Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Brahmotsavam is gearing up for a grand release on 20th of this month. Huge number of Overseas Premieres are planned a day before in Overseas. The makers are likely to complete their censor formalities tomorrow and will immediately ship the drives necessary for the Overseas Premieres.

Currently the final mixing of the second half is going on and they are hopeful of getting the first copy tonight. Mickey J. Meyer is the music composer. Samantha, Pranitha and Kajal Aggarwal are romancing Mahesh Babu in this film which is a family entertainer.

Potluri Vara Prasad is producing the film on his PVP Cinemas Banner. The movie is already seeing some sensational pre-release business. The makers have planned an aggressive promotional campaign for the film before and after the release.

Brahmotsavam will have the advantage of no competition at the box office. Sarainodu, 24 and Supreme will be losing their steam by then and the next release, Nithin and Trivikram’s A..Aa will only arrive two weeks later.

King Nagarjuna and Tamil actor Karthi’s latest offering, Oopiri/Thozha completed their full run at the box office. Both the Telugu and Tamil versions put together have collected 50.32 Crore Share. These are mindblowing numbers given the fact, the movie was a class film and can be considered as a brave effort since Nagarjuna is confined to wheel chair through out the film.

This is the first 50 Crore Share film in Nagarjuna’s career. His previous blockbuster, Soggade Chinni Nayana just missed it. This is also the biggest hit in the career of Karthi. Oopiri/Thozha is the official remake of French film, The Untouchables and was directed by Vamshi Paidipalli.

Last week, Sai Dharam Tej’s “Supreme” and Suriya starrer bilingual “24” released in theatres worldwide in a big way. While Vikram Kumar’s “24” got rave reviews and took the box-office by storm on the first day, “Supreme” received mixed reviews and got decent openings.Expectedly, Suriya’s “24” has performed strongly in A centers like Hyderabad city. By end of first week the movie has collected more than Rs 4 Crs in Nizam area alone.

In Krishna district, it has collected Rs 76 lakhs. In East Godavari, it has collected an impressive 83 lakhs.In West Godavari too, the movie has brought in Rs 55 lakhs in first week. And in Ceded, the first week share is about Rs 1.70 Cr. Overall, the movie has performed well in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

On the other hand, “Supreme” has showed steadfast collections in B and C centers throughout the week and has grossed decent amount by end of the first week. It has collected approximate Rs 11 Crs in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana states.Since the film was bought by Abhishek Pictures for a whopping amount, it needs to post strong collections this week too to turn out to be a hit.

Young Akkineni hero Akhil is surely annoyed by the rumors that are being spread about his next film. Akhil took to Twitter to put an end to the rumors that director Vamsi Paidipalli walked out of his film.Akhil is baffled by online and print media constantly targeting him without even verifying the facts before publishing.

Akhil called these as nonsensical rumors and said that his project with Vamsi Paidipalli is very much on.“Writing false info without confirming is not only damaging but also hurts your credibility. Vamshi and I are very much working together,” Akhil tweeted.

He requested media ‘friends’ to feel free to contact his PR or manager to find the facts before spreading false news.“My dear friends from the print and online media. I have a manager and a PR team. It was just the repeated mention about collections, blockbuster and records whenever the Sarrainodu team promotes or celebrates the success. The team boasted of joining 100 Crore club and rewriting previous records after the movie reached to top 5 highest grossers in Telugu.

This huge promotion and blockbuster talk might have helped the movie to make some big money, but it has caught the attention of Income tax department. The statements and posters directly from Sarrainodu reportedly made IT department send notices to producer Allu Aravind asking the details of tax to be paid.

Sarrainodu opened with mixed talk and later picked up with giant promotions and publicity. Sardaar’s failure and Supreme’s average run helped Sarrainodu grab some bucks. But the team claiming overseas records, first week records, gross records and 100 Crore club through press releases and posters attracted Income tax department and now they are heard to be asking for 100 crore breakdown and tax for that.
