After the recent victories in Nandyal and Kakinada, the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, the buoyant TDP has intensified the process of Operation Akarsh in the areas in the state where it is weak. 21 MLAs belonging to the Opposition YSRC party have already shifted loyalties to TDP, and going by the ongoing buzz in political circles, another YCP sitting MLA is keen to join TDP.
YSRCP has a stronghold in the areas surrounding the state capital, Amaravati in Guntur district, where it won 5 seats in the 2014 general election. Its candidate, Gopireddy Srinivasa Reddy, who contested from the Narasaraopeta constituency, trumped the TDP candidate in 2014 general elections with a huge majority of 16,000+ votes. Now, speculations have gathered momentum that Gopireddy is in discussions to ditch YCP and join TDP, and the reason for his mulling over changing party is the alleged pressure being mounted by YCP chief Jaganmohan Reddy.
Despite he won the last election with a huge majority, Gopireddy is said to be unsure of getting ticket for 2019 election as he is sceptical of Jagan giving more prominence to Kasu Krishna Reddy, the son of former minister Kasu Venkatakrishna Reddy. Buzz in YCP circles say that although Jagan has appointed Mahesh as the party in-charge of Gurajala at present, he will be given the Narasaraopeta ticket for 2019 election, keeping Gopireddy aside.Noticing the opportunity, TDP, which is relatively weak in the area, has reportedly assured Gopireddy of giving him party ticket for coming elections. Weighing his prospects in both the parties, Gopireddy is reportedly keen to join TDP very soon.
Venkaiah’s Unending Love For Telugu States
Becoming the Vice President of India has hardly reduced Venkaiah Naidu’s bonding with Telugu states or his rather overt love for them.And everything that has transpired from the time he was nominated as a candidate to now, has proven the same beyond doubt.To begin with, when he was declared as the potential vice presidential candidate, he got his share of felicitations done in both Telugu-speaking states.
Just when it was felt that his visits to Andhra and Telangana would be reduced drastically, Venkaiah flew in for public felicitations. And barely 10 days after that, he spoke at the international law meet held at the Nalsar University of Law.Soon, he will be attending the function wherein director SS Rajamouli would be conferred with ANR award. And come October, he will once again come to Andhra. So, if one does the math, in the three months after becoming vice president, Venkaiah has come five times to both the states.
Now, every time the Vice President visits, it means that his entourage will follow. Military helicopters, his personal staff, administrative staff, all cost crores of rupees per visit. But since he is the vice president, there will be no tabs.However, in the past, when Shankar Dayal Sharma was the vice president, he frequently flew to Madhya Pradesh and after a point, his visits came under the radar. So Venkaiah sir, better watch out.

NTR Not Happy With Star Maa?
It is a known fact that the ratings of Maa TV have gone up after it was acquired by Star TV Network and changed to Star Maa.The main reason for the growing popularity of Star Maa is not because it is now a subsidiary of Star TV, but because of the hit talk for Bigg Boss reality show, which was the first major programme after the channel was acquired by Star TV.However, the status has started falling down of late, thanks to the dwindling ratings of Bigg Boss. This is the reason for the growing disgruntlement of NTR on Star Maa.
He is of the view that the ratings have been showing downtrend only because of the style of functioning of Star Maa local head.That is precisely why, NTR is said to be in second thoughts in signing the agreement for the second season of Bigg Boss Telugu version, slated for telecast in next summer.
So, what’s has gone wrong? The person who is now the local head of Star Maa does not have a media background. He is, no doubt, highly educated and talented, but all his calculations would run around revenue generation, rather than achieving higher viewership and how much fame the programme has generated.

Besides, he has decided to telecast the repeat of the same episode immediately and the back-to-back repeat of it the following day.This naturally led to drastic fall in viewership and ratings. It is learnt NTR has decided to put forth certain conditions before signing the agreement for the second season of Bigg Boss. If it doesn’t work out, he will conveniently opt out from the show by conveying the message that he had done his best on the small screen with a good show.Otherwise, if the channel head agrees to his conditions, he would continue his show with more perfection and entertainment.

Most of the films directed by AR Murugadoss has a specialty. He makes the hostility between the protagonist and the antagonist palpable to the audience even though the duo don’t come face to face until in the latter half. His new film SPYder is no exception.
One of the posters released by the Spyder team shows Mahesh and SJ Suryah, film’s lead antagonist, having a face to face encounter, possibly in a prison. This is the first scene when the duo meet each other in the film, and the scene comes in the second half. Until then, they communicate only through phone conversation.
As per sources, both Mahesh and Suryah competed with each other with their intense performances in this scene, which has come out very well. In the scene, while Mahesh tries his best to extract the motive behind the maniacal activities that Suryah’s carries out in the film, the latter irritates and infuriates Mahesh with his callous and witty argument. This scene may be touted as one of the highlights of the film after its release.
Netizens are already comparing this scene to the iconic scene in Hollywood blockbuster ‘The Dark Knight’, where Batman and Joker meet under under similar setup in a prison.
Haritha Haaram: How KCR’s Plant Died?
It is known that Chief Minister KCR-led Telangana govt. has undertaken the noble initiative of ‘Haritha Haaram’ programme in order to make the state flourish with greenery. As part of this programme, crores of saplings are being planted every year in the state. In July this year, KCR started the programme in Karimnagar district and he also planting a sapling.
Now, the issue of the KCR-planted Sapling getting dried and eventually dying has become a topic of discussion in social media. Locals are attributing this incident to the negligence of concerned authorities whereas the officials have a different story to tell.
As per reports, the watchman on duty has informed that the sapling died due to the ill activities performed by some unidentified miscreants. He divulged that a few youth, in inebriated condition, stopped at the plant a week ago, and did something which he couldn’t see properly. ‘They left after having an argument with me when I confronted them. The plant started dying from the immediate next morning,’ he said.
When the issue had recently gone viral on social media, authorities reportedly visited the plant and made unsuccessful efforts of saving it. People wonder what might be the situation of the other saplings if the authorities couldn’t protect even the sapling planted by the CM. They demand that authorities should start taking precautions at least now to safeguard other saplings.
