Niharika & Sumanth’s ‘Happy Wedding’
After the failure of her debut film ‘Oka Manasu’, Mega family heroine Niharika Konidela took a huge sabbatical before signing her second film.
Happening production house UV Creations has now officially announced the second Telugu film of Niharika. Titled ‘Happy Wedding’, the film stars Niharika and struggling young hero Sumanth Ashwin in lead roles. “Happy Wedding” will be directed by Lakshman Karya and the film will have music by Rockstar Devi Sri Prasad. The regular shoot will commence from October 4.
Niharika is currently shooting for a Tamil film starring Vijay Sethupati in lead role.
After Naidu, Modi Assigns A Responsibility to Rajamouli
After AP CM Chandrababu Naidu assigned director SS Rajamouli with the task of helping the CRDA officials with capital city designs, now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked him to promote his newly lunched mission.
On Friday, Rajamouli received a letter from Modi asking for his support to the “Swachhata Hi Seva” mission, an initiative intended to promote cleanliness in the country, that is being launched to commemorate Gandhi Jayanti.
“Being a leading and prominent personality from the Entertainment Industry, you motivate many across the country. Swachhata being an important aspect for the growth of society needs stimulus from people of your stature. I Personally invite you to lend your support to the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ movement and dedicate some time for the cause of a Swachh Bharat. Your participation will further inspire others to be a part of the movement,” Modi mentioned in the letter to Rajamouli.
Sharing the letter on Twitter, Rajamouli appreciated the PM for this great initiative and pledged to do his best.
‘With great power comes great responsibility’ – proving this iconic statement true, the responsibilities on Rajamouli’s shoulders grew after he had become a national celebrity, courtesy ‘Baahubali’.
India’s Official Entry to Oscars 2018
On Friday, the Film Federation of India (FFI) announced Bollywood film ‘Newton’ as India’s official entry to the Oscar Awards 2018. The film was unanimously chosen from 26 entries this year, said member of FFI’s selection committee, headed by Telugu filmmaker C V Reddy.
‘Newton’ is a political satire revolving around an honest election officer’s attempt to conduct a free and fair poll in a conflict-hit area of Chhatisgarh state.
The film starring National Award winning actor Rajkummar Rao in the lead role was released in theatres today. It has earlier been showcased at various film festivals where it received overwhelming response.
Poor Tune, Poor Dance And Poor Tamanna
When it comes to an item song, sometimes the song will click huge, but the song’s visuals might not evoke interest. Sometimes a hot heroine will pour all the glamour for the song to entice viewers even though the song’s tune is average. And sometimes, the whole song is likely to become a super hit.
Ace composer Devi Sri Prasad always composed some terrific item numbers like Aah Ante Amalapuram, Na Pere Kanchanamala, Kevvu Keka and Pakka Local as well. Most of these songs are a hit with the tune itself, while the visuals of the songs are also stunning. While Gabbar Singh’s Kevvu Keka was heated up with Malaika Arora’s glamour, Pakka Local became an eye-feast with Kajal’s never seen hottest side. Though Kajal flaunted her curves many such times, the manner this song was choreographed probably projected her differently altogether.
Coming to the present, we have Jai Lava Kusa’s Swing Zara song which featured milky siren Tamanna Bhatia in the lead. Neither the tune is impressive, nor Tamanna’s dances nor her looks. Especially Tamanna is putting a lot of fat these days, and it is quite visible in the so-called bad choreography of the song. Even Jr NTR’s dances inside this songs are also not appealing as he has shown such side many times.
In all likelihood, DSP should compose better item songs and Tamanna should lose weight immediately if she wants to flaunt her glamour in item songs yet again. On the whole, milky siren disappointed her fans other day.
Cancelling Benefit Shows Saved Jai Lava Kusa
Jr NTR’s latest movie released other day with critics liking the hero’s performance a lot while the story hasn’t convinced them much. However regular film audiences loved the comedy-laced first half and emotion-centric second half a lot and made the film a memorable one for Nandamuri brothers. Finding this happening, the likes of Allu Arvind decided to cancel benefit show and premiere screenings of their films and that helped even ordinary content like DJ Duvvadajagannadham do well.
Now, if we have to talk about Jai Lava Kusa, the film would have settled with 2.5 to 2.75 stars in case if Premieres are screened. In that case, a flop talk would have come in no time, and that would have affected the film’s Day One collections severely. Thereby the prospects at the box office would have got tampered. To avoid all that from happening, JLK team simply canceled all the Premiere and Benefit shows, and now that sprang terrific luck for them.
It seems like Jr NTR has scored his hat-trick now with Jai Lava Kusa after films like Nannaku Prematho and Janata Garage did extremely well.

Ilayathalapathy Vijay is back testing his luck with his next film titled Mersal. This is the second time Atlee is teaming up with Vijay after a blockbuster like Therii. The movie’s teaser has been released yesterday and it took the internet by storm.
The teaser clocked 1 million in no time and is all set to cross 10 million views in less than a day which is huge for a South Indian film. Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen are the female leads in the movie.
Mersal teaser managed to get 5 lakh likes in less than two hours which is huge. The most liked teaser on youtube has 6 lakh likes and Mersal crossed in no time and is still counting. Mersal teaser got 6.9 lakh likes till date and 9.3 million views.
AR Rahman’s background score along with Vijay’s mannerisms on screen have been widely appreciated. Produced by Thenandal Films, Mersal has been aimed for October 18th release during Diwali this year.

Living up to the massive expectations, young tiger NTR’s new release, ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ has set up Non-Baahubali record on Day 1. The emotional entertainer in which NTR essayed Triple role, collected a humongous Rs 42 Cr gross on its first day in theatres at Worldwide box office, thus created a new Non-Baahubali record beating Megastar Chiranjeevi’s ‘Khaidi No.150’.

Jai Lava Kusa however fell short of ‘Baahubali 2’, Khaidi No.150, Baahubali and Katamarayudu in the Telugu states on Day 1 when taken distributor share as parameter. The NTR-starrer lost significant amount towards the newly hiked GST tax and hence probably fell short of the above films.
The worldwide gross (42 Cr) however places ‘Jai Lava Kusa’ only behind ‘Baahubali 2′ in all time Day 1 grossers’ list.
Coming to the US premieres, after compiling collections from all the unreported locations, Jai Lava Kusa collected a huge $590K from premieres, just edging past Janatha Garage ($584K) and falling just short of Sardaar Gabbar Singh ($615K).
As per early trade reports, JLK has taken decent start on Day 2 in both domestic and overseas markets.
