Telangana police intensified investigation into drug smuggling that came to light after the arrest of two college going students in Hyderabad and arrested a noted Telugu film producer in connection with the case.

State Excise and Prohibition enforcement officials have taken the film producer into their custody from his residence in Banjara Hills and grilling him since Thursday morning. The producer had reportedly bought banned drugs from the peddlers. It is learnt that the producer also used to go Goa frequently and consumed drugs during his stay.

Police said they recovered 14 LSD drug packets from the producer and questioning him about the source of supply of drugs to him. The producer will be arrested after completing interrogation.

Are we going to see a ‘Fish’ playing the central character for the first ever time in a mainstream Telugu film?

A leading national daily has reported that Natural Star Nani, who acted in ace director Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’, a film having a housefly as the central character, is making a film with ‘fish’ in lead role. The report further added that this film will be Nani’s maiden production venture, and shooting has already commenced, without anyone noticing.

Prashant Sharma is making his directorial debut with this movie. Reportedly, when he approached Nani, the ‘Eega’ actor got so impressed with the script having a fish as the central character that he decided to produce the film himself. The shooting has already begun in a specially designed set in Hyderabad.

There is no clarity if Nani will act in the film or not, but this first-of-its-kind project will surely encourage Telugu filmmakers to invest in many more experimental films. After Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’, director Ravi Babu has made a film, ‘Adhigo’ with a piglet in lead role. This film is yet to be released.

The film also starring Nivetha Thomas and Aadhi Pinisetty, has received appreciation from the preview shows screened for celebrities. Massive number of premiere shows have been planned in the US taking into account the craze for Nani starrers there.

With DJ becoming two-week old and having no other notable film in theatres, trade analysts expect Ninnu Kori to take a solid opening. The film’s box office prospects will depend on the content from then onwards.

NTR’s villain character called Jai in Jai Lava Kusa has been modeled after the character of Ravanasura and the actor makes it look extremely powerful with his superb portrayal.

“Sir, I need a break. Feeling tired. Want to have something from Subway“, she said, requesting the director for a break.

Not caring for her words, the director replied, “Yes, we’ll all take a break. I’ve given the last dress change for you, get dressed fast, we’ll take a shot and then eat lunch“.

Further disappointed by the director’s hard like rock attitude, she remarked, “Are we making some Titanic here? Can’t we do it post lunch?”

Cutting her midway, the director commented, “You’ve charged from the producer know, no one is doing this for free!!!”

Then came an unexpected and most shocking ever reply from the hot girl. “This remuneration is equal to just one night’s payment I receive. I’m not building villas with this payment” she replied back. “Pchh” she gasped, with a tongue in the cheek.

But then she realised, she has revealed something the unit never thinks about her that way. Immediately the director shouted, “B R E A K“.

But what is that night’s payment that is getting her more money than films? That’s the doubt lingering in the minds of all the people present on the set. Sometimes, the reality is tough to accept and people working on this upcoming film are still in that shock only, a source revealed.

The shooting of Akkineni Akhil’s film in the direction of Vikram Kumar has commenced long back but the heroine is yet to be finalized. After considering several actresses, mostly fresh faces, Vikram Kumar has reportedly approached Kalyani, the daughter of veteran director Priyadarshan.

Kalyani, the daughter of Priyadarshan and senior Malayalam actress Lizzy, made her debut into film industry as an assistant director for star Tamil hero Vikram’s ‘Inkokkadu’ (Iru Mugan in Tamil). Since Vikram Kumar was primarily looking for a fresh face, he stumbled upon her photographs, and reportedly approached her. The young lady is yet to give her nod.

Vikram is looking at some other options too. He wants a fresh face who can perform well, hence he is taking his time in finalizing the female lead of Akhil. If Kalyani comes on board, it will be a peculiar case of an Assistant Director turning the leading lady of a biggie.
