Superstar’s Brother in MLC Race
Yesteryear superstar Krishna’s brother and film producer Ghattamaneni Adi Seshagiri Rao is in race for MLC elections. Adi Seshagiri Rao will be contesting on the plank of YSR Congress. Mr Rao has been the incharge of Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat for the party.
Rao was born in Burripalem of Guntur district and has close association with Vijayawada city for over 40 years. Seshagiri Rao had opened Raj-Yuvraj theatres in Vijayawada back in 1982 and run them for over 15 years. He later opened Padmalaya Distribution Office in Gandhinagar.
Rao subseuqently turned into film producer and produced over 100 films including superhits like Mosagallaki Mosagadu, Pandanti Kapuram, Alluri Seetharama Raju, Simhasanam. He served as president of Film Federation of India, AP Film Chamber of Commerce president and president of Andhra Pradesh Film Development Corporation.
Seshagiri Rao entered into politics by joining Congress party. He worked as Convenor for AICC Cultural Committee. He also served as PCC General Secretary for 10 years. Considering his wide experience and extensive contacts in the district, Rao has been chosen for MLC seat from Vijayawada.
Ironically, Krishna’s son-in-law and brother-in-law of actor Mahesh Babu, Galla Jayadev is an active member of TDP and presently sitting Lok Sabha MP from Guntur.
One More Surprise For Baahubali Audio
It is only getting bigger and better for Baahubali with each passingbday. Even before its release, the most eagerly awaited epic is creating all the right noise in its run up to the audio launch. Yesterday, it was announced that the audio launch live telecast rights have been sold for a whopping 1 crore. Not stopping here, here’s yet another surprise.
Just a while ago, Rajamouli announced that his ‘Eega’ will bebanchoring Baahubali’s audio launch event on the 31st of this month. This immediately got everyone excited and some fans thought that Jakkanna will again follow the Eega audio launch format in which comedian Venu was dressed as an Eega and made a splash during the event.
However, Jakkanna quickly revealed that actor Nani, who acted as Eega in the 2012 blockbuster, will be the anchor during Baahubali audio launch. This is indeed an innovative thought since the routine audio launches and other events anchored by popular anchors are getting monotonous. Looks like the surprises galore will never cease until the film’s release on 10th July.
Actress Hema Explains Mahesh’s Naughtiness
Superstar Mahesh Babu is known for his quite nature, plain talks and upright opinions whenever he is seen at public events. But what’s our Dookudu star when he is shooting for movies? Hema says, “Mahesh always pulls the leg of his co-stars with his sense of humour. During the making of both Murari and Athadu, I had some great experiences with him”. Sharing an incident from the location of Athadu, she explained how Mahesh Babu called her “Anjaneyudu” and then he made fun of her sleeping habit.
For one particular scene in Athadu, Brahmanandam actually hurls a shoe at Hema, and that scene got edited out from the final cut. While filming that scene, the shoe has actually hurt Hema on her mouth and her lips got swollen. To maker her laugh, Mahesh joked on Hema this way: “Krishna Vamsi’s Sri Anjaneyam shooting is going on nearby; they need an Anjaneyudu there, let’s send Hema there, she will be apt”, making a reference to her swollen lips.
Later when Hema was found sleeping on the sets of Athadu during late night shootings, everyone used to wonder. But one day she hasn’t slept and then Mahesh is heard saying, “Hema akka will sleep now, arrange the cot and bonfire”, quipping on her habits.
All these incidents explains how naughty Mahesh Babu is on his movie’s sets. Presently the unit of Koratala Siva’s movie is having such a grand gala time with the Superstar. On May 31st, first look of this film will be unveiled.
FIR Against Sunny Leone And Google CEO
Call it irony, but Sunny Leone’s popularity is relentlessly causing her all the damage. After a string of police complaints on the charges of obscenity, Sunny Leone faces yet another police case in which an FIR has also been registered against her for excessive obscenity on the internet. In a funny yet trivial coincidence, even Larry Page, the CEO of the popular internet search engine Google, found his name in the FIR.
Getting into the details, Arinjay Jain, a man from Jaipur, Rajasthan, subscribed to a popular Bollywood magazine. Apparently, the magazine published obscene photographs of Sunny Leone and Jain also found a link to Sunny’s erotic pictures on the internet. When Jain searched for the link of search engine giant Google, he found numerous obscene images of the actress.
This prompted Arinjay to lodge a complaint at an Ajmer police station on the charges of obscenity against Sunny and also the Google’s CEO along with the magazine editor. The police have booked a case on section 292 (sale of obscene books) and for indecent representation ofwomen and the IT act.
Gabbar Singh’s lovely plan to spend time with kids
It’s official and almost confirmed this time. According to close sources of the film’s unit, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s much delayed film Gabbar Singh 2 will finally have its first schedule kick started on 29th May. Interestingly, Pawan chose to shoot the first schedule in a village near Pune. Everyone knows that Pawan’s ex-wife Renu Desai lives in Pune with their children Akira and aadya.
May end to mid June being summer holidays, Pawan can have some quality time to spend with his children before they go back to their academics. Usually, Pawan either flies down to Pune or the children themselves come down to Hyderabad to meet their doting dad on special occasions like birthdays or long weekends.
On the other hand, the million dollar mystery of whether Pawan will retain his thick beard for a special sequence in the film still remains. Needless to say, the fans are highly excited to know about the shooting details of this most awaited film. Anisha Ambrose, the Vizag girl who made her debut with Alias Janaki, is the film’s heroine and Bobby of Ravi Teja’s Power fame is the director.
‘Zeroes Cannot See Beyond Zero’
HYDERABAD: Launching a counter offensive against Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi for giving the Modi government “zero out of 10” for handling farmers’ issues, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu said “zeroes cannot see beyond zero”.
“The entire world is hailing PM Modi as a great leader, a man of action. GDP rate has gone up, inflation is reduced, and you say zero. Zeroes cannot see beyond zero. Zeroes have no ability to acknowledge heroes,” he said.
When asked about Rahul Gandhi’s new-found aggression following his return from a 56-day sabbatical, Mr Naidu said the government was “least worried”.
“Rahul has been in politics for 11 years. What has happened? Congress party lost eight states. (It) lost even position of the recognized opposition. They are trying to replace their failures by aggressive words, by making cheap allegations against the government at times,” Mr Naidu said.
Forced to refer the land bill to a joint Parliamentary committee by the Congress-led Opposition, Mr Naidu said that the government was open to bringing in fresh changes in it provided suggestions were wise and did not alter the basic purpose of the legislation.
“Yes, I am open to changes provided suggestions are made with correct intentions and wisdom. I have made nine amendments. Secondly, if there is a meaningful suggestion, let it be considered without altering the basic purpose of the Act,” he told PTI.
Mr Naidu said that the steps taken by the Narendra Modi government for a corruption-free administration, taming inflation, financial inclusion, enhanced focus on social security, pro-active foreign policy, cooperative federalism had replaced the “atmosphere of despair” with one of “hope and enthusiasm”.
He identified agriculture, irrigation, insurance and bringing down interest rates as part of the government’s agenda for its second year in office. The Modi government completes one year in office on Tuesday.
The senior BJP leader said, “People must understand that the Modi government has inherited issues like Naxalism, cross-border terrorism, a derailed economy and a policy paralysis.”
“Within no time we have made a turnaround,” he claimed.
Mr Naidu, however, identified high expectations from the NDA government as a major challenge.
“The major challenge before us is that expectations of the people are very high. They are expecting so much. They have that confidence in PM Modi. They have given that mandate after 30 years. We need to live up to the expectations of the people in each and every sector,” he said.
Mr Naidu noted that a lack of majority in the Rajya Sabha posed another big challenge to the government as it resulted in the Congress blocking important legislations like the Goods and Services Tax, a measure its own government had initiated.
“…for example, GST. They (Congress) initiated it. They blocked it as well. Real estate bill, they initiated it, they have blocked it now. But, by our persuasion and by creating enough public opinion (in favour of the legislations), I am sure that we will get these bills passed in Rajya Sabha as well,” he said.
Trashing Rahul Gandhi’s charge that the NDA government was encouraging “crony capitalism”, Mr Naidu hit back, saying it was evident in coal blocks and 2G spectrum allocations undertaken by the UPA government.
“What is crony capitalism? Crony capitalism was evident in coal allocation without tendering. Rs. 1.84 lakh crore was looted in favour of crony capitalists. Then, crony capitalism was evident in 2G spectrum, where lakhs of crores of rupees have been looted.
“Ministers had to go to jail, industrialists had to face criminal action. IAS officers had to go to jail. That was crony capitalism,” he said.
“Congress have, for all these years, practiced only one thing. Words for the poor and deeds for the rich. That is the hallmark of the Congress. That is how all these crony capitalists have come to this level,” the minister said.
Mr Naidu parried a quesition about whether big ticket schemes will be announced to mark the first anniversary of the Modi government, but said ‘Kisan Channel’, a dedicated channel for farmers on Doordarshan, will be launched on May 26. (PTI)
Continuing Heat Wave Kills Nearly 370 in Andhra, Telangana
At least 145 people have died due to intense heat wave in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana since yesterday. The total number of death reported in the two states so far is at 368.
In Andhra Pradesh, 87 deaths were reported since yesterday, taking the toll to 182 from 95. 57 people died in Prakasam, the maximum in any district, the state disaster management officials have said, adding that the report from other districts are being compiled. The figure pertains to the period from May 18 till this evening.
Telangana reported 58 more deaths in the last 14 hours, taking the toll to 186 from 128 in 10 districts, a senior official of state disaster management department told the Press Trust of India. 55 people have died in Nalgonda district followed by 43 in Khammam district and 23 in Mahabubnagar district, the official said, adding that the figure is from April 15 till date.
In Hyderabad, two persons have died due to the extreme weather.
According to India Meteorological department, severe heatwave conditions are expected to continue till Monday in both these states.
Survey on Corruption comes with shocking truths
Corruption is rampant in India and people are used to it cursing their luck. In a recent survey conducted by National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER) along with National Institute of Public Finance & Policy and National Institute of Financial Management, the estimates of blackmoney and the bribes given by individuals are found.
It cameout that people in Lucknow, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune along with rural areas paid maximum amounts as bribes to get their work done. On an average Rs 18000 was paid for transfers and jobs and Rs 600 for traffic police.
In Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, along with other 15 states, private contractors paid on an average 9% of project cost as bribe. Owners of roadside vends paid Rs 1000 per month as bribe. The suvery was conducted in Delhi, Noida, Lucknow, Patna and Hyderabad.
Blackmoney generated is invested in ral estage, gold and jewellery or statshed abroad. Lawmakers say corruption can be curbed only when this is stopped.
