Tamil star hero and leader of DDMK Vijayakanth is known for his firebrand ways both on and off the screen. Today, the senior politicians invited severe ire from angry media men for his uncivilized behavior by spitting and shouting at them.

Today, Vijayakanth participated in a blood camp organized by his party. Journalists asked him if AIADMK would regain power in the next assembly polls. Initially, Vijayakanth said, “AIADMK will not capture power at all.”

And suddenly, Vijayakanth shot back at the journalists asking them, “Do you have guts to pose this question to Jayalalithaa? You will not ask. You will be afraid! Are you journalists.” Not stopping here, the angry politician allegedly spat on the journalists.

A large group of journalists organized a protest meet and demanded an open apology from Vijayakanth and even threatened to boycott all his politcial and film releated events in the future. The angry scribes even suggested Vijaykanth to spit on his own channel, Captain TV, instead.

After its third weekend at box office, Bengal Tiger amassed nearly 21.81 crores of ‘share’, while the theatrical rights are sold for 22 crores including print and publicity. In Andhra and Telangana alone, the film garnered 18.09 crores, while it collected 2.17 crores share from Karnataka, 1 crore from USA and 55 lakhs from other places. Probably with few theatres still running the show, some distributors might cross the finish line but others will escape with minor bruises.

Though there are no hefty profits for distributors, it’s good that they have suffered huge losses unlike in the cases of films like Soukyam. Appreciate director Sampath Nandi’s inclusion of proper commercial elements in this otherwise routine film. Tamanna’s glamour and Rashi Khanna’s bikini treat is another value added asset for Bengal Tiger.

Noted comedian Potti Rambabu passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday in Hyderabad. Rambabu was 35 year old. He was diagnosed with neuronal cell damage and brain stroke. He was admitted to a private hospital on Sunday after his condition deteriorated. Doctors had declared that his condition was critical. Despite several efforts, he couldn’t survive.

Potti Rambabu was noted for his role in Prabhas’ debut movie Eeshwar. He was seen alongside Prabhas in the film. He acted in several other films like Class Room, Chantigadu, Prematho, Nuvvu Vasthavani and others. He acted in over 40 films. Rambabu was native of Burugupudi village in Korukonda Mandal of East Godavari district.

While several comedians turned into lead protagonists and tested their luck, Potti Rambabu too tried to become hero. Recently, a film with him as lead Puli Raja, IPS was under filming during when he was suffered with clotting of blood in brain. Of late, several comedians and actors passed away. Comedian Potti Rambabu joined this legion with his untimely death.

Long back, Murugadoss’ ‘Ramana’ movie was remade in Telugu as ‘Tagore’ and VV Vinayak held the responsibilities as a director. Similarly, Murugadoss’ directorial ‘Kaththi’ will be remade by VV Vinayak. Moreover, ‘Kaththi’ has all basic elements that suit to Chiranjeevi’s stature. The movie has strong social problem and its solution, mass entertaining fights, challenges with villain, soft and dignified romance with heroine and so on.

WILL Chiranjeevi SUIT TO ‘KATHTHI’ SUBJECT?: ‘Kaththi’ is a tailor made subject for Chiranjeevi. In fact, Chiranjeevi is the best choice for this subject rather any hero owing to his Megastar status and he being a politician.

WHERE CAN Chiranjeevi EXCEL HIS PERFORMANCE?: Chiranjeevi will be playing dual roles in ‘Kaththi’ and one of the roles reminds us ‘Rowdy Alludu’s Auto Jaani character. There will be ample chances to display Chiranjeevi’s mark of romantic comedy with the heroine. And then, Chiranjeevi performance in uttering emotional and powerful speech during the press meet in second half is expected to be outstanding and it might remind the audience ‘Tagore’ moments.

SHOULD THERE BE ANY CHANGES IN ‘KATHTHI’ SCRIPT?: Although ‘Kaththi’ original had gripping screen play in it, it had very limited number of songs and they were not upto the mark. The Last song shoot of Young Tiger NTR’s Nannaku Prematho was complete on Monday. The song ‘Love Dhebba’ was canned in the special set erected in Annapurna 7 acres Studio. The movie shoot is now all complete except for one day patch work.

The music album of the film and the theatrical trailer just doubled the hype and the expectations.January 13th is the release date as Sankranthi Special. Creative director Sukumar is wielding megaphone for this movie.

Even though he was lauded for all his soul-stirring emotional films since Gamyam till Kanche, passionate director Krish has not tasted much box-office success. However, this did not deter the director, who is now ready with yet another interesting genre film.

As per the latest buzz, Krish’s next film will be a spy thriller and the film has been tentatively titled Rayabari, as it was in discussions over the last few weeks. Krish may once again rope in his Kanche actors, Varun Tej and Pragya Jaiswal, even for this film.

Even though not too many details are available regarding this project at the moment, the film is said to begin in early next year. Let’s wait until a few more months to know more about Rayabari. Going by his past projects, no wonder that we have one more riveting film from the talented filmmaker.
