Maverick director Ram Gopal Varma is known for his upright attitude and he is not much bothered even if his films fetch bad results. He prefers to gain popularity through controversies and he is currently focused on NTR’s biopic which is the talk of Tollywood now.

Ever since Balakrishna announced that he will reprise his father NTR in his biopic, RGV did not waste much time and is set to direct NTR’s biopic in his own style. He titled the film ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’ and announced that it would start rolling from February next year. The film focus on NTR’s life after his second wife Lakshmi Parvathi entered into it. Needless to say, it will be more of a political angle of NTR than his cinema and philanthropic side.

What if RGV gets some warnings from anyone, including NTR’s family members are political heirs to not make this film? When media quizzed him with the question, he today said, “People are warned not to smoke from the past fifty years but no one is bothered. It’s quite difficult to impress all the sections of people as some may accept it and some may reject it. In this democracy, everyone has the right to direct the biopic of legendary actor and politician NTR. I did my analysis and I will direct the aspects which impressed me from NTR’s life”.

This statement might surely embarrass someone, but Varma further added that he will not take up Balakrishna’s offer to direct the biopic. “I will not direct Balakrishna even if he asks me, as I have Lakshmi’s NTR and this is the only biopic of NTR I will helm for the kind of interest I got”, he says.

We have to see how admirers and family members of NTR will react to these statements of Varma.

The complete cast of one of the biggest multistarrers of South Film Industry has been announced, and no Telugu hero features in it.

After the debacle of ‘Cheliyaa’, veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam is working on a huge multistarrer. Natural Star Nani was reportedly in talks to play one of the lead roles but he somehow couldn’t make it to the final cast.

The yet-to-be-titled film will star Tamil actors Simbu, Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, actresses Jyothika, Aishwarya Rajesh and Malayalam hero Fahadh Faasil, making it one of the craziest multistarrers, especially in Tamil and Malayalam film industries. The film will have a sizable audience in the Telugu states too owing to the brand of Mani Ratnam and popularity of cast.

Coming to the crew, Mani Ratnam has once again assembled some of the top technicians. Music maestro AR Rahman, ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan and multiple national award winning editor Sreekar Prasad will work for this Mani Ratnam’s star-studded project. The film will reportedly go on floors in January 2018.

It is known that Chandrababu Naidu has directed the CRDA officials to take suggestions of film director SS Rajamouli in finalizing the designs of the Assembly and other govt. buildings in Amaravati.

Taking an alleged dig at this, RGV suggested the AP govt. to conduct all their Assembly sessions against green matte screen and then take the help of Rajamouli to do the CG work for telecast purpose. He claimed that his mindblowing idea will not only save crores of rupees for the state govt. but also beat the look of all the assemblies in the whole world as Rajamouli can create a ‘Bahubalian’ Assembly with CG.

Varma’s alleged comments against AP Govt. or CM Chandrababu Naidu have gained prominence in the wake of the director declaring his plans of making a biopic on NTR, with the title, ‘Lakshmi’s NTR’. RGV announced that the film would be bankrolled by a YSRCP leader. The film is rumored to take potshots at NTR and Chandrababu’s allegedly strained relation during the last stages of the former’s lifetime.
