New Coach of Team India Officially Announced
Just less than a month after Anil Kumble stepped down as the Indian cricket team coach, former Team Director Ravi Shastri has been officially appointed the new head coach.
BCCI’s Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), comprising former players Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman, interviewed five candidates – former Indian cricketers: Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag and Lalchand Rajput, Australian cricketer Tom Moody and Englishman Richard Pybus before finalizing Shastri to fill the vacant position of Team India’s head coach.
The decision has been taken only after consulting with skipper Virat Kohli, who allegedly caused former coach Kumble to step down.
Shastri has reportedly signed a two year contract, and thus he will remain the coach when India plays the 2019 ICC World Cup.
The appointment of Shastri as Team India’s coach has not gone well with most of the Indian cricket fans who argue that he will just act as a ‘Yes Man’ to skipper Kohli.

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has reportedly agreed to compensate to the distributors who had lost exorbitant sums on his latest release ‘Tubelight’.
Rs 100 crore collections at box office may be a benchmark for ninety percent of films made in Bollywood but for a Salman Khan starrer, the benchmark goes up to Rs 270-300 crore. Buyers of Salman’s ‘Tubelight’ were in utter shock after the film almost ended its theatrical run by raking in a mere Rs 115 crore approx. Applying the statistics, that’s a huge loss.
Empathized with the agony of his film’s buyers, Salman has reportedly offered Rs 55 crore compensation to them. Distributors are extremely happy with the actor’s kind gesture. This is the first flop for Salman in years.
The box office behemoth will be next seen in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’, a sequel to his blockbuster film ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. Fans love Salman in action mode and this film is expected to satiate their hunger. Also starring Katrina Kaif, Tiger Zinda Hai will hit screens for Christmas this year.
Telugu NRI Couple Killed in Ohio Plane Crash
A Telugu NRI couple, Umamaheshwara Rao Kalapathapu (63) and Seethageetha Kalapathapu (61), were killed in a plane crash in Ohio on Saturday. Both of them were doctors.
According to police reports, the small plane they were traveling in from Cass County, Logansport, in Indiana, to an airport in Parkesbury, in West Virginia, crashed into an abandoned retention pond at Beverly, in Ohio state, in North America.
Aviation authorities recovered the wreckage of the crashed plane from the pond several hours after it went off the radar, on Saturday evening.
The plane reportedly crashed due to a technical snag. The Telugu couple were the only two people on the Piper Archer PA-28.

Some unidentified people in Pune, Maharashtra have destroyed the stores of Chinese mobile brands- Vivo and Oppo, in order to express their solidarity to Indian army.
It is known that Indian army is at loggerheads with Chinese army at the Border. The situation is so sensitive that huge troops have been deployed by both the countries on round the clock security.
India is a major market for Chinese products. Not just mobile phones, all sorts of electronics, apparels.. there is an irremovable presence of Chinese products in every business sector in India. Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo have zoomed into Indian market in the last few years with utterly low-priced phones and have become major players. Vivo has even become the sponsor of IPL.
Netizens argue that by tearing down the posters and destroying a few stores, the agitators are not damaging those Chinese companies but the properties and investment of fellow Indians. They call this a foolish act, pointing out that even i-phone gets assembled in China.

‘I am born and raised in Chennai. I can proudly say that I am a son of the Tamil soil,’ said Nandamuri Balakrishna.
Speaking at the audio launch event of the Tamil dubbed version of Gautamiputra Satakarni in Chennai last night, Balayya floored the attendees and Tamil media with a touching speech delivered in fluent Tamil. Describing himself as a proud Tamilian by birth, Balayya said that the legendary Tamil actors – MGR and Sivaji Ganeshan were like his fathers.
Talking about Gautamiputra Satakarni, Balayya said it is not just a Telugu film, but a film belonging to the entire country. He expressed his happiness over finally releasing the film in Tamil Nadu. “This movie will be dubbed into several other Indian languages very soon,” Balayya announced during his speech.

Meet Indira Gandhi’s ‘Secret Grandaugter’
A woman triggered a political controversy at the Centre on Monday by claiming to be the alleged biological daughter of late Congress leader Sanjay Gandhi and the ‘secret granddaughter’ of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
The woman, Priya Singh Paul (48), while addressing media, claimed that she was adopted at the age of 6, in 1974, and that the reason termed for her adoption was that as her biological father was a noted figure in politics, the child’s existence had to be kept secret for a few years.
Ms Paul said that she was informed by Vimla Gujral, sister of former Prime Minister I.K. Gujral, in 2010 that Sanjay Gandhi was her biological father. She further said that she started searching for her roots following the death of her adoptive mother. She claims to have filed a petition in court earlier this year to establish her lineage and access papers of her adoption.
Neither the Congress party nor the Gandhi family has yet responded to Ms Paul’s claims. Sanjay Gandhi was the younger son of Indira Gandhi, and he was legally married to Union minister Maneka Gandhi.
