In yet another media conference following the horrific violence which took place in Tuni during the Kapu Aikya Garjana agitation yesterday, AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu responded to Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan’s comments a while ago.

During his press meet this evening, Pawan questioned Babu government’s failures in not deploying additional forces which could have averted the riots caused by thousands of protestors. In his response, Babu said Pawan could be right in his opinion and said that things would have gone totally out of control had he deployed additional forces.

Babu said that he employed limited policemen only to not invite criticism of obstructing the Kapu meeting and that he asked the police personnel to maintain restraint since their action could have sparked off an even bigger unrest which would have rattled off the harmony in the state.

Babu also gave a fitting counter to the YSRCP president YS Jagan’s allegations asking him why his late father YS Rajasekhara Reddy didn’t include Kapus in BCs even though he mentioned it in his election manifesto.

Venturing out a full throttle attack on Jagan, Babu said evil forces have been trying hard to project the government as anti Kapu and that antisocial elements have been spreading rumors that Kapus will attack other communities.

Babu said that Kapus will never resort to such violence and that only criminals have such a mindset and that he will not spare any criminal involved in the riot.

With all his ploys to push the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu to a corner fizzling out without creating any ripples in the state government, the Kapu agitation seems to have given a new elixir to the YSRCP president YS Jagan.

In a press meet today, Jagan extended his support to the Kapu agitation, which started out with the demand of the inclusion of Kapus into BCs. Jagan tried to gain advantage over the CM as he alleged Chandrababu’s tyranny in suppressing the Kapu agitation is highly condemnable.

Jagan then accused Chandrababu of getting the iconic Kapu leader Vangaveeti Ranga assassinated when  he flagged off the Kapu Nadu movement in 1988. With these vehement attacks, Jagan seems to be reminding Ranga to the Kapus even though the community is maintaining composure by not dragging Ranga’s name into each of their issues.

In a surprising turn off events, actress turned politician Vijayasanthi extended her support to her ‘Gang Leader’ hero Chiranjeevi on his stand on Kapu reservations even as the Megastar is facing the brickbats for his inconclusive stand on the issue.

The former heroine said that Chiranjeevi is ‘right’ in his stand about the issue of reservation for Kapus. Vijayasanthi’s support is rather unexpected since the yesteryear super hit silver screen couple ran into severe ideological differences during the separate Telangana movement where Vijayasanthi lashed out at Chiru for his united Andhra stand.

The former MP, who has been keeping herself away from active politics since long, further demanded both the TDP and BJP parties to resolve the Kapu reservation crisis at the earliest and without causing any loss to the BC communities.

Earlier today, Chiru had written an open letter to the AP CM Chandrababu Naidu demanding that he declare his unanimous support towards Kapu reservations in the Assembly and send the house’s decision to the centre to ratify it.
