Ravi Teja’s “Raja The Great” showed tremendous hold even on its fourth day (Day 4 numbers were 85 percent of Day 3’s, which is a phenomenal hold), and collected a gross of 4.5 Cr, with a share of 2.82 Cr from the two Telugu states. The 4 days total gross stands at over Rs 24 Cr, with a distributor share of 15.73 Cr in the Telugu states.

At worldwide box office, the film rakes in a share of nearly 20 Cr and grossed approx 31 Cr by the end of it’s 4 days run.

In US, the Ravi Teja starrer reportedly raked in $280K by Saturday.

With superb advance bookings all over on Sunday, the film is expected to rake in bigger amount than Saturday’s.

South India’s top actress Shruti Haasan has been roped in to play the lead role in the movie Sangamitra. Touted to be a big budget periodic drama to be directed by Sundar C, the film has been planned on a massive budget of Rs 200 crores. But the news made waves when Shruti walked out of the project.

While the spicy diva got especially to perform some daredevil stunts in the film including sword fights, she called it a day from the project without disclosing any reasons. Also, the makers have released the posters of the film that featured Shruti painted Sangamitra. And from last few months, names of many actresses have come out including Hansika, Nayantara and also Disha Patani.

However, the makers locked Bollywood beauty Disha Patani finally which they made it official through an announcement. Though the talks have been on for some time, the makers confirmed the news officially today. There has been huge criticism across the internet calling Disha Patani a poor choice to essay the role of Sangamitra.

This hottie has essayed glamorous roles in the past in films like Loafer failed to impress the audience. Also, none of her films ended up impressively at the box office though she managed to do only a few. In that way, Shruti Haasan’s replacement is an utter disappointment, says cinema lovers.

Producer Dil Raju and team has already started celebrating the success of the film showcasing the film’s exemplary performance in the Telugu states and neighboring territories. But, what people are ignoring is the film’s weak show in US, where the film could so far pool just $200K even after registering Ravi Teja’s career highest gross from premieres. The average word of mouth has played spoilsport for the film’s prospects in overseas and led the film to take nosedive on the second day itself.

In local market however, the film is gaining from strength to strength. The release strategy especially, more than the content, helped the film at box office. The film was released on non-holiday, but decent collections were ensured since it was the opening day. The film made merry on the second day, which was Deepavali holiday. By putting up impressive show on the third day, Friday, and also indicating an exceptional Saturday and Sunday in store, Raja The Great is predicted to post humongous first weekend total.

The film has so far collected 13 Cr share from the Telugu states and 16 Cr overall. A 23-24 Cr first weekend looks well possible. The film reportedly needs to collect 32 Cr worldwide share to be called a safe venture.

Legendary actress Savitri’s biopic Mahanati in Nag Ashwin direction, produced by Swapna Cinema, Vyjayanthi Movies is presently shooting the epic Maya Bazar portions at a specially erected set in RFC, Hyderabad. Magnum opus Maya Bazar is a special project in Savitri’s illustrative career wherein she played beautiful Sasirekha with elan.

‘Till date we find many inspirations of Maya Bazar in Indian cinema. Finally, we came to the epic moment of shooting Maya Bazar scenes for Mahanati. Our art director Shivam and art consultant senior Thota Tharani built an overwhelmingly impressive Maya Bazar set in RFC replicating the old one.

Telugu cinema all time greatest director Singeetam Srinivas Rao who worked as Assistant Director for Maya Bazar film graced our shooting spot. He bubbled with energy, sat with us and walked around appreciating the team. He was in complete with the set, delivered an inspirational speech.

Sensational Krish was also present on sets playing the character of director KV Reddy garu while Tharun Bhascker reprised Singeetam’s younger character. When Mohan Babu as Ghatotkacha SV Ranga Rao walked into the set, it was a goose bump moment for all of us.
