Bruce Lee Panchayati at Film Chamber
The disaster fate of Bruce Lee not seems to leave its makers anytime soon. While it’s declared as the second straight Telugu disaster in Ram Charan’s career, trade reports have it that distributors are suffering huge losses. Sold for a whopping Rs 55 Crore, the film is still struggling to reach Rs 40 Crore share. Buyers who bought theatrical rights of Bruce Lee, estimated to lose chunk of their investment in several centers.
Deterred by the film’s faring at the Box Office, buyers of Bruce Lee seem to have decided not to give up. The latest is they have camped in at the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce in Film Nagar and apparently mounting pressure on its makers to compensate their losses.
Mega camp too swiftly entered into scene and apparently assured to make it up with another film. This is perhaps stated as first time a mega film is undergoing such settlement as there is high pressure from its distributors. Meanwhile, talks are still going on between both parties. A positive outcome is expected.
Sultan Bazar, Koti Traders Feel Cheated By KCR!
Traders of Sultan Bazar and Koti in Hyderabad are furious at Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for going back on Hyderabad Metro Rail re-alignment along this stretch. The traders observed ‘bandh’ on Tuesday to protest the decision of TRS government to stick to original realignment which will result in demolition of hundreds of shops in these heritage markets dated back to Nizams period.
There is a long pending demand to change the Metro route in Sultanbazar to protect heritage markets ever since the Metro project was conceived in 2007. At that time, KCR who was leading Telangana struggle extended support to these demands and took part in agitation programmes conducted by traders against Metro Rail. Soon after KCR became CM in June 2014, traders felt very happy that Metro rail route would be realigned.
KCR too stood up to their expectations and made an announcement in the very first session of TS Legislative Assembly in June 2014 that he will not allow Metro to pass through Sultan Bazar and will be realigned. 16 months have passed since then but no one knows what happened he permitted Metro to go as per earlier plan in Sultan Bazar that too in a ‘very secret’ manner.
Traders were shocked to find Metro officials marking on roads to take up construction works during midnight every day. They are making desperate bid to meet KCR but not getting his appointment for two weeks. They want to remind KCR about his earlier statement that Metro Rail has to first pass through his body before it passes through Sultan Bazar.
Where Is Telangana Advisory Council?
Remember when KCR became Chief Minister of Telangana State on June 2, 2014, the first thing he announced was that he would constitute a State Advisory Council comprising of experts and specialists from various walks of life, such as, economics, public administration, governance, human rights, education, public health, journalism, culture and sports, etc., to advise the State Government on the issues of public importance and governance. He said that the Telangana government will function as per the directions given by the Council.
His statements then received overwhelming response from Telangana intellectuals who thought this would be a reality soon and there would be no ‘democratic CM’ in India other than KCR for taking such a decision.
Already 16 months have passed since then but no one knows about the fate of that Council till now.
Sources said KCR had quietly buried the Council even before it was born as he became habituated to running the ‘one-man show’ administration during the last 16 months and there was no need for any intellectuals to guide him in policy-making and administration.
‘Due To 240 Websites, We’re Losing 350 Cr’
Film industry has today made an appeal to IT Minister K T Rama Rao that they are losing nearly 350 crores every year due to piracy. Especially the delegation represented by senior producer Suresh Babu made sure that KTR will accept their pleas and order an action immediately.
“We’re losing nearly 350 crores revenue every year due to piracy. There are almost 240 websites that are uploading the piracy links of Telugu movies and allowing internet users to download them. Government needs to crack on these sites heavily”, said Suresh Babu, in his statement.
In the wake of movies like Baahubali and Srimanthudu getting John Doe Orders from Courts to curb piracy of those films, Suresh Babu feels that every film should be protected by Government.
Today as the delegation submitted a memo to Minister KTR, he assured of coming up with a Special Police Cell to tackle piracy issue, and also gave assurance to take action on all the websites that are in the list within 30 days.
