I Can’t Shut My Mouth : Mohan Babu
Even after acting in over 500 films and gearing up for the release of Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu which happens to be his 181st film as hero, Mohan Babu is as excited as his previous films. Well-known for his discipline attitude, Mohan Babu is a very strict producer, actor in the industry. In an exclusive and elaborate interview to Gulte, Mohan Babu says he can’t shut his mouth when he finds something wrong around him. He says he can’t spare corruption.
“I hear people saying that I’m very serious person. Yes, when people don’t come on time, I get angry. If you don’t come on time, flight won’t wait for you. If you don’t come on time, movie won’t wait for you. It’ll be screened as per time. There you pay and still you go on time as they won’t wait for you. But when it comes to films shootings, you (actors) take money, take remunerations and still come to sets late wasting money of producers and time of other artistes,” fires Mohan Babu who has been acting for over 40 years in the film industry.
Throwing an open challenge, Mohan Babu says, “Show me one person who complains about my production house that it hasn’t paid actors on time. Even if it’s delayed, we will inform them in prior. When we’re paying them on time, it’s common to expect them to come to shoot on time. Producer pays lot of interest and investing huge monies, he’s taking big risk as he is not sure whether he incurs profits or losses but he pays to people who all works for his film. In my opinion, producer is the real King.”
“I can proudly say that old is gold. Those generation of actors, filmmakers are very different from present age actors, filmmakers. I don’t want to point out any individual but most of them are like that. Only 5 per cent of present day starts, makers are punctual, committed. Rest 95% sans discipline, dedication,” says Mohan Babu.
“Even after 23 years long, Ramya Krishna and Meena are still same. Either in discipline or in their acting commitment, I haven’t observed any change. They’re still very passionate about acting and dedicated to the roles, films they choose,” shares Mohan Babu about his co-stars in his latest film Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu.
Talking about Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu, Mohan Babu gives a peep into film. “After Allari Mogudu, I haven’t acted in such film yet. Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu is such film that is so close to my heart. I have two wives in the film. It has a reason. Why did I marry twice? What led to it? I have a daughter (Poorna) and Alludu (Allari Naresh). What’s the tiff I’m going to have with him? There are several twists in the movie. It’s going to be complete hilarious.”
Prod him what he observed in young generation stars. “I don’t want to talk about present generation stars. While few are exception, most of others don’t know how to deliver dialogue properly or pronounce Telugu well. I give very least credit for dances. Acting is different from dancing. Dialogue modulation, delivery, facial expressions matter a lot in my opinion.”
“Many say I’m angry person. I can’t shut my mouth when I see wrong things around me. I won’t spare corruption. Since I came from middle-class family, I am always against to corruption. My children (Vishnu, Manoj, Lakshmi) keep telling me not to talk about politics, I try to be silent. How can a juvenile get away from punishment even after proved of guilty for a gruesome rape, murder of a girl. What’s this law? It needs immediate correction. What’s the message we’re sending it to the new generation?, ” says an upset Mohan Babu.
Mohan Babu challenges that he is so clean and haven’t committed any wrong even as he represented Member of Raya Sabha. “I can proudly say that I haven’t done single mistake in my cinema career or political career. That’s why I’m able to talk such boldly. I challenge anyone to show single mistake of mine.”
Meanwhile, Mohan Babu is all confident of his next Mama Manchu Alludu Kanchu which is being produced by his elder son-actor Vishnu Manchu. On parting note he says he wants to continue as an actor and admits his love for villain roles.
Dawood Car Set On Fire, Scrap Parts For Toilet
Fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim, once the ruling deity of Mumbai’s underworld, is currently based out of Karachi in Pakistan and is protected by the country’s security forces round-the-clock.
The green color Hyundai Accent sedan Dawood used in his glory days was burnt by Swami Chakrapani and Akhil Bhartiya, Hindu Mahasabha (ABHMS) activists at Green Park farmhouse near Kanavani village culvert in Indirapuram with Dawood’s posters pasted on its windscreen. The tumbledown vehicle was auctioned in Mumbai recently for Rs 32,000.
Addressing the ABHMS activists, Chakrapani, who owned the car in the auction, said that he wanted to convert the car into an ambulance but due to threats from the underworld, he decided to burn the car publicly. “The car’s scrap will be used to make toilet which will be stationed at Hindon river crematorium if the district authorities permit him.
Otherwise, it will be used as a mobile toilet for public usage to spread a message among the masses against terrorism,” said Chakrapani. District Ghaziabad police was present at the protest site but did not intervene into the matter.
Nag Getting Sentimental With Shriya
Unlike his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao, who is an atheist and practical man, his son Nagarjuna is quite sentimental and a devotee kind. And he has now started believing in many sentiments, if we have to go by the latest reports. Kathi’s presence, Tamanna’ milky glamour, Anushka’s cameo, Shruti Haasan’s supposed item number; nothing have really excited King Nagarjuna.
Real reasons are not known but now he has roped in Shriya to do another “Manam” like act in the film “Oopiri”, remake of French film The Intouchables. Despite the fact that “Oopiri” shoot was supposed to be wrapped long back, director Vamsi Paidipalli is shooting still.
A new schedule will take off soon and almost all the star-cast are likely to take part in it. And with Shriya’s arrival on board, it’s looking like Nagarjuna is getting sentimental to get the content work miracles at box office. Another film of Nag,
Soggade Chinni Nayana, went through many re-shoots before finally getting locked for Sankranthi 2016 release. Hope Nag’s concerns with script and his rework on it, will work wonders.
Bad Spoofs: Warning Bells Ringing
Depending on spoofs for fun once in a while is fine. But always hanging around the same spoofs is going to cost Kona Venkat and Gopi Mohan all the fame they have amassed. Today’s release Soukyam is an example of what will happen in the future if these star writers don’t leave spoofs.
Baahubali, Srimanthudu and Temper spoof are used in Soukyam, only to demean those films and insult those creations. While the target of these bad spoofs through such insults is creating fun, they didn’t succeeded today. Not even a single laugh could be seen on anyone’s face in theatre by the time Brahmanandam’s Temper spoof arrived on the screen. That’s an indication, warning bells are ringing.
Needless to say, Sreenu Vaitla’s films have Brahmi and others playing some unique roles with well sounding names like McDowel Murthy, Paris Prasad and Padma Sri. He occasionally used spoof dialogues to invent fun. But starting with Kona Venkat, all other writers are now directly using a hit film’s scene and sequence as a spoof. If badly made, these spoofs are going to show their disastrous effect. Still doubts? Watch Soukyam once.
Cctv Visuals: BTech Student falls to his death
It was a regular practice for some of students in the engineering college to jump to adjacent buildings (hostels). But it was the first time for a 19 year old Sai Krishna. The B Tech first-year student died after he accidentally fell from the three-floor hostel. Sai’s friend had crossed over by jumping to the adjoining building, but for Sai it was unfortunate.
Well, going into the details, Sai failed to place his foot properly on the bordering wall of the adjacent building and suddenly fell, while trying to cross over to an adjoining building from his hostel in Petbasheerabad area, like his friends usually do. He sustained serious head injuries and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital. Due to the severe injuries, Sai died while doctors were giving him treatment.
Local TV channels aired CCTV camera footage showing Sai unsuccessfully trying to cross over to another building and falling down from the building. A case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of CrPC has been registered in connection and further probe is on.
