At the inauguration of the US president Donald Trump, he clearly told the world that his country will follow only one thumb rule and it is – “we will buy American and hire American.” So, Is it being followed by everyone? The answer is ‘NO’ and the rule seem to apply for president’s daughter.

The unbelievable fact that Ivanka Trump, daughter of Donald Trump, was importing 50 tones of Chinese clothing for her clothing brand manifests that not even his daughter obeys the thumb rule.

Going by Customs bills, Trump’s daughter company has registered imports of 53.5 tonnes of Chinese goods after inauguration speech.

An investigation by AFP revealed some interesting facts that more than two tonnes in ladies polyster woven blouses, 1600 cowhide leather wallets and 23 tonnes in footwear entered US between 8 November and 26 February.

President Trump is the person who earlier accused China of stealing US jobs and denounced domestic and foreign manufacturers for using overseas labor but today his own daughter is under the radar for buying thousands of products from the same country.

Pawan Kalyan today said that he would contest both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in 2019 general assembly polls.

The sudden death of Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy has caused a void in his family, which had been dominating Kurnool politics, particularly in Nandyal and Allagadda constituencies, for several decades.

Except one, all the siblings of Nagi Reddy died, while his father-in-law S V Subba Reddy has become old and inactive.

His brother-in-law S V Mohan Reddy, presently TDP MLA (Jump Jilani From YSRC), is not so powerful.

Bhuma’s elder daughter Akhila Priya came into politics in place of her mother Shobha Nagi Reddy who died in a road accident before 2014 elections.

His son Jagat Vikhyath Reddy is still an Intermediate student; and so, it is too early for him to come into politics. The only one left is his younger daughter Mounika, who is said to be more active than Akhila.

Mounika, who has completed her degree in journalism, is said to be contemplating launching a television news channel.

Now that her father is dead, the TDP leadership is said to be contemplating roping her into politics. If she contests the elections, she can win the seat with sympathy vote. Hence, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to convince Mounika, say sources.

Jana Sena Party (JSP) founder Pawan Kalyan has shocked many by his announcement on Tuesday that that he would be contesting from Anantapur assembly constituency in the next general elections to be held in 2019. Considering that the region is hotbed of TDP and Opposition YSRCP too had good hold in Rayalaseema region, several political analysts are founding fault with Pawan’s choice as Anantapur.

Earlier, Pawan had announced that he would register as voter from Eluru and he had also stated that he would choose a house in Eluru for his stay. Many had thought that Pawan would be contesting from Eluru since that would be cakewalk for his victory.

It can be noted that Eluru has large population of Pawan’s community and the actor is expected to be received well. However, in sheer contrast to it, Anantapur has relatively less population of Pawan’s community. Now Pawan’s latest statement has invited great debate in Anantapur district.

Pawan had recently held a meeting in Anantapur November last year. He had called that Jana Sena Party’s first office outside Hyderabad would be in Anantapur. It has to be seen whether Pawan would stand by his word or not.

Getting into the news, the White House spokesperson Sean Spicer yesterday said, “the American President decided to donate his annual presidential salary of USD 400,000 to charity by the year’s end.” He also remembered that Trump had previously made this pledge to the people of America.

So, the billionaire businessman-turned-politician will now take home only one dollar per year, which is the legal minimum. Spokesperson Spicer also told, ‘let the press and media determine where the donations go so that it can avoid further scrutiny, which had happened earlier in Trump’s business.’

Throughout his presidential campaign last year, Trump continuously stated that he will just take a single penny as part of salary. Out of all American Presidents in the past, Herbert Hoover and John. F. Kennedy are two other presidents who donated their salaries to charity.

As Andhra Pradesh legislative assembly on Tuesday paid tributes to late Bhuma Nagi Reddy, who passed away after suffering a severe cardiac arrest on Sunday morning, the opposition party in state left the session midway.

Hailing the services of departed leader, Telugu Desham party has passed a motion of condolence and members of ruling party paid rich tributes to Bhuma Nagi Reddy. But, YSR Congress leaders have staged a walk out by citing a reason that ‘TDP is totally responsible for Bhuma’s death.’

After walking out of Assembly hall, Jagan spoke with media and said, ‘Telugu Desham Party is unnecessarily making politics over condolence motion of Bhuma Nagi Reddy.’ He also blamed Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu by alleging ‘Babu offered a cabinet position to Bhuma to attract him and he has been betraying Bhuma since last one year.’

Speaking about why his party had to walk out of Assembly, Jagan said, ‘Had we been in house, we would have also remembered the wrongdoings of Bhuma in last days, besides all good work over several years.’

And the opposition leader of state also delivered a surprise by making it clear that his party will contest the vacant Nandyal assembly in by polls to teach a lesson to TDP.

The budget session was adjourned for the day, after paying homage to the deceased Rayalaseema leader. And tomorrow, Finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu will present the state budget for 2017-18.

Three years ago, Pawan Kalyan has announced his new political outfit Jana Sena. Addressing a large gathering in a meeting held in Hyderabad on Mar 14, Pawan set stage for his political foray. Pawan had spoken at length over his background, political plans and a little bit ideology. Pawan teared into Congress and used one-liners such as “Congress Hatao, Desh Bachao”. He didn’t even leave TRS, KCR and Kavitha.

Pawan had taken a clear stand in favour of TDP-BJP combine and campaigned for the parties. The rest is history. Both TDP and BJP stormed into power in State, Centre. While the both parties went back on their promises, Pawan who claimed to question them did spoke once in a while besides juggling with films.

On the formation day today, Pawan is expected to speak to media on party functioning and his future plans. Pawan had already announced that Jana Sena would contest polls in the upcoming general elections (2019). Pawan also announced that the first Jana Sena party Office outside Telangana will be in Anantapur.

During his recent visit to US, Pawan met several NRIs and expected to strengthen the party in abroad as well.

One-Man Army

However, Jana Sena’s key failure is that it couldn’t established its leadership. Let alone the second-rung, ground-level leadership, the party doesn’t even have first-rung leadership.

Except Pawan Kalyan there’s no one in the party so far. Although it has a media head P. Hari Prasad, his job is confined to the press-releases and back-end work. It has to be seen who all will be the face of the party other than Pawan.

It can also be noted that even Jayaprakash Narayan’s Lok Satta party too suffered from same problem and the party suffered a death knell due to failure of lack of leadership other than JP himself. One has to wait and watch how Pawan Kalyan is going to tackle this problem.

A day after the final rites of Nandyala MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has been gathered on Tuesday to pay homage to departed member of the house 53-yr-old Bhuma. While the whole house was present to pay tribute to Bhuma as a mark of respect to his services, Opposition leader YS Jagan has skipped and his absence was conspicuous in the house.

In her first ever speech in Assembly after the demise of her father Bhuma Nagi Reddy, Allagadda MLA Bhuma Akhila Priya made an emotional speech in the house where she recalled her loving parents. 28-yr-old Akhila Priya, who was misty-eyed and teary voice, had spoken with a soft voice.

Despite struck with such a great tragedy where her mom and former legislator was died in a road accident three years ago and now her father died of a cardiac arrest, Akhila Priya managed to put a brave face and delivered the best speech. Although she chocked at times, she recovered herself to the fact that her parents are no more. Akhila’s confidence and emotional speech moved many in the house as a few TDP MLAs were spotted with teary-eyes.

About Parents Nagi Reddy and Shoba Nagi Reddy

I’ve been eagerly waiting to speak about public issues in the newly constructed Assembly. But little did I expect that I come here to talk about my father like this (paying homage). Since his childhood, my dad had been facing several problems. He had lost his father at very early age and subsequently he had lost all his brothers one after the other. He had lost three brothers in four years. When a few relatives had demanded my father to distribute assets, he had told them to take all assets but asked them to leave his brother’s children to him so that he’d raise.

Like he promised, he raised all the children of his brothers on par with us and got them married. Even today, if anyone gets a problem, all gather in our house. Such was his affection and love. When I had first stepped into house after Shoba Nagi Reddy’s (mother’s) demise, I hadn’t feared as he was with me then. He had held my hand and introduced me to each and everyone in the house probably he had knew that this day would come.

He couldn’t take my mom’s death. In the last three years, he had been remembering my mom all through. They both were so loving. They couldn’t leave each one. I wonder he lived these three years (after my mom’s death) only for us (children).

I’m Not Orphan, People Are With Us

A reporter had come to me and asked that I became orphan after losing both mom and dad. I’m not orphan. I’ve people in our constituency who came for dad’s funeral and party workers who were there all throughout. Lokesh garu was in Nadyala whole day. CM garu came and gave me confidence that he’s there for us.

I’d like to convey through Speaker that all the wishes, promises made by Parents to people in the constituency would be fulfilled by me.

YS Jagan Boycotts

I remember how much mom (Shoba Nagi Reddy) had worked for YSR Congress Party. When Jagan Mohan Reddy garu was in jail, my mom was fully taking care of party and she hardly got time to spend with us. Many times, she used to come back home later and cried for missing us. Dad too worked so hard for Jagan garu and his party.

Today Jagan garu skipping house so that he had to speak about my father is so difficult for me to take. I leave it to him and his party.
