Megastar Chiranjeevi’s comeback film, Khaidi No.150, and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th movie, Gautamiputra Satakarni, are reiterating the box-office potential of perfect Sankranthi entertainers. Both the films’ collections are showcasing Chiru and Balayya’s unbeatable craze at box-office.

After toppling Baahubali’s day one record in the two Telugu states, Khaidi No.150’s box-office storm is unstoppable this weekend. On the other hand, Balayya’s Gautamiputra Satakarni posted career best opening collections for Balayya and is ruling the roost at the box-offices worldwide.

With three festive days of Sankranthi, Kanuma and Mukkanuma to begin today, Khaidi No.150 and Gautamiputra Satakarni are all set to pocket huge shares, bringing smiles to buyers and fans.

Until the movies’ release, fans and trade circles were highly apprehensive about the box-office collections due to the epic clash. However, the old horses’ destruction at box-office is leaving even the trade pundits in dismay. Trade analysts are expecting this grand show by the veteran stars to continue until the second week.

Actor Sharwanand is quite confident and upbeat about his about-to-release Satamanam Bhavati. Despite taking on biggies like Balayya’s Gautamiputra Satakarni (that’s touted as Telugu pride) and Chiru’s Khaidi No. 150 (considered as good comeback), Sharwa feels his target audience is families who want a lighthearted films.

“The emotions and feel-good factor make the movie interesting than the story. This reminds us the affections, bonding that we used to share with our family in early days,” says Sharwanand.

Sharwa adds that the whole film revolves around Sankranti and gives us a peek into what the festival is all about and how it is celebrated. Sharwa shares that many of the scenes in the film have reminded him of his childhood days and how he had celebrated the festival then.

Sharwa is paired up with Anupama Parameswaran in this family drama laced with romance. As last year too Sharwa made his mark in Sankranti season, let’s wait and see whether he would recreate it again this time or not.

The Quantico Star, Priyanka Chopra has reportedly suffered an injury to the brain which resulting in loss of her consciousness.

While filming for her ABC series Quantico, PeeCee happened to be a part of the set where there was a minor accident. “She was immediately taken to the hospital, examined by a doctor and released”, said her reporter.

He also added, “She is resting comfortably at home on doctors orders, and will return to work after the weekend.”

This unfortunate incident took place while she performing an action stunt on the sets of Quantico. The action sequences involved fighting numerous people together. She was notably absent from a press event the next day.

Actress Trisha was in trouble when a group of Jallikattu supporters had heckled her on Friday in Chennai.

Bull-taming sport supporters have disrupted Trisha’s work while she was shooting for her film ‘Garjana’ in Sivagangai, some 460 km south of Chennai. The film’s shoot was stalled due to the protesters.

Protesters rounded Trisha’s vanity van demanding that she should come out of her van where she had taken refuge. Angry protesters didn’t let up and it happened only after police came to Trisha’s rescue and escorted her to safety.

Apparently, Jallikattu supporters have been fuming over Trisha who is endorsing PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals).

The slogan-shouting protesters stated that they will not allow Trisha to shoot in Tamil Nadu if she did not apologize and withdraw her support to the animal rights organization.

Interestingly, several Jallikattu supporters in Tamil Nadu are demanding a ban on PETA.

The film needs to perform strongly in the next three days to reach the target of 2.5 million dollars. The distributors would only get break-even if the film goes past this mark. As of now it is clear that it would enter into two million dollars club by end of the first weekend.

There is also controversy that the huge collection that the movie grossed with Premiere shows is due to the t-mobile promotion. The company gave tickets for mere $2 as part of its company’s promotion and American Telugus grabbed this opportunity to buy the tickets of “Khaidi No 150” on that day.

The film has now crossed 1.5 million dollars on Thursday. Total cumulative figure is $1,508,824. This is biggest total for any Telugu movie for the first three non-weekend days.

After delaying for long and conducting several screen tests, finally Anupama Parameswaran has been finalised for Ram Charan-Sukumar film. The likes of Rashi Khanna, Samantha, Sai Pallavi, Keerthy Suresh and Amala Paul were considered.

But it’s Anupama who walked away with the role at last. Although they engaged in talks with Samantha, they couldn’t rope in her on board. Sam, who is losing a lot of films, lost yet another big film for the reasons best guarded.

Yet to be titled, the film is going to have Ratnavelu as cinematogrpaher and Devi Sri Prasad has already started working on the music. Now that the heroine is confirmed, the pre-production work would soon come to end.

Hyderabad: Tollywood actress Rambha was on Thursday summoned by the Banjara Hills police in a dowry harassment case registered in 2014, when she had come to the city from Canada for a film shoot.

Based on the petition moved by Rambha’s sister-in-law Pallavi in July 2014, a local court directed Banjara Hills police to register a dowry harassment case against five persons including Rambha, her brother Srinivasa Rao and their parents Venkateshwar Rao and Usha Rani under section 498-A (subjecting a married woman to cruelty) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 3 & 5 of the Dowry Prohibition Act.

After registering the case, police filed a chargesheet against the five accused, including Rambha and the court issued summons to her for appearance.

As Rambha was residing at Canada with her family, police failed to serve her with the summons a few times earlier.

On January 10 this year, police came to know that Rambha was in the city to attend a film shoot. So they served her with the summons at Padmalaya studios to appear before the court.

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film Gautami Putra Satakarni has been riding on high expectations from day-1 of shooting. Director Krish and story added more hype to the film, which was finished in just 79 days.

Yes! While many filmmakers are finding it hard to finish off production in short time, director Krish wrapped GPSK in just 79 days, all thanks to his outstanding pre-production work. Having known about the scale of this film, even Baahubali director Rajamouli has expressed shock, wonder and appreciated the remarkable planning of Radhakrishna Jagarlamudi.

But when asked if he is producing Chiru’s next movie, “After seeing Khaidi’s openings, even I was afraid to do immediate film with Chiru,” said Aravind who hinted that as one has to be more responsible after a hit film.
