The Other Reason For Preferring Bollywood!
Bollywood is the ultimate destination for any actress in the country. Even heroines who are well ensconced in the regional industries vie for opportunities there.
The reason on the face of it is quite simple. A Bollywood role would mean more recognition and better remuneration. That is one side of the equation.
Behind the scenes, the benefits of a Bollywood role is that heroines get more exposure to the who’s who of not just Bollywood but top-notch industrialists, politicians etc.
Needless to say, socializing with them would yield benefits far more than what they can earn from acting in movies alone.
In short, for those who believe in making hay as the sun shines, Bollywood is an excellent opportunity and not just for acting reasons alone.
Tollywood Seniors Promote ‘Uttama Villain’
With the simultaneous release of ‘Uttama Villain’ in both Tamil and Telugu, Kamal Haasan had to shuttle between Hyderabad and Chennai to promote the movie.
A week prior to the film’s release in Telugu, he was actively promoting the movie on all the media channels and newspapers. But post-release publicity is also equally important for a film.
And Kamal after the movie’s release in Telugu had to rush back to Chennai to promote the film there also. This left the film’s Telugu buyer, C Kalyan in a dilemma. Hence he approached the Tollywood personalities to promote his movie and they obliged.
Ads featuring the likes of Raghavendra Rao, Kodandarami Reddy, Brahmanandam and other seniors, are being shown on TV in which they have praised ‘Uttam Villain’ and Kamal’s performance especially.
Will these promotions have a positive effect on the movie’s revenues?
Salman bail plea: All eyes on Justice A. M. Thipsay
All attention is focused on Justice A. M. Thipsay of Bombay High Court before whom Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s bail plea will come up for hearing shortly after 11 a.m. here on Friday.
The hearing is crucial for the actor since it is the final working day of the high court before it goes for annual summer vacations till June 8.
Salman was found guilty and sentenced to five years in imprisonment on Wednesday by Additonal Sessions Judge D. W. Deshpande, in the September 2002 accident case in Bandra which had left one person killed and injuring four other pavement dwellers.
Shortly after the verdict, the actor moved Bombay High Court where Justice Thipsay granted him two-day interim bail on medical and other grounds.
In a sudden development, Salman’s defence team decided to field senior high court lawyer Amit Desai to represent him in the high court today (May 8).
Earlier, senior Supreme Court lawyer Harish Salve — who argued the interim bail application two days ago — was expected to appear on behalf of the actor.
However, Salman, who has been on bail since nearly 13 years, is not likely to be present in the court on Friday.
Well-known criminal lawyer J. P. Mishra said that in all such cases, the first appeal is “a matter of right” of any accused pending disposal of the appeal.
“Since Salman Khan is appealing against the Sessions Court order, getting bail will be his natural right,” Mishra told IANS.
Mishra is renowned for fighting the anti-corruption case trial of 1990s against the former Maharashtra chief minister and union minister A. R. Antulay, who died December 2014.
Last Wednesday’s interim bail had come hours after Salman was found guilty and subsequently sentenced to five years in jail, plus a fine of Rs.25,000 by Additional Sessions Judge Deshpande.
In the significant verdict, Judge Deshpande pronounced him guilty on all the prosecution charges, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder, rash and drunken driving, driving without a valid licence and other laws.
The ruling came in the 13-year-old accident case when Salman’s Toyota Land Cruiser rammed into a bakery in Bandra west in the early hours of September 28, 2002, killing one pavement dweller and injuring four others, a short distance from his sea-facing home in Galaxy Apartments.

The hotel is equipped with 262 luxurious rooms, restaurants, gardens, swimming pools, ballrooms and a huge gym.

But, the reality is that the “check-in” process is too simple and there will be no “check-out’ at all.
Test For Music Lovers On May 9th
No more it’s a test for our music directors whenever they are releasing music of a particular film, but audiences are feeling like one. These days it has become tough to find one enchanting album that cine lovers could plug into their ears. On May 9th, they have an album test, to check their luck.
Music composer SS Thaman is a darling of many when he entered the tinsel town. His heart-squeezing melodies have become a sensation among youths. Of late, Thaman has underestimated the taste of audiences and started delivering repeated tunes, stale songs and uninteresting albums. His recent composition for ‘Pandaga Chesko’ also failed to evince interest.
On May 9th, Thaman’s ‘Kick 2’ is hitting stores as the audio will be launched in a grand gala event. It’s known that ‘Kick’ is the flick that made Thaman a star-composer in Tollywood and will he repeat the same feat with the sequel? Lets hope music lovers will pass the test and get quality music as a gift.
No Samantha Magic For Karthik
It’s Jessie-Karthik magic that has excited Telugu folks when they watched ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ for the first time. Since then the role bearers Samantha and Naga Chaitanya acted together in movies like Auto Nagar Surya and Manam and the result is mixed. At that time everyone felt that if director Gowtham Menon could reunite with this hot couple, then it’s going to be a bang.
Till sometime back it is believed that Naga Chaitanya’s new film that will be launched on Friday under Gautham Menon’s direction will have Samantha in the lead role. But it looks Jesse is not on board. Yes, with biggies like Vijay, Danush and other Tamil stars’ movies in hand, how could Sam accommodate dates for Chaitu? Confirming the same, our hot heroine says that she always wished to join hands with mentor Gautham Menon and Naga Chaitanya but her dates are playing the spoilsport.
Anyway, after Ye Maya Chesave, Gautham Menon worked with Samantha in ‘Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu’ and that flick hasn’t fared well. We have to see how his reunion with Naga Chaitanya works now. Hope the duo creates magic like again!!
