Obama puts emphasis on US, Japan ties; will not apologise for Hiroshima during visit
While maintaining that emphasis has to be placed on the current relationship between the United States and Japan who “came together to become one of the closest partnerships and closest allies in the world,” U.S. President Barack Obama has said that he would not offer an apology for the nuclear attack by the U.S. on Japan 71 years ago.Obama is set to become the first sitting American president to visit Japan’s Hiroshima, the first city in the history of the world to have faced a nuclear attack. Obama will visit Hiroshima this Friday, accompanied by Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
In an interview with Japan’s national broadcaster NHK ahead of his visit, Obama said that leaders in times of war have to make hard choices, justifying his decision to not apologise for the nuclear attack. His visit would show that the former enemies are now on friendlier terms, Obama was quoted as saying by Reuters on Sunday.”It’s important to recognise that in the midst of war, leaders make all kinds of decisions, it’s a job of historians to ask questions and examine them,” Obama was quoted as saying by Reuters.
“But I know, as somebody who’s now sat in this position for the last seven and half years, that every leader makes very difficult decisions, particularly during wartime.”This is not the first visit by a high level U.S. official to Hiroshima in 2016. U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry had visited Hiroshima with foreign ministers of G7 nations in April 2016. He was the first U.S. secretary of state to visit the city.
“It reminds everybody of the extraordinary complexity of choices in war and of what war does to people, to communities, to countries, to the world,” Kerry was quoted as saying by BBC. He also talked about the need to end nuclear arms.Obama, who is a proponent of nuclear non-proliferation, was quoted as saying by Reuters that the visit would be a way of reflecting on the consequences of war.
Samsung Galaxy C5 release date, features: Launch imminent as it clears FCC
Samsung appears set for the release of its two mid-range devices, the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, from the new C series. The Galaxy C5 has been cleared by a couple of telecommunication authorities and seen on Bluetooth SIG for certification, giving a clear hint that its launch is not far off.The South Korean technology giant is expected to unveil the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7 in China on May 26. Reports have claimed that the devices will be released exclusively for Chinese market, but a device with model number SM-C5000, believed to be the Galaxy C5, has been spotted on Zauba website that tracks imports and exports in India, hinting that it could be launched outside China.
The Galaxy C5 (SM-C5000) has now being cleared by Federal Communications Commission (FCC), according to TimesNews. This has paved the way for the release of the device. It was earlier cleared by China’s Telecommunication Equipment Certification Center, TENAA, and was spotted on Bluetooth SIG for certification.
According to Chinese website MyDrivers (via SamMobile), the Galaxy C5 will come with features like a 5.2-inch screen with FullHD 1,920x1080p display resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 64-bit octa-core processor, an Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a 4GB RAM, a 32/64GB internal storage, a 16MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, an 8MP front-snapper, an Ultra High Quality Audio (UHQA), and a 2,600mAh battery. It added that the device will come with a price tag of 1,599 Yuan (around $246).
KCR’s 5,000 Acres gift to his friend?
Telangana TDP’s firebrand leader Revanth Reddy made several striking allegations on his staunch rival and the state’s CM KCR. Speaking at the Mini Mahanadu which took place in Mahabubnagar yesterday, Revanth reportedly alleged that KCR has an ulterior motive behind merging Shadnagar into Greater Hyderabad.
Lashing out at KCR further, Revanth reportedly alleged that KCR’s plans to merge Shadnagar into Hyderabad has nothing to do with locals’ welfare and that the move was only to benefit KCR’s close acquaintance and the Chairman of My Home Group Jupally Rameshwar Rao.
According to news paper reports, Revanth went on to state that Jupally Rameshwar Rao had purchased 5,000 acres of land in Shadnagar and that KCR’s move to merge Shadnagar into Greater Hyderabad will increase the demand for Jupally’s lands. Revanth opined that Shadnagar should be made the district’s headquarters to benefit the locals.
Big Relief: Venkaiah To Retain Cabinet Berth!
Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and Union Minister of State for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu has got a big relief, as he managed to convince the party high command and also Prime Minister Narendra Modi to retain him in the Central cabinet.According to reports from New Delhi, the BJP central leadership has decided to renominate Venkaiah to Rajya Sabha from Karnataka again in the forthcoming elections to be held next week.
This is for the third consecutive time that Venkaiah would get RS berth from Karnataka, though there is a stiff opposition from the local BJP leaders and cadre.Even the Kannada people have bombarded social media with messages that Venkaiah should be sent to AP, not Karnataka, as he does not know Kannada but would try to impose Hindi on them.
Yet, the BJP leadership could not find another ideal place for Venkaiah to become RS member. It does not want to beg for RS seat from AP, since TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu made it clear that his party would field candidates for all the three seats it gets.If at all there is a request from Modi, Naidu might have to give it to Nirmala Sitaraman for the second time. So, Venkaiah would have to move to Karnataka!
Chaithu in Nag’s BB Film Remake?
‘Ninne Pelladutha’ was one of the biggest blockbusters of King Nagarjuna. This romantic and family entertainer was directed by creative director Krishna Vamsi then. Naga Chaitanya is interested to do the remake of this sensational movie now. Krishna Vamsi, who directed original version, will be directing the remake as well. Having got debacles with some of the mass entertainers done by him, Chaithu has decided to do only romantic entertainers now. His forthcoming film ‘Premam’ and ‘Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo’ have been made as romantic entertainers.
‘Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo’ has been directed by Gautham Menon on his own banner Photon Kathas. Manjima Mohan plays opposite to Naga Chaitanya. Chaithu’s ‘Premam’ is being directed by Chandu Mondeti. Shruthi Haasan, Madonna Sebastian and Anupama Parameswaran are doing female leads of the movie.
Pawan’s Next Titled Husharu?
Pawan Kalyan’s last film Sardaar Gabbar Singh might have bit the dust. Undeterred by its debacle at the Box Office, Pawan has decided to move onto his next film directed by SJ Suryah. While the film had its muhurat sometime back, the latest is that movie is tentatively titled as Husharu. This is said to be working title of the film and Gabbar Singh actress Shruti Haasan has been zeroed in on to play female lead opposite Pawan in the movie.
Billed to be love story of a faction leader, the film has story by Akula Siva and it’s being produced by Pawan’s friend Sharrath Marar. Already Anoop Rubens has scored two tunes for the film and working on more tunes.
After wrapping up his family vacation, Pawan returned to city and now focusing on the film’s pre-production. It’s learnt that the film’s shoot will begin on June 2 in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu.It’s buzzed that most of the film shoot will be done outside Hyderabad unlike Sardaar. Stay tuned for more updates.

It’s a good Sunday for Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam as the film ran with packed theatres all over Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Unfazed by the mixed talk, the film drew crowds in large number. Especially family audiences who usually take time to visit theatres were seen thronging to catch glimpse of Mahesh.
“The camaraderie of Mahesh Babu and Satyaraj is being appreciated. The father-son sentiment is working out well for family audiences. Rao Ramesh role in the film has struck a chord with several sections. Lady fans of Mahesh Babu are going gaga on his looks, younger and fitter body,” said a source in the PVP Cinema.
Meanwhile, the film has crossed 1 Million USD in overseas and the production house is estimating that the movie would make 2 Million USD in its full run. Let’s wait and see.
Mahesh Babu’s New South Indian Record
Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam is heading towards being a big disaster. The movie which had seen a pre-release business of a whopping 73.5 Crore, is more likely to end up below 35 Crore Share in its full run. Amid all this gloom, the Superstar has got one New South Indian Record which will give him and his fans some sort of relief.
Brahmotsavam on Sunday crossed the One Million Dollars mark. This is the sixth One Million Dollars film for the actor. This is the highest number of One Million Dollars films, any actor from South India possesses. In Telugu, Pawan Kalyan and NTR are at distant second with only three such films.
Despite this feat, Brahmotsavam will also end up as a huge disaster in Overseas. The movie was bought for a sensational 13 Crore and has to make at least 2.7 Million Dollars gross to be a break-even which is very unlikely now. The buyers are expected to lose 80% of their investment in this film.
