Anushka Coming Out With Pawan & Balayya

Share

The next big releases will be at Sankranthi and already speculations began on movies hitting screens for that festive time. Pawan Kalyan Trivikram’s film announced January 10 as release date and Balakrishna’s new film also may join the race.

Though many other films are expected to share the release date, one after another are moving their release dates to summer. Mahesh babu – Koratala film Bharath Ane Nenu will not be coming out for Sankranthi, giving a way to another big film in Sankranthi race. As per the latest update, Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam too moved its outing date to somewhere in summer, leaving only Pawan and Balakrishna’s films in race.

UV creations, producers of Bhagmathi decided to utilize the vacant space given by star films in January. They released Express Raja and Mahanubhavudu against big films and now Bhagmathi too will lock horns with Pawan Kalyan and Balayya’s films at Sankranthi.

Pilla Zamindar fame Ashok is directing this film and as rumored, it is not a historical film, but a thriller. Anushka enjoyed a huge success with Arundhati earlier in Sankranthi releases. Producers are expecting to repeat the same sentiment, but we have to see if Bhaagmathi can really trouble Pawan and Balayya. For now, it’s fixed that Anushka is coming out with Pawan & Balayya at Sankranthi.

Anasuya Fires On Fans: No Aunty, No Ugly

Share

For reasons unknown, anchor Anasuya is always the centre of attraction for many controversies and trolls. Sometimes she unknowingly creates controversies, while other times she gets pulled into them. After taking a dig at Arjun Reddy recently, she now faced some issues during a Facebook LIVE chat as well.

Other day when Anasuya started a facebook session, a netizen went out of bounds to question the anchor about her makeup-less look. “You’re looking ugly without makeup. Tough to watch” someone commented. Reacting quite harshly on the unexpected comment, Anasuya said, “How come he will comment on her makeup when she’s getting close to fans through these video chats. In olden days fans used to throng at gates of houses to catch just one glimpse of their favourite star. But now due to technology, the gap between celeb and fan is blurred. Rather using words like ugly, Anasuya asked them to not look at celebs that way”.

At the same time, someone asked her how she’s feeling to play ‘menattha’ of Mega hero Ram Charan in the upcoming film Rangasthalam 1985, Anasuya gave another harsh reply. “I’m not playing the role of aunt to Charan. But, it’s a crucial role in the movie and I’m not going to reveal how the character is going to be as producer and director will not like her to talk about it much in advance”.

To Avoid Pain, He Started Shooting Next

Share

A talk about a star hero is right now doing rounds in Telugu circles regarding the way he starts shooting of films. Actually, he’s a good lover of taking vacations in exotic foreign locales but now he has not indulged in that. Here is why they say he preferred not to take any break.

Actually couple of months ago, after looking at how some scenes have turned out, this hero actually started to sense some sort of doubt about film’s prospects at the box office. Then he asked the director for a full preview of the movie at a time even when the background score work is not completed. That did the unthinkable to hero’s plans.

Understanding that the film might not work well at box office, the hero came up with a plan to avoid the pain. Generally, he won’t come out of the house for 2-3 months if his film flops. But now he has started shooting for another film without any break, such that he would forget about this debacle, says film industry sources.

Zero Hits Beauty in Superstar’s Film

Share

Of course she is hard working, talented and gorgeous, but on top of all this, slender babe Pooja Hegde seems to be the luckiest actress in film industry. She hasn’t yet scored a proper hit but she continues to grab biggies.

The first goldmine she hit was ‘Mohenjo Daro’. A 3-film old South actress getting the opportunity to star opposite Hrithik Roshan in one of the highest budgeted films became a reality in the case of Pooja. The film however turned out to be one of the biggest disasters.

She then grabbed the opportunity to romance Allu Arjun in another biggie, DJ. The film reestablished her career in South.

Now, Pooja is all set to go back to Bollywood as she has been offered Salman Khan’s ‘Race 3’. Not many actresses dare to turn down a Salman-starrer how insignificant the role offered may be. Pooja, who has a disaster in her repertoire, seek a big hit to announce her comeback in Bollywood, and who better than box office behemoth Salman Khan can guarantee a hit to her.

As per reports, Pooja is keen to sign ‘Race 3’ even though she has been asked to play second fiddle to Sri Lankan bombshell Jacqueline Fernandez in the film.

Pooja is currently acting in Bellamkonda Srinivas’s untitled film.

First Time, KCR ‘Defeated’ In Opinion Poll

Share

The opinion poll conducted by Telangana Congress on the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s proposal to construct a new secretariat at Bison Polo grounds in Secunderabad received shocking results.

More than 95 percent people opposed the KCR plan to shift the existing Secretariat. They pointed out the new Secretariat in the busy Secunderabad will  create traffic problem. The sports grounds  around the Bison Polo grounds will also lose its existence.

Of 18,460 people who participated in the People’s Ballot,  17,892 (97.13%) hopposed the new Secretariat. Only 387 people favoured KCR  decision to construct a new Secretariat. While 142 respondents remained neutral, 39 votes were rejected as the respondents wrote slogans against the TRS Government in the ballot paper.

TPCC President  N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said  KCR was wasting money in the name of new new secretariat. The  present Secretariat was well equipped and sufficient to run the government.

Mahanubhavudu Movie Review

Share

Maruthi who has successfully made a hilarious entertainer like Bhale Bhale Magadivoi with a protagonist suffering from ‘forgetfulness’, came up with another typical characterization in Mahanubhavudu. Here the protagonist suffers from OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), which puts his love to the ultimate test.

Story :

Anand (Sharwanand) is a software engineer who has OCD. He wants everything to be perfect and clean. He will not eat something made by his mother if she is suffering from illness. Anand falls in love with Meghana (Mehreen), who is okay with his obsession. But things get problematic as Anand’s obsession comes in the way of their love. He is thrown into a situation where he has to overcome his obsession to succeed in love.

Performances:

Sharwanand’s comedy timing is getting better with each film. He is at ease in a typical character that gives ample scope for comedy. He is the right choice for the lead character and did complete justice to it. Mehreen Kaur is alright as the female lead. Her performance is not up to the mark in key scenes. Nasser is decent as the heroine’s father. Vennela Kishore offers few laughs as the hero’s sidekick.

Technicalities:

Maruthi who has messed it up in his previous outing Babu Bangaram made sure to get the characterization and situations right this time. The film’s treatment is similar to that of his previous blockbuster Bhale Bhale Magadivoi. His way of creating subtle humor using the character’s obsession is laudable. Also he is good at creating emotional scenes without going away from the concept. He did a fairly decent job in making it a ‘clean’ entertainer.

Thaman’s music is good. A couple of songs are very good on screen. Background score also is impressive. Cinematography and the production design made it look like a costly project. Editing could have been better in second half. Production values are neat.

Thumbs Up:

  • Comedy
  • Concept
  • Sharwanand

Thumbs Down:

  • Predictable Ending
  • Drag in second half

Analysis:

There are a handful films in various languages about OCD. None of our filmmakers made a film with the protagonist suffering from this disorder. Maruthi likes to create humor with unusual characterizations. He is a fine storyteller who has a firm grip over commercial elements. Like Bhale Bhale Magadivoi, the protagonist in Mahanubhavudu faces problems with his disorder that comes as the greatest obstacle for his love.

Director took his time to establish the lead character’s obsession with cleanliness. He goes overboard at times, but the free flowing comedy keeps the viewers entertained. Later the love story also is dealt in a decent way. The conflict comes at the intermission point where the heroine realizes that it is absolutely impossible to lead a happy life with the OCD guy. The conflict point is predictable and later on it takes the predictable route where the hero goes to the heroine’s village to win her back.

Despite being predictable, the situations in the village are hilarious. Maruthi used the OCD concept very well in making this part an enjoyable one. Every scene in the beginning of the village episode is extremely hilarious. However, things get too predictable as the story moves towards the climax. Electing the village Sarpanch by conducting wrestling match is so nineteen eighties kind of stuff. Climax of the film is not up to the mark. Maruthi should have taken care of the ending that is very much cliched and predictable.

Mahanubhavudu has its share of flaws and weaknesses, but also has ample entertainment to keep the viewers entertained for most part. It is a clean entertainer that can be enjoyed with the families during this festive season. With weak opposition, this film should make the most of festive advantage at the box office. On a whole, Mahanubhavudu is a satisfactory comedy that offers a few genuine laughs. You may watch it.

Verdict: Clean Fun.

Akhil Missed Mahanubhavudu

Share

Young director Maruthi took a U turn from adult comedies and it was with Bhale Bhale Magadivoy, his films witness clean content and healthy entertainment. Young and upcoming actors too have been quite interested in working with Maruthi.

His next outing Mahanubhavudu completed shoot and it released all over today. Sharwanand and Mehreen played the lead roles in the film and Sharwa played a person suffering with a disorder called OCD.

Maruthi revealed that he got the idea four years ago and started working on the script. He narrated it to Akhil and he loved the script. However the film did not materialize. Maruthi wanted to do the film with Akhil but later Sharwa came on to the board.

Maruthi revealed that he made enough changes after Sharwa gave his nod. Mahanubhavudu has been receiving decent response all over and Maruthi is all set to direct Naga Chaitanya in his next which is said to be a clean love story laced with entertainment.
