult movies of that era, apart from regular movies. The Goa CM also narrated the incident when he was caught red-handed watching an adult film in a theatre.

“There was a popular adult movie playing in a theatre in our area. We have seen many such films by then, and so, I and my brother went to watch it as well. During the interval, when the lights came on, I realized that my neighbour was sitting right next to me. Scared of he would complain to our mother, we ran away from the movie hall, leaving the film mid-way,” the BJP leader was quoted as saying.

Special Premiere Show For Anu Emmanuel Family

Share

Finally, it seems like another date is missed for Gopichand’s much-awaited movie “Oxygen” at the box office. The film produced by AM Ratnam and directed by his elder son Jyothikrishna has failed to release. Here is an interesting snippet.

Yesterday night, producer AM Ratnam was seen organizing a special preview of Oxygen at Prasad Labs screening theatre. However, this preview has no invitation to any media folks or other industry biggies. Only dusky heroine Anu Emmanuel and her parents are seen watching it.

Actually, Anu has just returned from Europe, finishing her shoot for Pawan Kalyan’s Agnathavasi in the surroundings of Bulgaria and Croatia. We hear that she has requested AM Ratnam to screen the movie for her family as they are desperate to see what she has done inside. Anu is the second heroine in the film, though her sensual poses from the film are being marketed on posters now. Raashi Khanna is the main lead.

What’s surprising is that both Gopichand and Raashi Khanna are also in the town but they haven’t turned up at this screening. Pch!!

Clash With Balayya!! Rudrama Devi Gets Neglected

Share

In what could be seen as most shocking ever decision the jury of Nandi Awards has taken, the year 2015 didn’t saw the greatness of “Rudramadevi” when it comes to these trophies.

While Baahubali: The Beginning is adjudged Best Film, films like Yevade Subramanyam, Nenu Sailaja, Malli Malli Idhi Rani Roju and Srimanthudu walked away with rest of the Best Film trophies. It is quite unfortunate that Rudramadevi, a tale of a true queen, empress, hasn’t impressed the jury.

At the same time, Posani Krishnamurali bagged Best Supporting Actor award, while everyone expected Allu Arjun to get it. However, the mega hero is given Best Character Artist award, which is being seen as a big insult by the mega coterie.

Even Anushka and Nitya Menon for Rudramadevi looked top contenders for Best Actress and Supporting Actress trophies and none of them won. But Anushka received it for Size Zero movie, however.

The only other award Rudramadevi received is Best Dubbing (Female) for Soumya who has lent voice to Anushka.

Rumours are doing rounds that Gunasekhar’s comments about his Rudramadevi not getting tax exemption from AP Government but Gautamiputra Satakarni getting one, haven’t gone well with Balayya. Also when Balayya gave an award to Gunasekhar at an event, the director didn’t even care for the Nandamuri actor and that further escalated the tension.

Finally, here it is, all rumors said and done, Rudramadevi gets no big honors at Nandi Awards.

Pic Talk: Crazy Lady Fan Of Prabhas

Share

Young Rebel star Prabhas enjoys huge fan following more for his off-screen simplicity than for his on-screen heroism. The share of females among his fans is considerably huge, why not? after all he is the most eligible bachelor in the Telugu states.

What an ardent lady fan has done recently for Prabhas has caught the attention of social media. The woman shared her picture where she is seen having painted Prabhas’ picture from Baahubali on her bareback, needless to say the pic has gone viral.

Big Boss Winner Threatening Small Films?

Share

This Friday it is going to be the release of nearly eight movies at Telugu box office, a suicidal clash of course. But some heroes and producers are said to be exerting pressure on theatre owners and other corporate establishments to allot them more screens. Here goes a talk going on in Film Nagar.

Among the big releases this Friday, we have Karthi’s Khakee, Siddharth’s Gruham and Maruthi’s production venture London Babulu. Along with these films, newcomer Goverdhan’s Prema Entha Madhuram Priyuralu antha Katinam, Prematho Mee Karthik, Raa Raa, Devi Sri Prasad and Lovers Club are releasing on November 17th. Joining these films is Siva Balaji’s ‘Snehamrea Jeevitham’ and winning Big Boss 1st season fetched his hero-producer some attention for this movie.

Talk is that Siva Balaji is forcing few theatre establishments to allot him more screens and he’s said to pressuring through a political biggie. Some theatres like Prasad’s IMAX have already made agreements with small films for 6 shows a day for 3 days and collected the rentals as well. But now, Siva Balaji is demanding those screens for his film saying that he has more attention and chances of footfalls than those films.

Those small filmmakers who paid advances and signed agreements are now standing in despair, with many theatre establishments bowing to Siva Balaji’s pressure, a source revealed. We have  to wait and see what happens to the number of screens and theatres of all those other movies in the fray.

Mega-Nandamuri Multi Starrer Called Off?

Share

Exactly a year ago, there was a buzz that has shaken film industry about a Mega and Nandamuri multi-starrer. And then, the script work of the film is going on and on, but nothing is coming out truly. So, what has happened to this film?

Director ML Kumar Chowdary scored a hit after a long time with routine masala flick “Pilla Nuvvuleni Jeevitham” and gave a boost to Sai Dharam Tej’s career. And then, he narrated a story to both Sai Dharam and Kalyan Ram, and they agreed to be part of the multi-starrer. Senior producer KS Rama Rao came on board to greenlight this ambitious project.

However, reports are coming that this project got shelved finally. A source revealed, “Director Chowdary is taking more time to complete the script than expected. THough he has narrated few versions, Kalyan Ram never liked them while Saidharam said a go always. With script not coming out, KS Ramarao decided to call it a day and closed the office where script work is going on”.

We have to see if someone from the team gives a clarity about this. But people who loved to watch the first Nandamuri and Mega multi-starrer are disappointed.
