Hyderabad: According to the existing strength of the parties in the Assembly, the TDP can nominate three candidates to the Rajya Sabha and the YSRCP can nominate one. But with more defections from the YSRCP, TDP is looking to wrest even the single seat that YSRCP has.
For this, the MLA count of YS Jagan has to come down to 43. Chandrababu Naidu is away on vacation and once he comes back, an official strategy might be put in place to attract the required number of YSRCP MLAs.Chandrababu is keen on wresting the Rajya Sabha seat from YSRCP as he has commitments of his own.
There is immense competition in the TDP for the Rajya Sabha seats not to mention the pressure being applied by its alliance partner the BJP for nomination as well. In this context, Naidu would do everything within his means to grab the YSRCP seat too.
I’m Getting Threatening Calls: YSRCP MLA
Just as TDP’s Operation Akarsh is gaining its steam, YSRCP’s Kavali MLA Ramireddy Prathap Kumar Reddy alleged that he is getting threatening calls from TDP leaders asking him to quit Jagan and join TDP. Prathap also said that he is not afraid of such
threats and that he will continue in YSRCP forever.
Recently, there were reports in several news dailies that Prathap Reddy too will be following the YSRCP MLAs who shifted their loyalties to TDP. Refuting these reports, Prathap Reddy said that certain TDP ministers approached him with open offers and were ready to pay him anything he wanted.
The Kavali MLA further said that he is ready to face any severe consequences for rejecting TDP offers and said that he will counter the threatening calls in his style. It is well known that 18 YSRCP MLAs jumped into TDP so far.

Pencil Movie Review – 2/5
Story :
Shiva (GV Prakash Kumar) is a bright student of a school who is in one side love with his classmate Maaya Devineni (Sri Divya). And then there is this arrogant brat, Nitin (Shaariq Hassan) who is the son of Telugu Superstar Suresh Babu. He is always a trouble maker for other students.
One day, he happens to burn a speech copy prepared by Shiva for two years, to deliver at UNESCO. And then Shiva vows to kill him. Under mysterious conditions, Nitin gets killed with a Pencil and Shiva is in dock. What really happened? Who killed Nitin? How the mystery is unearthed forms the rest.
Performances:
GV Prakash had improved as an actor from his previous film, Trisha Ledha Nayantara. But there is still a big room for development. Good thing is that he is selecting scripts suiting him. Sri Divya has done a nice job as Maaya. She is seen as a brave girl with good clarity on life. Shaariq Hassan is an asset to the film as he walks through the role effortlessly. VT Ganeshan tickles the funny bone to some extent while others are fine in their roles.
Technical Performances:
Mani Nagaraj came up with a wafer thin story for the film and had chosen a okay-ish screenplay. The major flaw with the film is its narration. The story is narrated in a way that we can easily predict what is going to happen next. The suspense point in the film which should be the cash point falls flat. So Mani Nagaraj is a disappointment to a great extent in his debut film.
GV Prakash came up with a mediocre album with disappointing tunes. Further the Telugu adaptation only made them worse. However he did good job with the back ground score. Gopi Amarnath’s camera work is too good. The lighting and framing enhanced the mood of the film. Anthony should have been more careful with his scissors. Rajeevan did a good job with his art work. The stunts composed by Super and Dileep Subbarayan are nice. Production values are good.

Minus Points :
1. Predictable narration

Final Say:
The first half of the thriller film is used only for establishing the characters and conflicts between the leads. Some okay-ish entertainment but no thrilling elements, makes it so-so stuff. The second half where the establishing the murderer needs to be tight and gripping, is let off by poor narration. All in all, Pencil ends up as a below average murder mystery.
Lead Lady confirmed for Megastar’s 150?
If the buzz in the Filmnagar is to be believed, Anushka is confirmed as the heroine in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Prestigious 150th film. The makers have considered Nayantara and Anushka first but call sheets have become a problem for Nayan.
Also there are reports that she is troubling Babu Bangaram team very much with out allotting dates. And so Chiranjeevi decided to go with Anushka. Sources say the movie will begin in July and they will start the shooting proceedings with songs abroad.
Ram Charan and his mother Surekha will be producing the film under their new banner, Konidela Production Company. VV Vinayak is wielding megaphone for this project which happens to be the official remake of Tamil blockbuster, Kaththi. Vinayak previously directed Chiranjeevi in a blockbuster Tagore which is also a remake.
Devi Sri Prasad will be composing music for this film. This is his second film with Chiranjeevi after Shankar Dada MBBS. Robot fame Rathnavelu will be cranking the camera. The makers will very soon announce the rest of the cast and crew details.
24 Telugu Movie First Week Collections
Tamil Star Hero Suriya’s latest offering 24 has completed its first week run at the box office. The movie collected about 11.5 Crore Share only from AP and Nizam in this seven days run. The Telugu version interestingly did well than the Tamil version and is the savior for the makers. If not for the bad release of the Telugu version, the figures would have been even better.
The movie did well in A centers, Multiplexes and Overseas. It is likely to continue the good work there since there are no notable releases this week. The movie is likely to wash out from theaters when Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam arrives on 20th May.
