Nandoo Turns Baddie For Hindi-Telugu Bilingual
Actor Nandoo, who has played character roles with negative shades in films such as “Rabhasa” and “Autonagar Surya”, has landed a full-length role of a villain in a yet-untitled Telugu-Hindi bilingual.
“I’ve always wished to be part of good cinema, doing substantial roles and never quite worried about playing a hero or villain. I’m kicked about my role in this film. Rajeev Khandelwal plays my part in the Hindi version,” Nandoo told IANS.
Quoting examples of actors like Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akthar, he said: “They’re not running behind hero-centric scripts. All they want is good, strong roles. Bollywood is evolving; it’s not about heroes anymore but only about great stories”.
To be directed by debutant Navneeth, the bilingual is set to go on floors on June 24 in Mauritius.”Most of the shoot will happen there. The rest of the cast is being finalised,” he said.Kannada producer Anji Nagaraju will be bankrolling this project.
Prakash Raj Approached For Rajinikanth’s Next
Popular southern actor Prakash Raj is in talks for a pivotal role in superstar Rajinikanth’s yet-untitled 159th film, which is set to go on the floors in August in Malaysia.
“Prakash Raj sir has been approached and talks are currently going on. He’s kicked about his role. An official announcement can be expected in a week’s time,” a source from the film’s unit told IANS.
Prakash has worked with Rajinikanth only once in a brief role in the latter’s 1999 film “Padayappa”.
To be directed by Pa. Ranjith, the film is said to feature the superstar in a role of an ageing gangster.
Kalaipuli S. Thanu is producing this project, which will have music by Santosh Narayanan.
Behind The Screen: No Kissing Please
Vidya Balan who had shared a very tender kiss with Madhavan in Mani Ratnam’s Guru, apparently said no to kissing scenes with serial kisser Emraan Hashmi in Hamari Adhuri Kahani.
Says a source associated with the film, “Even the lovemaking scenes in HAK were toned down to accommodate Vidya’s concerns. No one objected to her requests and Mohit complied readily since Vidya’s image wasn’t affected by them.”
It is interesting to note that when Kareena Kapoor had to enact an intimate scene with Ajay Devgn in Satyagraha, after getting married to Saif, she too had asked the director to tone down the scene.
TRS MLA’s Deal With Lokesh Naidu?
The twists and turns involving politics in Telugu states is taking new turns with each day and in Telangana, no one needs any introduction regarding the political turmoil. Now there is an interesting bit of information coming from sources in Hyderabad. This involves Naidu’s son Lokesh.
It is known that TDP MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao from Kukatpally switched to TRS camp just two days before MLC elections. He had been dithering from a long time but finally made up his mind after a lot of consternation. He is considered quite close to Lokesh, the heir apparent of TDP.Although he is technically a TDP MLA, now for all practical reasons, he belongs to TRS.
Sources say that till the last moment, Lokesh tried to convince him to stay back and while this was successful till few weeks ago, the TDP MLA apparently said that he is moving on to TRS as he is unable to bear the pressure and threats from TRS. TDP leaders recently made it public over how Krishnarao mentioned threats for his switch over.
Usually whenever an MLA crosses over to TRS camp, they launch a tirade against Chandrababu Naidu but this MLA said even after joining TRS that he is grateful to Naidu senior and junior. It is natural for him to come forward and accuse Naidu of all wrong doing but Lokesh seems to have struck a deal with him not to foul mouth TDP leadership after joining TRS and be silent atleast to prove that he was snatched forcibly and didn’t go by his own volition.
Telangana ruled by Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana
Everyone knows that Telangana is ruled by TRS party with KCR being CM of the state. However following cash for votes scam and arrest of T-TDP firebrand leader Revanth Reddy and the subsequent leaks of audio tapes featuring AP CM Chandra Babu Naidu’s voice, war of words are flying between TDP and TRS leaders.
P Minister Palle Raghunatha Reddy, speaking to scribes launched a scathing attack on CM KCR and even dragged Governor ESL. Narasimhan. He said Telangana is ruled by Dhritarashtra and Duryodhana and compared Governor Narashiman to Dhritarashtra and KCR to Duryodhana.
He went on to add that KCR though knows the difference between dharma and adharma, is emulating Duryodhana. He added even Governor Narasimhan is turning blind eye to the atrocities of KCR like Dhritarashtra.
He even called Governor Names branding him to the former governors Ramlal and ND. Tiwari who turned blind eye to the happenings in the state then and were forced to quit.
Kajal Killing Own Career in Telugu!
After Temper, Kajal Agarwal did not have any Telugu release. She did not even have any project in hand too. However the actress is signing films in Tamil and Hindi. Currently she is romancing Ranadeep Hooda in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia for her upcoming film ‘Do Lafzon Ki Kahani’.
In Tamil her films ‘Maari’ and ‘Payum Puli’ are ready for release. It is said that Kajal herself is killing her career in Telugu. She is adamant on getting a pay cheque of 2 Crore for Telugu movies and is rejecting all the films less than that.
However Telugu producers are cautiously reject such fat remuneration for Kajal, as her prime is passed and she became a old face for the audience. Mean while Kajal is just getting around 60 Lakhs per film in Tamil and Hindi. But still she does not want to compromise on Telugu remuneration.
