Ahead of the release of his highly anticipated film, Spyder, Superstar Mahesh Babu has tried to clear the misleading expectations created by the ‘SPYder Glimpse’ teaser.

Released as the first official promo of the film, the Glimpse teaser had a Robotic Spider crawling up to the shoulders of Mahesh, who then turns back and hushes it. The teaser gave birth to speculations that the robotic spider plays a crucial role in the film and that the entire film revolves around it. Later, that spider wasn’t shown in any of the promos, not even in the trailer, leaving audience confused.

Mahesh has now clarified that there won’t be any robotic spider in the film. ‘The spider you saw in the glimpse was created specifically to present that promo in a unique way. There is no such spider in the film,’ Mahesh divulged. The superstar added that he was making the clarification as he didn’t want audience come to theatres keeping certain expectations regarding that robotic spider and get confused and disappointed after not finding what they had expected.

Mahesh revealed that there were several other exciting elements in the film and that they intentionally kept them guarded in order to give maximum thrill to audiences in the theatre. He promised that SPYder will entertain audience as an edge of the seat thriller.

People who have watched Jai Lava Kusa couldn’t help but laugh out loud during the scenes of comedian Priyadarshi in the movie. Seen as Obulesh Reddy alias Obu, Priyadarshi is supposed to get married to Raashi Khanna in the film. There is enough fun on Priyadarshi’s character in the film.

Now gossip mongers in T-town speculating that this character could be made fun of real-life character. Talk is that actor Nandamuri Tarak Ratna (NTR) is called as Obulesh aka Obu in family and relative circuits. And Priyadarshi’s character in Jai Lava Kusa could be named after Tarak Ratna and made pun of him.

While no one openly agrees or disagrees with what is being circulated by gossip mongers, it is indeed shocking that how a comedy track in Jai Lava Kusa is linked to Nandamuri family. Tarak Ratna happens to be NTR’s cousin and is close to actor Balakrishna.

Only NTR knows what is truth. For now, it is just a rumour in tinsel ville.

Ever since Siva Balaji is adjudged as the Bigg Boss Telugu season 1 title winner, there has been speculation that Pawan Kalyan fans could be behind his victory.

The enormous votes that polled in favour of Siva Balaji is now linked to Balaji’s connection with Pawan Kalyan during the shooting of Katamarayudu. Siva Balaji is seen as one of the four younger brothers of Pawan Kalyan in the Telugu remake of Tamil superhit Veeram.

Even during the film’s promotions, Siva Balaji tried his best to garner the attention of Pawan and his fans. While that may not worked then, it seems to have worked now during the Bigg Boss final voting.

Talk is that Pawan fans have voted in large numbers to Siva Balaji and shown their strength once again. While a section of Pawan fans also supported Hari Teja, however, majority of them have voted Balaji that changed his prospects in the Bigg Boss making him the final winner of the reality TV show.

After witnessing the worldwide success of Baahubali and realizing the potential and reach of an Indian film, a handful of filmmakers have announced big budget films. The first film to aspire to become another Baahubali is Tamil filmmaker Sundar C’s period drama, ‘Sangamithra’, a 200+ Cr multilingual project.

The project was announced with Shruti Haasan in the titular role. Later, the makers succeeded in creating buzz for the film by launching Sangamithra amidst lot of hype at Cannes International Film Festival in May this year. Just when it seemed the makers had a potential cast and crew on board to get rolling, Shruthi walked out of the project citing makers’ failure in handing her over the full script and details of shooting schedules.

Since then, the makers have been trying to find an apt replacement. On one side, names of actresses such as Nayanthara, Anushka, Tamanna, Hansika etc. kept emerging and on the other side, rumors started spreading that the project was shelved. As per the latest reports, the project is still alive and they have signed Disha Patani to play the titular warrior princess character.

This may seem like a wild rumor but Disha is likely to have been finalized as director Sundar’s wife Kushbu has confirmed that the film would roll from December.

Now imagine Disha Patani, someone who has yet to prove herself as an actress, carrying this 200+ Cr film on her shoulders. Isn’t it an audacious decision to sign Disha for a role which demanded a popular actress like Nayan, Anushka or Shruti Haasan? Even a potential story may fail to keep audience engaged with a clumsy lead actor. Even the male leads – Tamil actors Arya and Jayam Ravi are unknown faces outside Tamil Nadu, where they are counted among mid-range heroes. Cautious and wise decisions need to be taken when investing such mammoth budget or Kollywood will have another ‘Puli’ (Vijay starrer).

A couple of months back it is Allu Arjun who questioned the integrity of ‘few’ film critics by mocking their ability to rate a movie through stars with whatever limited film knowledge they have. And now, Jr NTR also joined this bandwagon saying that ‘few’ film critics are passing bad comments on a patient who is critically ill and in ICU. Thereby he compared a newly released film with a patient and stated that audiences are doctors. Simply put, why this criticism and crying on critics, dear stars?

For the kind of exaggerated comments on critics which they deliver with real emotion, that’s why they are actors know, definitely fans of Allu Arjun and Jr NTR felt super happy for their critical comments on critics. But under that veil, they forget the fact that their cry is useless. In the sense of the content they delivered, this bashing of critics yields nothing.

If we look at DJ Duvvada Jagannadham, the film has a typical 80s 90s kind of storyline with nothing new to offer. And calling that as a super special commercial thriller is heights of stupidity. Someone killing all those evil-spirited-men in the name of cleansing the society sounds just rubbish in this present day. What is the civil responsibility the hero and director feels about the establishment, government and ruling bodies by making such stories as films? At the same time critics showered praises on Bunny’s dances and the way he carried that Brahmin character, did you remember that?

Similarly, if we look at Jai Lava Kusa, after watching the whole movie, one feels what the connection between first-half and second-half of the film is. The entire bank episode is a different film, and the second-half Jai episode sounds like another film. Three look-alike twins wearing another one’s role for impressing a girl and impressing voters seems an old-school idea entirely. Also how many times we see a Telugu boy going to Orissa, Bihar and other massy-states to become big dadas? Oh, where is versatility by the way? But almost all the critics who are not convinced with the story has heaped appreciation on Jai character unanimously. Wonder how NTR forgot that.

Both DJ Duvvada Jagannadham and Jai Lava Kusa ran well in the first place because the heroes are superstars and almost all the available theatres in Telugu states are filled with these films itself during the time of release. And as viewers watched, will it make these films classics and history-makers? No. But correcting the mistakes in these films which are pointed by critics will bring the best output next time. Same critics bashed by these heroes earlier appreciated the likes of S/o Satyamurthy and Janata Garage. So it is the content that is generating criticism or appreciation but not mindset of critics.

On the other hand, critics appreciated soulful films like Fidaa, intense movies like Arjun Reddy and heartful comedy like Ami Tumi. Those films didn’t have an elaborate storyline or new subject, but there is refreshing emotion. At least such emotion is also not found in DJ and JLK we have to say. So, rather blasting critics, why not Allu Arjun and NTR find some new stories, refreshing emotions, and some Oscar-range-scripts to entertain audiences? Start thinking heroes!!
