After Arjun Reddy controversy, Congress Rajya Sabha MP V. Hanumantha Rao is back in news. VH this time has made sensational comments on KCR and his dream project of building a new secretariat for Telangana in Secunderabad.

Coming down heavily on KCR, VH stated that he doesn’t let him build a new secretariat. VH further said, “I’m ready to die. But I will not make this happen. KCR is behaving like a dictator. We will not tolerate it.” This is a strong statement coming from a senior leader.

Already several BJP leaders such as Kishan Reddy, Lakshman have strongly protested against KCR’s decision. Even TDP leaders are opposing KCR’s idea to build a new secretariat.

With Kodangal MLA A Revanth Reddy taking a plunge into the Congress party along with several other prominent Telugu Desam Party leaders, the Telangana Rashtra Samithi has started making attempts to attract the remaining TDP leaders so as to completely wipe out the TDP from Telangana.Following instructions from TRS chief and Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, the TRS ministers and senior leaders have begun approaching the TDP leaders.

On Wednesday, some TRS leaders approached Sattupalli MLA Sandra Venkata Veeraiah in the assembly and asked him to come into the TRS. But he politely refused saying he was comfortable in the TDP.“Why don’t you join the TDP and strengthen it?” he posed a counter question.Another senior leader and former MLA Revuri Prakash Reddy also admitted that he was under pressure from the TRS. He said he would continue to remain in the TDP till the last moment.

“If a situation arises where the TDP faces existential problem, I would rather retire from politics and sit at home, rather than joining any other party,” he said.Former MLA Dhanasari Anasuya alias Seethakka, who joined the Congress party along with Revanth, also said the TRS leaders tried to lure her into the ruling party till the eleventh hour.“They offered me money bags. But I said I would not compromise on the interests of my constituency people and hence, I chose the Congress,” she said.

Andhra Pradesh, which shared the top rank with Telangana in the country in Ease of Doing Business index, is understood to have slipped to 15th position, as the things stand now.While Telangana continued to retain the No. 1 position, Andhra Pradesh has fallen to 15th position in the EoDB, as per the latest information from the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry.The EoDB index is decided by the World Bank and Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) on the basis of States’ compliance with the 372 point Business reform Action Plan.

The centre added 32 additional reforms parameters this year to last year’s 340 points.Sources said while Telangana achieved 98 per cent compliance of the 372 recommendations of the Business Reform Action Plan proposed by the Union Government, as of now, AP is still a long way to go in achieving the compliance.Telangana State, which was placed in the 13th position in EoDB index in 2015, shot up to the top in 2016, through a series of reforms.

Though there is some more time in announcing the final ranks, it may not be possible for AP to come back to the No. 1 position.Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday expressed dissatisfaction over the progress of compliance in EoDB parametres.He pulled up state planning board official Kutumba Rao for lagging behind Telangana.

Rao is learnt to have told Naidu that there is still some more time and most of the states strategically upload the data only in the last moment.“We are sure we can retain our position,” Rao told Naidu.

In a heated debate in Assembly session over the construction of a new Secretariat of Telangana, KCR strongly vouched for the idea of constructing a new Secretariat in Secunderabad against to the existing secretariat on Tankbund.While Opposition opposed to the idea and protested strongly, KCR said in his own way, “Telangana secretariat is the worst (in shape) in India. If a fire accident takes place by chance, there is no space for a fire engine to move properly. The C-Block which has Chief Minister’s office is even worse. There is only two feet space behind the block.”

When BJP leaders Kishan Reddy and Lakshman have suggested to make repairs to the existing building and not to waste public money, KCR strongly countered saying that Modi had appreciated his idea of a new Secretariat. KCR also recalled how Modi won praise for constructing a new secretariat in Gandhi Nagar although there was a secretariat in Ahmedabad.

KCR has cited AP Secretariat as the example. “Have you seen the models of AP’s new secretariat? Shouldn’t we remain unchanged?” Clarifying that Vastu is not the reason for building new secretariat, KCR said that Vastu is just one of the many reasons.
