During the intense separate Telangana movement until 2014, people from all the nooks and corners of Telangana united on a single track and fought an inspiring battle for a single dream, separate statehood.Finally, after years long relentless struggle and sacrifices, the separate Telangana state was formed, realizing decades long dream of millions of Telangana people.

Celebrations and brotherhood prevailed throughout 2014 among the people of Telangana. But the ongoing violence in a few places in Telangana is questioning the very unity among the Telangana people.In a protest that turned violent today, two RTC buses were completely damaged, while another bus was set on fire in Jangaon in Warangal. Over the past few weeks, there has been an intense demand to split Jangaon from Warangal and make it a separate district.

While demanding a separate district for better administration is understandable and with the government itself is planning to form 25 districts out of existing 10 district’s, the violence the people of Jangaon resorted to shows the lack of unity and brotherhood, the two prominent values with which they fought for separate Telangana.The protestors attacked the local MLA’s residence, pelted stones at police and passers-by and injured many and held a rastha roko on the Hyderabad-Warangal highway. The police arrested several protestors while there is no assurance by the leaders on their demand.

The hype and hungama created by a section of media supporting the Chandrababu Naidu government over the inauguration of interim secretariat complex at Velagapudi in Amaravati has turned out be a big hoax within 24 hours.

The Secretariat employees who came in large numbers in specially arranged buses on June 29 quietly returned to Hyderabad in the same evening after giving poses to the media at the ground floor of the Secretariat which was given some temporary make-up for the day.

The entire complex turned into a cess pool with heavy rains with slushy pathway and heaps of garbage. Ministers Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and K Mrinalini went there for a day and stopped from the very next day.The works are still going on and there is no way the administration can work from the spot. Yet, the government is trying to give a build-up that it has shifted the entire administration from Amaravati! What an irony?

The reports appearing in a section of media (we shall leave it to your guess what they are) that YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had a three-hour meeting with astrologers and pundits to get the correct prediction of his future, as nothing is going right for him of late.According to these reports, the astrologers had advised Jagan to perform certain special poojas to ward off evil forces so that he would have a bright political future.

The latest attachment of his assets worth Rs 749 crore by Enforcement Directorate, particularly his Lotus Pond residence and the Bangalore palace, besides fixed deposits worth over Rs 100 crore, shocked his morale. This has virtually tied up his hands, as he cannot do any transactions on these properties; and he cannot withdraw any money from the banks. This has deprived him of liquid cash.

Now, the question is whether Jagan would be able to come out of this crisis by performing poojas and yagams? First of all, he is a Christian and it is surprising as to how he believed in these poojas. Secondly, the pundits had told him that he would have a bright future since the beginning of 2016, but that has not happened; on the other hand, he had lost several MLAs to the TDP and he is getting more troubles from courts. It remains to be seen how far these beliefs would come to Jagan’s rescue.

TDP MP from Amalapuram P Ravindra Babu has lashed out at Telangana Chief Minister KCR over the latter’s recent remarks against people of Andhra Pradesh. Finding fault with KCR, Ravi alleged that the Telangana CM is ‘still spitting venom on people of AP’. “KCR is behaving as if Telangana is separate country which is not. A man in his position (as CM) shouldn’t have made such comments.

Meanwhile, KCR has extended his full support to the ongoing stir by lawyers and judges in Telangana against provisional allocation of judicial officers hailing from Andhra Pradesh. KCR has even threatened to do a dharna in New Delhi a la Arvind Kejriwal.

In a letter to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, KCR wrote that the tentative allocation of many subordinate judicial officers from AP to Telangana has kicked off controversy among the judicial officers and advocate community in Telangana and asked the Centre to look into the issue. KCR has urged the Centre to speed up the process of division of High Court. Telangana Advocates JAC had claimed that out of the 21 judges at the Hyderabad High Court, 18 are natives of Andhra Pradesh and only three are from Telangana.
