Taking exact clues from his father, even Manchu Vishnu talks the same. While promoting his latest movie “Dynamite”, Vishnu revealed what’s exactly happening with Tollywood.
“Problem with Tollywood is that we’re not inventing more than a wheel. We’ve to use the wheel and then invent new vehicles, but shouldn’t struck there“, says Vishnu, citing some examples from Hollywood. “They have made Benhur, then they came up with Titanic. When Troy came, they said any war film couldn’t get much bigger.
But with 10% of Troy’s budget, they made ‘The 300’ movie“, he says, adding, “Tollywood is not being able to reproduce at least 1993’s release Jurassic Park, with Baahubali being an exception“. Vishnu felt that as Baahubali expanded both market and budget, everyone should avail its fruits.
Okay, Tollywood is not making quality films, but why is Vishnu taking Hollywood’s support to make his Kannappa movie, rather making something bigger and better with our own technicians? “To make a film like Kannappa, we need at least 100 crore rupees. I don’t have such sprawling budgets with me. To finish the film with more quality and in half of that cost, we need Hollywood support“, he avers, talking about Tanikella Bharani’s directorial venture.

What’s the use of YSRCP in Assembly?
YSRCP Chief and leader of opposition, YS Jagan, came down heavily on the AP government for its dictatorial ways in the introduction of bills in the AP Assembly. This morning, the government introduced several bills in the Assembly. Jagan even walked out of the Assembly along with his MLAs as a protest.
Lambasting the government’s actions of not giving them enough time to scrutinize the bills and suggest changes, Jagan asked the Speaker what’s the use of YSRCP participating the AP Assembly when the government does not even consider them before introducing the bills. Jagan said that the bills must be given at least two weeks before the introduction.
Jagan further said that TDP didn’t give them the bills at least until 3 days before the assembly sessions. Jagan then accused the government of bulldozing the YSRCP and said that the ruling party should not introduce the bills in haste, invite discussions and pass them in the house.
Jagan also countered the Speaker Kodela asking him how can he claim the bills are ‘passed, passed’ without even a proper discussion. Jagan then said that his party is walking out as there was no proper response from the Speaker.
Heartbreaking Pictures of a kid
Here are a few devastating photographs of a little Syrian refugee kid who has been washed up on the shores of a Turkish sea in Bodrum. The little kid, 3-year old Alyan Kurdi, is one among the 12 Syrian refugees who drowned in their attempt to cross the Greek border through the Turkish Island of Kos. These images explain the horror and the risks the refugees take to leave Syria in the wake of ISIS terror.
Adding to this tragedy, Turkish media announced that the 5-year old brother of this little boy also died in their escapade along with 10 others, when two boats they were traveling capsized in the sea. Most of these refugees were fleeing Syria in search of a better life and living standards. These images have been going viral on social media along with the hashtag, #KiyiyaVuranInsanlik (humanity washed ashore).

This Film To Make Mahesh A Star In Tamil
Superstar Mahesh Babu is one of the biggest stars in Tollywood; however he is failing to make mark in Kollywood like his contemporaries like Ram Charan, Prabhas, Allu Arjun and Pawan Kalyan. His last outing Srimanthudu, released in Tamil as Selvadhan was a decent hit there in urban centers, though it was a flop in rural areas due to lack of mass elements. Well, Mahesh Babu is expected to hit Tamil cinema strongly with one of his future ventures.
It may be recalled that, Mahesh Babu has given nod to work with Tamil star director AR Murugadoss and the film is likely to hit floors sometime next year. As per a buzz, Murugadoss will co-produce the flick in collaboration with Dil Raju. As a matter of fact, Mahesh Babu shows less interest in working with Tamil directors. He even rejected to associate with Lingusamy for a mass entertainer. SJ Surya (Nani) is the only Tamil director Mahesh Babu worked with so far. Now, the actor has changed his mind to broaden his market in Kollywood.
Moreover, AR Murugadoss is one of the top directors in Tamil and he can alone pull great openings irrespective of hero of the film. Akhil’s Target Is 100 Crores
Nearly 50 crore rupees business has happened for the debut film of Akkineni Akhil. If we have to go by this craze, his debut film “Akhil” needs to click big time to make those numbers a reality for distributors. If he has to bring 50 crores share, then the gross target is nearly 100 crores for sure. But what for this debutant is aiming at such a high slot? Let’s decode this mystery now.
King Nagarjuna has been hailed as one of the pillars of Telugu cinema alongside Chiru, Balayya and Venky after the wrapping of NTR-ANR-Krishna era. Much to anyone’s expectation, Nag never fared big and none of his latest movies touched 40-crore-mark in terms of revenues, baring Manam, which released under different circumstances.

In a way, Akhil will be making the dreams of Nagarjuna and also Chaitu come true by unveiling himself as a super-start from day one after his grand-dad ANR.
BJP Honored Lakshmi Manchu
Dynamic actress, TV host and producer from the Manchu family, Lakshmi Manchu, has bagged a rare honour. The government of India appointed the Manchu lady as the Brand Ambassador for Swachh Bharat’s Telangana chapter, PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious cleanliness campaign.
Lakshmi Manchu will be honored in this regard by the President of India in a glittering ceremony on 10th September at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Expressing her happiness over this rare honor, Lakshmi said that she has already been participating in several social causes with inspiration from PM Narendra Modi.
Lakshmi further stated that this honor has made her more responsible and that she will strive hard to make Telangana dirt free and turn it into Swachh Telangana. The Manchu girl also thanked Modi for bestowing this special honor upon her and said that she feels lucky to be honored by the President of India.
Nithin gives a chance to flop director!
Lyricist Krishna Chaitanya made his directional debut with Nara Rohit’s Rowdy Fellow. Even though the movie was a failure at box office, the movie proved that Krishna Chaitanya is a man with substance. Now it is emerging that Nithin had decided to give him a chance.
Reports say that Krishna Chaitanya managed to impress Nithin with a subject and this project is likely to go on floors after Nithin completes his next films with Trivikram Srinivas and Venu Mallidi.
Krishna Chaitanya previously penned the lyrics of superhit songs for Nithin’s Ishq and Gundejaari Gallanthayyinde. So they share good rapport since then. More details of this project are awaited!
Namitha announces Political entry!
Buxom beauty Namitha is all set to make her political entry. Recently in a media interaction in Chennai, she announced her intention to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
However she did not divulge the details of which political party she chooses but said she has offers from many parties. The actress announced that she wants to serve the people by entering politics. The actress is currently in the process of shedding extra weight he put up over the last few years.
Even though, she hails from Gujarat, Namitha enjoys very good popularity in Tamil Nadu. We will have to see if she succeeds in politics there like many film stars!
Robo-2 to be launched in December!
Our readers are aware that Sensational director Shankar is working on the script of the sequel project to his and Rajinikanth’s successful movie, Robot. Shankar had hired popular novelist and screenplay writer B.Jeymohan to help him in penning a solid story.
It is now emerging that Rajini was recently given a narration of the script and he was very much impressed with the way it is shaped out. The superstar reportedly gave a green signal to Shankar.
It is now said that the project will have its launch in December. Rajini will very soon start the shooting of his next project, Kabali directed by Ranjith Pa. The Superstar will wrap up the film before shifting on to Robot-2.
Shivam gets an audio launch date
Energetic Hero Ram’s latest offering Shivam will be having its audio launch date on September 12th. The movie unit had just returned to Hyderabad after canning two songs in Norway and Sweden. They are on track for the planned release on October 2nd as Gandhi Jayanthi Special.
The makers are planning to start the promotions with the release of the first look teaser in few days. Touted to be an out and out mass action entertainer, the movie is directed by a debutante Srinivas Reddy. The project was supposed to be for Nithin.
But it was put off after the movie was launched due to some creative differences. Raashi Khanna is romancing Ram for the first time in this film. Ram’s uncle, Sravanthi Ravi Kishore, is producing the film under his Sravanthi Movies banner. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the music.
Loafer to have high dose of Mother Sentiment!
Mega Prince Varun Tej’s Loafer is progressing at brisk pace in Goa. It is emerging that the movie will have a high dose of Mother sentiment just like the case of Ram Charan’s debut movie, Chirutha. The movie unit recently completed a 32 days long schedule in Jaisalmer of Rajasthan.
Non-stop schedules are planned for the film and the makers are planning November release for the movie. C.Kalyan who is the producer of Jyothi Lakshmi will be producing this film as well.
Disha Patani is making her Telugu debut with this film. Varun Tej’s debut film, Mukunda ended up as a dreadful experience and Varun wants to make amends for the failure with these two films – Kanche and Loafer.
Problem With Film Industry Veterans
There are this set of film industry biggies, especially in Tollywood, where they are once the celebrated super stars but now they don’t even direct, produce or act in one single movie at least in a year. But still, tinselville gives quite importance to the saying ‘Peddala maata chaddimoota’ and attentively listens to these biggies just in case if there will be any useful or though provoking point to follow and implement.
Problem with these veterans is that, they don’t have any limits, and any guidelines about what they preach, follow and practice. One blasts the song-dance routines as b-grade country side recording dances and appreciates another film of same content. They make fun of big stars but forget the fact that they are also treading in same path.
In an industry where every single green note has huge interests to be paid off, commercial factors always play key role. But these veterans change their tone while criticising others, and if they invest in a film themselves.
Also some veterans comment on lyrics, some on looks of heroes, some on heroines and others than fate of Tollywood. Still, they don’t stick to that while introducing their own family members to silver screen. Sad, but true.
