The 39-year old anchor turned actress passed away today in Bengaluru after she turned critically unwell. She is said to have been in coma from the past three weeks.
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, Mallika’s original name was Abhinava after which she renamed to Mallika for tv shows. She has done number of television shows and films during 1997-2004.

Seemingly hurt by the negative response his recently released Malayalam film, ‘Solo’ has got, young hero Dulquer Salmaan (of ‘Ok Bangaram’ fame) has begged people to not kill the film.
Released on October 5, ‘Solo’ has largely received negative response. In fact, after facing severe negative feedback from the audience, the film was given a different climax, without the consent or knowledge of the director. Coming out in support of his director and also to share with audience the passion and hard work put in by the film’s team, Dulquer Salmaan has written an emotional note and shared it on Facebook.
He called the film a passionate experiment to entertain audience with a ‘different’ cinema. And, the young hero begged audience to go and watch the film without any preconceptions.
“I beg you. Don’t kill “Solo”. Give it a go with an open mind and you will have a blast with the film,” he wrote.

Get ready to be astonished as the long-awaited trailer of maverick filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next magnum opus, ‘Padmavati’ has been unleashed.
The little over three-minutes trailer shows glimpses of the story of Rani Padmini aka Padmavati. Deepika Padukone, who features in the titular role, looks to have done complete justice to her character with her regal elegance. Shahid Kapoor, as Rajput king Maharawal Ratan Singh, Padmavati’s husband looks intense, fierce and ethereal.
However, the scene-stealer is Ranveer Singh, who essays the role of Alauddin Khilji. He looks every bit of the face of barbarism, and gives goosebumps each time he appears in the trailer. He makes an appearance after a minute into the trailer, and looks utterly impressive as an obsessive and ambitious invader with his kohled eyes, flowing tresses and blood-stained face. He creates much menacing impact even without uttering a single word in the trailer.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali is known for masterful storytelling, grandeur and being a visionary director. He seems to have painted another visual masterpiece with ‘Padmavati’. The title of Pawan Kalyan-Trivikram’s upcoming film is almost confirmed as ‘Agnathavaasi’ as the film’s producer has registered the title with Film Chamber. An official announcement is expected to be out this Diwali festival.
It is heard that the film’s opulent and influential protagonist hides his identity and lives like a common man for a cause, thus the title justification. The line may sound similar to Attharintiki Daredi’s but this new film is said to be a complete action film unlike the former while relied on family sentiment.

TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu has reportedly taken a stern class to the Working President of party’s Telangana sect, A Revanth Reddy for his arbitrary decision of forming an alliance with the Congress party.
For those who don’t know, Telangana TDP leaders joined hands with Congress party in the recently-concluded elections to workers unions in Singareni Collieries Company limited. The ruling TRS party affiliated union registered a resounding victory, thumping the union backed by TDP & Congress together.
Taking a serious note of the issue, Chandrababu met Telangana TDP leaders and cautioned them, especially Revanth Reddy on taking such pivotal decisions without consulting him. The AP CM reminded them that Congress has been a long-standing opposition of TDP and that never in the history that the two parties joined forces. He told that a careless move like forming alliance with Congress might hamper their party’s image in AP too.
In the two hour long meeting, Naidu asked the TTDP leaders to stop making comments on political alliance with other parties. He also advised them not to provoke ruling party leaders including Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao through controversial comments.
The TDP Supremo also objected the leaders’s plan to sail with ruling TRS party. He told them that as KCR weakened the TDP in Telangana by poaching all senior leaders and legislators, it was unethical to join hands with TRS. Naidu asked leaders to learn lessons from the experiences and strengthen the party in Telangana.
Remake ‘Guru’ Venky seems to be back to his forte – a remake. Venky, who always opts for a remake instead of a straight film, is contemplating to sign one more remake. The film in question is none other than popular Hindi film ‘Hindi Medium’ that won critical acclaim as well as commercial success.

Noted actor, writer, playwright MVS Haranatha Rao passed away on Monday in Ongole, Prakasam district, at his residence. Haranatha Rao suffered with a major cardiac arrest and breathed his last.
He is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter. His elder son is working as an assistant director while his daughter is working as a software engineer in a MNC.
He contributed as a story and dialogue writer for award winning films like Swayamkrushi, Pratighatana, and Sutradharulu. He also played significant characters in Rakshasudu and Swayamkrushi. He won four Nandi Awards.
Noted writer, dialogue writer Marudhuri Raja is Haranatha Rao’s younger brother. Interested in theatre, he worked in several plays before making his debut in films through well-known director T. Krishna. Since then, there was no looking back for him. Although the film industry is based in Hyderabad, MVS settled in Ongole. Senior Telugu hero Rajasekhar escaped unhurt from a car accident happened on PV Express Highway at Rajendranagar in Hyderabad in the early hours of Monday.
As per police reports, the actor’s car rammed into builder Rami Reddy’s car which was coming in the opposite direction. Following a verbal altercation, the builder reportedly lodged a complaint and the issue reached Rajendranagar police station. Alleging that Rajasekhar was driving his car under the influence of alcohol, Rami Reddy insisted that he should undergo breathalyzer test. The police then made Rajasekhar undertake the test.
Upon learning the issue, Rajasekhar’s wife Jeevitha rushed to the police station. She reportedly apologized to Rami Reddy and thus made him withdraw his complaint. She informed that the actor didn’t sustain any injuries as the accident was minor. She reportedly claimed that Rajasekhar’s breathalyzer test ascertained he didn’t consume alcohol.
Jeevitha added that her husband had been a little depressed ever since the death of his mother recently and termed it as the reason for the accident.
