And now, the director is looking forward for a hat-trick with his ongoing movie ‘Oopiri’. King Nagarjuna, Karthi and Tamannah are doing the lead roles of the film. The story line of the movie has been taken from Hollywood’s hit film ‘The Intouchables’.

Meanwhile, none of the projects of Akhil has been launched post the release of his debut film ‘Akhil’. Buzz is that Vamsi Pydipally is likely to wield megaphone for Akhil’s next. If at all the news is proved right, Vamsi Pydipally will get a rare opportunity directing two back to back films with two generations of Akkineni heroes. Nonetheless, an official announcement is awaited.

Young Tiger NTR’s ‘Naannaku Prematho’ collected a share of Rs.41.64 crores world wide at the end of its first week’s run. This is definitely very decent number considering the first day’s talk of the movie.

In Karnataka alone the movie collected a share of Rs.4.60 crores for seven days. However, some of the media houses are gossiped to have showed it as Rs.5.39 crores and in the name of extended first week, they projected it to Rs.5.55 crores for 9 days.

NTR’s fans have been delighted with this number while some anti fans are contradicting with the share saying that the movie’s share could not jump from Rs.3.50+ cr. for 4 days to Rs.5.55 cr. in 9 days. Whatever it is, movie fans are admired with the movie’s performance in Karnataka.

Meanwhile, ‘Naannaku Prematho’ is expected to add up between 6 crores to Rs.8 more crores than its first week share, at the end of its full run. This Sukumar’s directorial venture was produced by BVSN Prasad on SVCC banner.

Keerthi Suresh enthralled the audiences with her glamour and performance in Energetic Star Ram’s ‘Nenu Sailaja’. Her role in the film is said to be one of the highlights of the movie, that makes a decent hit.

Chennai: The first look and teaser of the Telugu remake of Malayalam blockbuster “Premam” will be unveiled on February 19. The remake is tentatively titled “Majnu”. “The makers will release the first look poster as well as teaser on February 19. They’ve already completed two schedules of shooting and will soon start working on the third schedule,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.

Starring Naga Chaitanya, Shruti Haasan and Anupama Parameswaran, the film’s makers are yet to finalize the third heroine. “They are still on the lookout for the third heroine.

Since her portion comes towards the end of the film, which they plan to shoot later, they’re yet to zero in on a suitable actress,” the source added. The film is directed by Chandoo Mondeti, and is being predominantly shot in Vishakhapatnam.

Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s film “Dilwale” is going strong overseas, collecting $25.6 million internationally. The romantic action comedy movie has made a gross collection of over Rs.365 crore worldwide. The Rohit Shetty-directorial is the highest collecting film in Singapore, South Africa, Netherlands, Malaysia, West Indies and Jordan, claims SRK’s production banner Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

The banner also claims that it is the second highest collecting film of all time in overseas markets such as UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, Peru, Kuwait, Indonesia, Egypt and Morocco. Some other countries that saw the highest opening weekend for a Bollywood film include Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Pakistan.

Pakistan and Australia saw trends of a different kind, where “Dilwale” is said to become the third film ever to cross $2 million and the first ever SRK film to cross Australian dollar one million, respectively. While in Britain, it earned one million pounds in just five days.

“Dilwale” is now the highest grossing Shah Rukh-starrer film in the overseas market, read a statement from the production house. Only 16 films so far have crossed $10 million overseas, in which SRK has nine films, which shows the reach and following he is enjoying overseas.

“Diwale”, which marked the return of Bollywood’s most-loved onscreen couple — SRK and Kajol — after five years, released alongside filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s “Bajirao Mastani” on December 18 last year.

The Sukumar directorial is heading towards 2 million dollar mark in the territory. But, the snow storm has delayed the record.

The revenge drama film has collected $22K on Friday, taking total to $1.79 Million. If there was no snowfall, Nannaku Prematho would have easily crossed 2 million dollar mark by the weekend. Collections of other Telugu films were also weak on Friday, due to the blizzard.

Nagarjuna’s Soggade Chinni Nayana is also the most to affect with the snow storm. When the film’s collections are increasing with positive mouth talk, it was sudden stoppage.

In his first ever public appearance after the grand success of Vedalam and his knee surgery, Tamil star Thala Ajith created a major storm at a passport office in Chennai yesterday.

Even though Ajith’s team and the passport officials kept the star’s visit a secret, the news leaked on social media and thousands of Thala fans surrounded the building to catch his glimpse. Chaos took place as fans went berserk and Ajith couldn’t come out of sea of fans.

The passport officials then sent Ajith and his family safely in a Government of India vehicle for a smooth exit. Ajith and his family visited the passport office to apply for a new passport for his little son, the Kitty Thala Aadhivk. The family will soon be off to London for a 2 month vacation, before he fully recuperates and commences his 57th film.

Not many of us knew that some of our heroes can predict a movie’s fate much before its release. Chiranjeevi and Nagarjuna are capable of judging the movie during the make or atleast after watching final copy, they say. That must be the reason why Chiru suggests changes to all mega films and Nagarjuna wanted to reshoot Akhil’s scenes.

He claims to have felt Ontari doesnot suit his face and image much earlier and the movie was a big dud. And everyone knows how big disaster Mogudu was. Krishna Vamsi wanted to recreate the plot of Viyyalavari Kayyalu made by Gopichand’s father T Krishna, but execution went miserable leaving it as the biggest flop for our hero.

Gopichand’s selection of subject can’t be blamed as he knows the fate of almost all his failure films much before making them. But his guess has no value when the choice is with others who make the film with him. Sometimes Gopichand kept his doubts aside, trusting the experienced directors which finally gave him enough flops like RaaRaju, Ontari, Mogudu etc.

There is one movie where Gopichand himself walked out of the theatre in middle of the movie and also told that the movie will be flop for sure. It is Wanted in BVS Ravi direction. Good that Gopichand had that instinct on his film subject, bad that he can’t make decisions based on that all the time!
