Akhil to Endorse More Ads
The disastrous performance of ‘Alhil’ movie at the box office has not shown any impact on Akkinenis’ scion Akhil grabbing ads. He is going to be the brand ambassador for ‘Peta India’ (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) soon. Furthermore, renowned vermicelli product ‘Bambino’ associated with ‘Akhil’ film. Akhil has done it well promoting this ad. Akhil may endorse more number of ads in near future.
Akhil’s debut film ‘Akhil’, however, failed to live up to everyone’s expectations. The movie collected a share of Rs.17 crores at the end of its first week’s run. Billed to be an action and adventurous thriller ‘Akhil’ film has been directed by VV Vinayak. Sayesha Saigal has shared screen space with Akhil in the film.
As the very debut film Akhil turned out to be a dud, Akhil is now pondering to do a romantic entertainer which is the luckiest genre for his dad King Nagarjuna and granddad thespian ANR since the veteran stars delivered many hits and blockbusters and were shot to fame with romantic entertainers.
Title Change for Venkatesh – Maruthi film
It is known that Venkatesh and director Maruthi are teaming up for their next project. Earlier the makers have considered Radhakrishna as the film title. But now they have a change of mind. The movie is now titled Rajaratnam and comes with a caption, 24 Carats Bangaram.
The movie will have its launch on 16th of the next month and the regular shooting will follow. Nayantara is playing the lead lady in the film. This is the third film in their combination after Lakshmi and Tulasi.
The makers have offered a whopping 1.5 Crore to Nayantara for this film and it becomes her highest remuneration till date in Telugu. A new production house, Sitara Creations will be making their debut with this film. Young Music director, Ghibran will be composing the music.
Allu Arjun’s Favour to ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ and ‘Kumari 21F’
Stylish Star Allu Arjun turned out to be the golden leg for hero Nani’s ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoy’ and RajTharun’s ‘Kumari 21F’. As we all know, Allu Arjun graced the audio launch functions of ‘BBM” and ‘Kumari 21F’ as a chief guest. Both the movies scored super hits at the box office.
Directed by Maruthi ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoi’ collected a share of around Rs.25 crores in its full run and fetched maximum profits to its makers and buyers. Geetha Arts and UV Creations produced the movie as a joint venture.
On the other hand, Sukumar’s production venture ‘Kumari 21F’ was released today and received stunning openings with a positive word of mouth. Current trend of the movie clearly indicates it’s gonna be a super hit venture for sure at the ticket windows. Heebah Patel has romanced with Raj Tharun in this bold and beautiful romantic entertainer.
Kumari 21F Movie Review – 3/5
Leading director Sukumar turning producer to make concept based movies with upcoming talent was welcomed by all in the movie industry. His first movie Kumari 21F starring Raj Tharun who has given two hits in a row has generated great expectations.
The promos have connected with the youth. So has the movie met expectations?
Story:
Kumari (Hebbah), a model working in ads and films, is a bold girl who comes to Hyderabad from Mumbai and lives in a middle-class colony with her ailing grandfather.
The local boy Siddhu (Raj Tharun), who aspires to settle in Singapore as chef, meets her accidentally one night. On the very first meet, she proposes him and kisses him.
Siddhu lives with his mother as his father left her for another woman. In the beginning, Siddhu likes Kumari’s boldness but due to his three friends who are rowdies and also petty thieves, he doubts Kumari’s character.
A girl who is model and bold can be virgin, can she not have romantic past with others, he starts doubting. Further, she rejects his love saying he has not matured enough to love her. What happens then? How does Siddhu cope with this?
Artistes’ Performances:
Raj Tharun who has already proved his acting skills in his last two movies comes up with another good performance.
But the film belongs to Kumari played by Hebbah Patel, she is very bold in appearance and also has good acting skills. As mischievous girl with modern outlook, Hebbah gives her best.
Hema as middleclass mother has done neat job. Among the bad boys, Noel gets noticed.
Technical Excellence:
Rathnavelu’s terrific cinematography and Devi Sri Prasad’s trendy music are the major assets to the movie. Rathnavelu has filmed the story so beautifully.
Devi Sri Prasad’s songs as well as the small musical bit that is used through out the movie are good. Art work, editing and production values are competent.

Analysis:
Sukumar, the writer, has always picked up unusual storylines that are quite different from the regular setup. Though he has not directed this movie, as writer of the movie he does the same – taking up a bold concept. The story as well as the screenplay is quite different from the regular style with very bold content.
The movie questions the very attitude of a girl being judged on her dressing and her free-mingling nature. Why should a girl not have a past, past is past, love the girl for how she is behaving with you at present, says the movie’s heroine.
The hero is representative of most men who wants his lover be a ‘virgin’. Conflict of these ideologies is presented by Sukumar in his quirky and daring method, which some may digest easily and it might not go well with others.
Starting off as adult teenage love story with loads of dialogues on female body and sex, the movie slowly picks up the momentum post interval and ends up as completely different matured story. The beginning of the movie is too bold, but the reason for the heroine’s behavior is explained later as the movie progresses.
Like the title it is all about Kumari, the team has selected right girl. Hebbah has given her best. With performances, good technical values and daring content, Sukumar has presented Kumari 21F. The movie has stamp of Sukumar than the director Surya Pratap.
The story is set in a lower middle class colony of KGB and the story traces the love story of a boy and girl who are residents of that colony. It also shows the various problems or twists and turns such love stories can have due to the environment that they are in and the kind of people they interact with on a daily basis. In short, apart from their feelings, they also have to deal with a lot of other influences and Sukumar’s latest story highlights this aspect.
First half is more of fun but the real content lies in the second half and the climax part is interesting but it has downsides too.
At times the movie also leaves in you in confusion as one is unable to decipher what the movie is trying to say as many contradictory statements keep coming in.
Sukumar has given some classic touches to the script that takes it to another level and makes you forget all its shortcomings. There is a sub plot of hero’s parents broken marriage that was later used for the realization of hero. That is executed superbly and no one can give a better ending than this. Sukumar has excelled as a writer in giving perfect ending to Kumari.
All in all, Kumari 21F will connect with youth and the people who like to see bold content. This attempt is quite unusual.

Apparently, with the help of a spring pin tool included with the strap, it makes it possible for you to conveniently swap back to your regular watch strap.

Sunny Deol goes bald for ‘Ghayal Once Again’
Mumbai: Sunny Deol, who is all set to return with ‘Ghayal’ sequel, had to go bald for a crucial jail sequence. It was integral to the script and for few minutes he toyed with the idea of tonsuring his head before opting for prosthetics to ensure continuity. Clover Wootton, a UK-based prosthetic and makeup artisit was roped in for the film. Though it was just a one-day shoot, the prosthetics alone took five-six hours. Apparently, he was taken aback when he saw himself in the mirror.
The scene is a crucial part in the film whn his character is under a lot of strss and mental trauma in jail and the shaving of the head is part of the treatment.
The action-packed thriller, which introduces four debutants, Shivam Patil, Rishabh Arora, Diana Khan and Aanchal Munjal, traces the journey and trials of Ajay Mehra, the aspiring boxing champ from the original, from 1990 to 2015.
Now, Brahmani Too Becomes Active In TDP!
After successfully grooming his son Nara Lokesh Naidu as his heir apparent in the Telugu Desam Party, AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu seems to be promoting even his daughter-in-law Nara Brahmani in the party gradually. To start with, Brahmani has started taking active role in the party’s welfare activities in the name of NTR Memorial Trust. Of late, she has been coming to the NTR Bhavan and taking part in the trust activities, as her husband Lokesh had done in the beginning of his political career.
On Friday, Brahmani addressed media to explain the NTR Trust’s latest initiative of starting “study centres” to provide coaching for poor students in preparing for competitive examinations, free of cost. She said the trust would open the study centres to develop skills of poor students to prepare for competitive examinations, including banking, Group-I and II.
And Brahmani was all praise for his father-in-law Chandrababu Naidu. She said the Chief Minister was the brain behind the study centre project, as he wanted to fulfill desires of late NTR, who used to worship people as god.
Girls, Need A Hit Badly!!
Currently almost all the star heroines are going through same phase. They need a massive hit to prove themselves as a lucky charms. Of course, a hit or flop is the hands of director but a hit is important to sustain career for a long time.
Hailed as Tollywood’s queen, Samantha hasn’t scored big hits these days other than films like Manam and S/o Satyamurthy in Telugu. She pinned all of her hopes on Brahmotsavam, to turn all the attention towards her. Decade old senior like Trisha is also having no hit in Telugu as Dammu and Lion are huge flops.
Cheekati Rajyam is not much of a hit for her, but Nayaki could overturn her fortunes. Tamanna’s case is quite different as Baahubali’s blockbuster success haven’t done much for her from Aagadu’s flop story. She’s waiting for Bengal Tiger to prove her charms.
Coming to younger heroine, sensation of the town, Rakul Preet Singh is recently scored another flop with Bruce Lee after the disastrous show of Kick 2. She’s having Nannaku Prematho in hand, and that should prove lucky for her.
Same is the case with Rashi Khanna, whose recent Jil and Sivam sank without a trace. Bengal Tiger success will push her as second heroine, while Supreme will be catapulting her career to new level. To sum up, all these hotties need a hit badly.
Amaravati’s first film event
Actor and MLA Balakrishna is set to conduct the first film event in Amaravati. The music launch of his upcoming film Dictator will be held in AP’s new capital on December 20.
Confirming the news, director Srivaas said, “It will be a big event and many prominent personalities will attend.” He added that they were planning to release the film on Sankranti.
“The shooting is almost complete and post-production work is going on. We are portraying Balakrishna differently in this film and I am sure that it will be a memorable one for Balakrishna’s career,” Srivaas adds. Anjali and Sonali Chauhan are the female leads of the film.
We are all lovers, says Ilaiyaraja
Music director Ilaiyaraja recently attended the music launch of the film Abbayitho Ammai starring Naga Shourya and Palak Lalwani, with the actor having only praise for the music director. Naga Shourya said that it was an honour to work with the legendary music director. “I am very small to talk about him. I am lucky that I even got to work with him this early in my career,” the actor gushed.
“Director Ramesh Varma had narrated the story long back but somehow it didn’t happen at that time. He told me that he had written the story only for me. I am always ready to do a film with Ramesh Varma,” adds the actor.
Ilaiyaraja, meanwhile, said, “Some people love money and some people love other things. I love music and we are all lovers. I can’t talk about my music as it is to be decided by the audience (if it’s good or bad).” The music director had flown in from Chennai to attend for the music launch which also saw many film celebrities present.
Venkatesh’s Fun As a Cop!
Victory Venkatesh was seen as an aggressive cop in some of the movies he enacted. However, he was seen as a police who delivers hilarious performance in ‘Super Police’ movie long ago. And now, Venkatesh is all set to reprise the role as a police again which is aimed at entertaining the audiences with super comedy.
Young director Maruthi, who is in cloud nine with the blockbuster success of his latest offing ‘Bhale Bhale Magadivoi’, will be directing this movie. The movie’s title is being contemplated as ‘Radhakrishna’. Yet, an official confirmation from the makers is awaited.
Nayantara will sport female lead of the film. The movie will roll down from January. The The production team has targeted summer season for the movie’s release. Venkatesh’s Gopala Gopala’ stood as an average grosser at the box office. Power Star Pawan Kalyan was seen as his co-star in this multi-starrer. Venkatesh is expected to deliver another blockbuster as a solo hero after ‘Drushyam’ with ‘Radhakrishna’.
