“I’m not a Spiderman or Superman, I’m doing nothing to the society,” says Agent Siva, who is actually saving the society from the clutches of an evil guy. That’s what Superstar Mahesh says in the trailer of “Spyder” which is released at midnight to feast fans and film lovers.

Playing the role of Agent Siva who works in Intelligence Bureau, Mahesh keeps on listening to the phone conversation where some people threaten others, some cry, and some scream help, as his software screen will blink.

And then an antagonist with a view that people have outnumbered goats and there is no wrong in killing them, goes on a spree of killing them by destroying bridges and flyovers. So, how these two are going to confront each other is the story.

Like any other typical Murugadoss film, this story also revolves around protagonist chasing the villain. But during interval bangs, villains actually say ‘I’m coming’ and heroes say ‘i’m waiting’, here the villain says ‘Come’. Mahesh as a spy and SJ Surya as the ruthless killer who declares some sort of war on humanity is excellent. Even the love-track between this spy and medico Rakul Preet is bubbly and lovable.

At the same time, most talked about aspect of the trailer is its visual effects. A large boulder (stone) rolling across the roads and that theme-park hanging cab scenes are giving goosebumps. One wonders what sort of social message and anti-social elements Murugadoss has picked for this film.

Santosh Sivan’s cinematography is top notch and Harris Jayaraj music is quite interesting. Seems like the makers have spent a lot to make this film look grand. Spyder is hitting cinemas on September 27th.

Although there is six days gap between the release dates of NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa and Mahesh Babu’s SPYder, their clash for Dasara holidays season has become the talk of the town. So, which film has upper hand here?

Since both films have two equally popular stars in lead role, craze is humongous for both of them. Content wise, both look promising in their respective genres. Coming to the most crucial Promotions, JLK seems to have a clear upper hand over Spyder.

Producer Kalyan Ram, who amassed table profits with JLK, isn’t stacking that money, and is deploying an aggressive promotional strategy for his film. He aims to make JLK a landmark film in the career of NTR and for his production house, NTR Arts, and hence is pumping in money for promotions. Their PR team has already prepared an intensive promotional campaign in Print, digital media and on Radio and TV. Looking at the promotions, the film is expected to shake the box office in the first week of its release irrespective of the talk.

SPYder on the other hand is lagging behind JLK, as of now. They are organizing a huge pre-release event on Sep 15, and release the much awaited trailer. Makers look to be concentrating more on the Tamil market, and are relying on Mahesh’s stardom to do the job in the Telugu states, which may backfire in the end.

As of now JLK has upper hand. But, if Spyder makers start promotions at least now, they can catch up with the NTR starrer as they have one week more time than JLK’s to promote their film.

We generally see films of big heroes minting money in the first weekend and then taking a nosedive on the first Monday. A similar phenomenon is happening with Bigg Boss Telugu reality show.

Last week’s TRP rating was almost 3 times the rating of Bigg Boss in the same period. While No.1 Yaari is coming up with fresh ideas and new celebs each week, Bigg Boss house seems to tested the patience of viewers with pretentious and boring contestants.

While the entire Tamil Nadu and political aficionados across the nation talk about superstar Rajinikanth’s entry in politics by floating his own party, the actor has so far made only vague statements in this regard. On the other hand, fellow superstar of TN, Kamal Haasan, who has been vocally proactive especially ever since the demise of former TN CM Jayalalithaa, has made the big confession of considering forming his own political party.

Kamal has in a recent interview disclosed that he was seriously thinking of floating his own party as no existing political party shares his ideology. He amusingly said that he was being speculated to join some ‘X’ party if he accidentally meets and gets photographed with any leader belonging to that party.

According to the grapevine, Vijay wants to debut in Kannada films as he could speak the language as well. After studying for ten years at Puttaparthi Boarding school in Anantapur district, we hear that he picked up Kannada language from his friends and others around. A report coming from Sandalwood indicated that Vijay Devarakonda wants to star in a remake movie of Bichhagadu in Kannada debut. For his first film, the proven hero reportedly chose this super hit subject which already showered crores in Telugu and Tamil. As there is no provision for Vijay Antony’s Bichagadu to be dubbed in Kannada, they wanted to remake it with Vijay Devarakonda now, says a distributor in the know.

Star producer Dil Raju is called as the man with the midas touch. He has been highly successful as a producer as well as a distributor in his career. Dil Raju had a fabulous year so far after he scored blokcbusters like Shatamanam Bhavathi, Nenu Local and Fidaa.

With number of films lined up in his production, Raju even bagged the rights of three big films that will hit the screens in coming months. The ace producer acquired the Nizam rights of NTR’s Jai Lava Kusa, Mahesh Babu’s Spyder and Pawan Kalyan’s untitled film in the direction of Trivikram.

Telangana government granted permissions for screening five shows across the state as per the request of the Telugu Film Chamber. Several other requests have been approved and there are Rumours that Raju came to know about the step of Telangana government even before after which he acquired all the biggies for massive prices. Raju is said to have paid hefty amounts for Spyder and Jai Lava Kusa already which involves high risk.

With five shows screened in Telangana, Dil Raju will sure make it big with his planning as the films can rake extra amounts and bring the ace producer to safe zone even before.
