Actor Arrested in Heroine’s Kidnap Case!
Leading Malayalam actor and producer Dileep was arrested on Monday evening in connection with the kidnap, sexual assault of an actress (from the same industry) earlier in February in a moving car near Kochi. The most-controversial case has been taking several turns in the past few days. First a supari gang led by Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni was arrested in the case. And the case had been subsequently closed.
But it was reopened in April after actor Dileep approached police handing over a letter written to him by Sunil Kumar demanding money. Alleging that Sunil is ‘blackmailing’ him, Dileep approached police after which the case has been reopened in conspiracy angle. After thorough probe, police took Dileep into custody on Monday morning. He was lodged at Aluva Police Club. He was arrested in the evening.
This come as a huge setback to the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) who had been supporting Dileep in the matter. Dileep too maintained that he was no way linked to the case and claimed innocence. However, cops found that culprit Sunil Kumar tried to contact Dileep’s close friend Nadarsha from the jail over the phone at least on three occasions.
After several twists and turns, cops have arrested Dileep on Monday evening. Dileep has had rift with the leading actress. The conspiracy to attack the actress, according to police, was hatched several years back and it was in the second attempt that the actress was attacked in the late night of February 19 in a moving car near Kochi. More details are yet to come.
NTR’s Stammering: Puri This Is Not New!
Apparently, an English daily’s revelation that Puri Jagan is upset with the way Jr NTR has stolen a character idea from the director is creating an unwanted ruckus among fans. It is said that Puri first narrated a villain character, who has the stammering issue, to Jr NTR sometime back and our star hero got the same one incorporated into this “Jai Lava Kusa” movie.
Forget about whether Puri narrated something to NTR or not, but in the first case, a villain role having a stammering issue is not a new thing to be seen on silver screen. In the most recent times, if you could remember “Julayi” movie, Sonu Sood who played the lead villain has this stammering issue for his role. And he executed Trivikram’s idea it quite brilliantly.
Generally, any villain role created by Indian film directors will either have Ravana or Duryodhana shades. And these roles will be stuffed with some ‘dialect’ (say Telangana accent or Muslim accent or Hyderabadi style) and then some ‘defect’ (say breathing problem, handicapped or some medical defect) added to it. Going by that aspect, we have to say that this ‘stammering’ thing is the not so-new and so-unique thing that Puri Jagan and team should worry about. Only the fact that a star hero like Jr NTR has taken up is the unique part here.
Moreover, a simple characterisation like stammering won’t help in making a story turn into a blockbuster at the box office, it’s the story of the film that matters. So, Puri and some NTR fans, need not worry on this!!
Finally, ‘Bcom-Physics’ MLA Got New Post
Jaleel Khan, the Vijayawada (West) TDP MLA who became infamous in the Telugu states with his ‘Physics in B.Com’ remark, has finally managed to get a key position in Chandrababu Naidu’s regime.
The State government has recently appointed Jaleel Khan as Chairman of the AP Wakf Board. He has already taken charge as the Board’s Chairman.
Jaleel Khan, who jumped from YSRCP into TDP with the hope of getting a Minister post, Minority Minister precisely as there was no Muslim MLA in TDP, may not be complaining about this relatively less powerful post. He may have been made a Minister in Chandrababu Naidu’s cabinet had he not made an alleged fool out of himself with the ‘Physics in B.Com’ comment.
Lokesh Likes Sridevi, KTR Likes Nani
Andhra Pradesh IT minister Nara Lokesh, who rarely talks about films, mostly starring his uncle Balakrishna Nandamuri, seems to be bowled over by veteran diva Sridevi’s latest release, ‘Mom’.
Lokesh took to Twitter to heap praises on Sridevi. He called ‘Mom’ an amazing film and lauded Sridevi’s performance as outstanding.
On the other hand, Telangana IT Minister KTR, who happens to be a movie buff, took to twitter last night to praise Natural star Nani after watching a couple of films starring him in lead role. He called Nani one of the best actors of this generation.
It is heartening to see the reigning politicians of the Telugu states taking time to watch movies, and appreciate the actors and filmmakers.
Heroine Signs Her Last Horror Film
Once you score a hit in one particular role, definitely there are chances to get stereotyped in it. That’s what Lavanya Tripathi says as she’s always getting Andala Rakshasi kinds girl-next-door roles, while she’s ready to pour huge glamour like her peers. Here comes another heroine of such scenario.
Malayalam beauty Shamna Kasim aka Poorna has scored her best with Ravi Babu’s Avunu and since then she did many such horror movies. Featuring in movies like Calling Bell, Raju Gari Gadhi, Avunu 2, Avantika and recently Rakshasi, it’s heard that the dusky siren got bored with these horror roles.
“I’m done doing these horror movies. Almost every other film I get offered happens to be a horror movie. I’ve signed only one more horror movie and that will be the last film of my career in this genre. I want to explore other characters and genres” she says while promoting Rakshasi movie.
Cut to her Tamil assignments, Poorna is excited to play a variety of roles. She is essaying the role of a hearing-impaired pregnant lady in Mysshkin’s Savarakathi, while for Kodi Veeran movie she’s going to tonsure her head to play the villain. She hopes to get similar roles in Tollywood too!!
If Pakistan requests, Our army can enter Kashmir: China
The Chinese troops, extending the Indian logic which permits Indian troops to enter disputed area of Doklam, will be able to step into the Indian side of Kashmir.
The Chinese experts are blaming India of entering the area disputed by Bhutan and China. In a response to China who is making efforts to construct a road in Doklam, which connects Sikkim, Bhutan and Tibet.
Long Xingchun, director of the Center for Indian Studies at China West Normal University, stated that if India was approached to defend Bhutan’s territory then it will be limited only to undisputed zones. He further stated that applying India’s logic, if Pakistan requests then a third country’s army can enter the disputed area of India and Pakistan.
As the West has huge business dealings with China, Beijing can make the Doklam controversy international as western countries will support China.

Interacting and mingling with ‘Media’ is something that even stars need. Media plays a key role in building ‘image’ of actors, and people generally rely on media reports to know about their favorite actors’ off-screen activities.
Among the senior heroes, Megastar Chiranjeevi has the special knack of being in good books of media. He used to use respect and caution whenever he interacts with media, and he used to meet them regularly. In the present generation heroes, only NTR has this trait, say media persons.
NTR has the ability and maturity of handling media people well. He refrains from going overboard and thus create controversies even when posed uncomfortable questions. He doesn’t skip queries either, giving no reason for media people to get annoyed with him. The latest interview of his where he was asked about Sr NTR’s biopic is the best example of how matured he has become in dealing with media.
In comparison, both Mahesh and Pawan stay very reserved during media interactions. Ram Charan and Prabhas barely meet media. If a star doesn’t interact with media, there will be nothing to write about him. Staying in news is very important in this age where success of films and personal image of actors depend on how well they are projected in media. Some stars on the other hand go overboard and make fools of themselves in media interactions.
All in all, NTR’s contemporaries has a lot to learn from him when it comes to dealing with media.
Nani Seeks Apology from Audience
Natural star Nani’s latest release ‘Ninnu Kori’ is reportedly progressing towards becoming another success for the actor. Besides conveying his heartfelt gratitude, Nani has also sought apology from audiences. Why is that so?
In a recent interview, Nani has divulged that Ninnu Kori’s director, Shiva Nirvana had narrated this subject to him some three years ago. Feeling that Telugu audiences may not accept the concept of ‘heroine marrying a guy other than hero’, Nani was skeptical of doing the film then. He finally decided to do it as he got connected with the emotional quotient.
Even while doing the film, Nani was worried about how this classy film will be received in B,C centres. He thought that the film may work in only A centres. ‘Audience of B,C centres proved me wrong with their universal reception of Ninnu Kori. I seek an apology for doubting them,’ said Nani in an interview.
Going by early trade reports, ‘Ninnu Kori’ has raked in good collections over the first weekend. We will post the break up of share very soon.
