Nani’s “Ninnu Kori”, that received unanimous positive reports from day one, has entered into profit zone by end of the first week of the film’s release.

The movie was sold to distributors for normal rates as its genre has limited appeal. Surprisingly, it took bumper openings in all areas and the team’s marketing trick has paid well.

“Ninnu Kori” has collected a share of Rs 18 Cr worldwide so far. It will also be touching the one-million dollars mark this Friday in the US market.

Although the movie saw huge drop in collections in Telugu states after Wednesday, it has already put the buyers in profits. So whatever money that comes from now will add to their kitty.

It is not a huge blockbuster as believed earlier, but it is definitely a good hit that brought smiles on the lips of all the parties involved.

Except “Majnu”, which was a dud, all Nani’s  recent movies were either hits or blockbusters.

“Ninnu Kori” also gave a new life to writer Kona Venkat’s career.

Whatever the claims by the makers, the trade has now confirmed that Allu Arjun’s Duvvada Jagannadham is a flop.

The movie would have been a huge flop if not for the staggering openings. Still, it has ended up incurring huge losses to all distributors except for the Nizam distributor.

Ceded distributors are losing 30 per cent on their investment and the figure is said to be around Rs 2 Cr.

All districts in coastal Andhra have reported loss of 20 to 30 per cent losses. No distributor in any area in Coastal Andhra even came to break-even stage.

The Nizam area was distributed by producer Dil Raju himself. Since there is no question of buying the movie in Nizam area, loss or gain doesn’t arise here.

The biggest loser is USA distributor as the movie ended up collecting just $1.1 million. The movie was bought for Rs 9 Cr for overseas and the losses are around 50 percent.

All in all, “Duvvada Jagannadham” has put a break to Allu Arjun’s success streak and became a flop.

Rakul Preet Singh is reportedly moving mountains to adjust her call sheets so that she can be part of Pawan Kalyan’s new film.

Considering that the shoot of Pawan’s films rarely happen according to planned schedules, it will not be easy for a busy bee like Rakul to adjust dates accordingly. Being a very hard working actress and having the urge to be called a ‘Pawan’s heroine’, Rakul however is game for the challenge.

A popular yesteryear heroine turned Host of TV shows has recently created nuisance in a TV Show under the influence of alcohol. The show hosted by this actress intends to discuss and resolve the family disputes of participants, and it is aired on a prominent channel.

She reportedly attended the show in a fully drunken state, and thus shocked both the organizers of the show and the participants with her behavior. In fact, a woman approached the State Human Rights Commission (HRC) alleging that she was insulted by the senior actress’ demeaning questions in the show. Responding to the complaint, the HRC sought an explanation from the organizers of the show.

A police case has also been filed against this actress for using derogatory language and insulting the judiciary system on the show.

The Special Task Force of the Prohibition & Excise department for substance abuse has sent notices to a slew of Telugu film personalities in the most-talked about drugs case. Following the information from drug peddlers, the Special Investigation Team sleuths have decided to interrogate the Telugu film celebrities. Many Tollywood personalities, including two actresses, were issued notices and asked to present before SIT within six days for questioning.

A top director who is well-known for wrapping his films quickly, a top actor who earned craze with mass films, an yesteryear heroine (from Punjab), an actress who is popular for her hot item numbers, a young hero (husband of popular singer), a well-known producer who is very famous for his public speeches, praising dialogues, a young male singer, a stunt-master, and others were said to be among the recipient of notices.

Although media has got the complete information of the celebs who received notices, cops said to have told media to not to name them publicly. Due to this, media chose to give hints about the celebs allegedly involved in drugs case.

However, too many hints about the identity of celebrities involved in drugs are being disclosed by media. This is now causing a major embarrassment to the concerned celebs.

It went viral in no time that dusky siren Sonam Kapoor is tying the knot the soon. Apparently, some popular portals and newspapers have come up with the story of impending marriage in Kapoor household while Anil Kapoor is busy with Mubarakan promotions and Sonam is on a vacation.

According to grapevine published in those columns, Sonam Kapoor who was earlier caught celebrating her birthday with Delhi-based businessman Anand Ahuja is getting ready to marry him. Producer Sai Korrapati has had a difficult situation during recent media interaction when one of the scribes asked him a tough question over his about-to-release “Patel Sir”.

When asked about how he would respond to the comments in the industry circles that “Patel Sir” would had been bigger had he cast Balakrishna as the protagonist, Sai thinks for a moment and answers, “What can I say to it? Even now, the film would be in a big range. You (media) would agree with me once you watch the film tomorrow. Jagapathi Babu has shown his versatility. Even this film would become big.”

Sai has smartly managed the situation. But given the fact that he has very good rapport with Balakrishna (for whom he co-produced blockbuster Legend), many still believe that Balayya would had been made big difference to film in terms of trade, pre-release business and openings.

But now that Sai has Jagapathi Babu on board and the film is all set  for release tomorrow, it needs to be seen how the film would open in cinemas. Even Jagapathi Babu is not a bad option. Let’s wait and see whether Sai has got it right again or not. For now, the curiosity continues.
