Having watched the audio launch events, theatrical trailers and teasers of all the three big films to be releasing for Sankranthi, it is understood that war is not one sided. Every movie has its pros and cons in it and the production teams of respective movies have pinned all of their hopes winning the hearts of audiences.

Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dictator’ is the only mass entertainer releasing for Sankranthi. The songs and the trailers haven’t impressed the netigens much but it cannot be denied that a maximum section of audience are fond of watching commercial potboilers. No guesses whether ‘Dictator’ tops or flops. Positive buzz, all of a sudden, encircled on ‘Naannaku Prematho’ ever since the audio got released on Sunday.Rave reviews were received by the team for the classy edit of the theatrical trailer of the movie. Even then, it remains to be seen how well the mass audiences and die hard fans of Young Tiger NTR from B and C centers will receive the movie.

‘Soggade Chinni Nayana’s audio function, brought the laurels among King Nagarjuna’s fans. Nagarjuna’s comedy as ‘Bangarraju’ appears to be the saving grace for the movie among Sankranthi films. It is also learnt that the movie gets top rated theaters for its release. However, Nagarjuna’s movies haven’t got a wider reach for the past couple of years such that no record breaking collections are recorded for his movies. Let’s not hope, the same factor will be repeated for his next release.

All in all, every movie appears to have its strengths and weaknesses. In this scenario, war cannot be expected from one side. All movies have good chances to score big at the box office.

Tamil star hero and leader of DDMK Vijayakanth is known for his firebrand ways both on and off the screen. Today, the senior politicians invited severe ire from angry media men for his uncivilized behavior by spitting and shouting at them.

Today, Vijayakanth participated in a blood camp organized by his party. Journalists asked him if AIADMK would regain power in the next assembly polls. Initially, Vijayakanth said, “AIADMK will not capture power at all.”

And suddenly, Vijayakanth shot back at the journalists asking them, “Do you have guts to pose this question to Jayalalithaa? You will not ask. You will be afraid! Are you journalists.” Not stopping here, the angry politician allegedly spat on the journalists.

A large group of journalists organized a protest meet and demanded an open apology from Vijayakanth and even threatened to boycott all his politcial and film releated events in the future. The angry scribes even suggested Vijaykanth to spit on his own channel, Captain TV, instead.

Bengal Tiger – Critics disliked and audiences enjoyed. That’s what we have to say if the 18 days world wide collections are anything to go by. Mass Raja has once again proved that his comedy alone will work wonders no matter what the content of his films is.

After its third weekend at box office, Bengal Tiger amassed nearly 21.81 crores of ‘share’, while the theatrical rights are sold for 22 crores including print and publicity. In Andhra and Telangana alone, the film garnered 18.09 crores, while it collected 2.17 crores share from Karnataka, 1 crore from USA and 55 lakhs from other places. Probably with few theatres still running the show, some distributors might cross the finish line but others will escape with minor bruises.

Though there are no hefty profits for distributors, it’s good that they have suffered huge losses unlike in the cases of films like Soukyam. Appreciate director Sampath Nandi’s inclusion of proper commercial elements in this otherwise routine film. Tamanna’s glamour and Rashi Khanna’s bikini treat is another value added asset for Bengal Tiger.

Noted comedian Potti Rambabu passed away in the wee hours of Tuesday in Hyderabad. Rambabu was 35 year old. He was diagnosed with neuronal cell damage and brain stroke. He was admitted to a private hospital on Sunday after his condition deteriorated. Doctors had declared that his condition was critical. Despite several efforts, he couldn’t survive.

Potti Rambabu was noted for his role in Prabhas’ debut movie Eeshwar. He was seen alongside Prabhas in the film. He acted in several other films like Class Room, Chantigadu, Prematho, Nuvvu Vasthavani and others. He acted in over 40 films. Rambabu was native of Burugupudi village in Korukonda Mandal of East Godavari district.

While several comedians turned into lead protagonists and tested their luck, Potti Rambabu too tried to become hero. Recently, a film with him as lead Puli Raja, IPS was under filming during when he was suffered with clotting of blood in brain. Of late, several comedians and actors passed away. Comedian Potti Rambabu joined this legion with his untimely death.

Megastar Chiranjeevi might have listened to many scripts for his prestigious 150th venture. But then, finally, he opted for the remake of Tamil blockbuster ‘Kaththi’. The movie will go on sets soon. Let’s go for an analysis on the suitability of ‘Kaththi’ script for Chiranjeevi.

WHAT PROMPTED Chiranjeevi SELECTING ‘KATHTHI’?: Comparing with other stars of his generation in Tollywood and other industries, Chiranjeevi has more responsibility doing movies which have strong social message in them and the reason for this responsibility is that Chiranjeevi is not only the Megastar but also holds the status of former union minister. As such he preferred doing action drama ‘Kaththi’ that has strong and powerful message in it.

Long back, Murugadoss’ ‘Ramana’ movie was remade in Telugu as ‘Tagore’ and VV Vinayak held the responsibilities as a director. Similarly, Murugadoss’ directorial ‘Kaththi’ will be remade by VV Vinayak. Moreover, ‘Kaththi’ has all basic elements that suit to Chiranjeevi’s stature. The movie has strong social problem and its solution, mass entertaining fights, challenges with villain, soft and dignified romance with heroine and so on.

WILL Chiranjeevi SUIT TO ‘KATHTHI’ SUBJECT?: ‘Kaththi’ is a tailor made subject for Chiranjeevi. In fact, Chiranjeevi is the best choice for this subject rather any hero owing to his Megastar status and he being a politician.

WHERE CAN Chiranjeevi EXCEL HIS PERFORMANCE?: Chiranjeevi will be playing dual roles in ‘Kaththi’ and one of the roles reminds us ‘Rowdy Alludu’s Auto Jaani character. There will be ample chances to display Chiranjeevi’s mark of romantic comedy with the heroine. And then, Chiranjeevi performance in uttering emotional and powerful speech during the press meet in second half is expected to be outstanding and it might remind the audience ‘Tagore’ moments.

SHOULD THERE BE ANY CHANGES IN ‘KATHTHI’ SCRIPT?: Although ‘Kaththi’ original had gripping screen play in it, it had very limited number of songs and they were not upto the mark. Five songs can be an ideal number for Chiranjeevi. No need of trimming of any scenes as the flavour of the substance and message may be lost.

WHAT WILL Chiranjeevi ACHIEVE WITH ‘KATHTHI’?: Irrespective of the result of the movie, Chiranjeevi will surely receive appreciations for the selection of the message oriented action drama. if at the the movie scores a blockbuster, the result will surely help him both politically and as a hero.

The Last song shoot of Young Tiger NTR’s Nannaku Prematho was complete on Monday. The song ‘Love Dhebba’ was canned in the special set erected in Annapurna 7 acres Studio. The movie shoot is now all complete except for one day patch work.

The music album of the film and the theatrical trailer just doubled the hype and the expectations.January 13th is the release date as Sankranthi Special. Creative director Sukumar is wielding megaphone for this movie.

Energetic Hero Ram’s latest offering, Nenu Sailaja has completed its censor formalities on Monday evening. The movie has got U/A certificate with no cuts. With this all the decks for the movie release are cleared and the movie will see light on January 1st as New Year Special.

The music album of the film is a chart buster and that gives the film the necessary push. Now that the censor is complete, the promotions will intensify. Keerthi Suresh is making her Telugu debut with this movie.

There will be ample glamour oozed out by Anjali, Sonal Chowhan and Akha in Natasimham Nandamuri Balakrishna’s ‘Dictator’ However, the makers stills seem to have been not satisfied with the glamour quotient of the movie.

As such a special song that starts with the lines ‘Tinga tinga’ has been shot on two super hot beauties Shraddha Das and Mumaith Khan, who tapped their feet along with Balakrishna. Prem Rakshit master has choreographed the song.

The movie is gearing up for release on January 14. Theatrical trailer of the movie assures us another mass masala entertainer from Balakrishna after his last year’s big hit ‘Legend’.
