The latest buzz on social media is Mahesh Babu’s proposed trip to a TANA convention and that he had charged Rs 1.5 crore for it.

While detractors questioned Mahesh’s need to cash in on his brand status, sources in Mahesh’s camp said that the actor had actually planned to give the money away to charity.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in Mahesh quoting a price to appear at the convention. And whether he chooses to use the money for personal needs or give it away to charity is also no business of the public. This is an industry that works on demand and supply basis.

But the news of all this needless discussion on his trip to TANA and his remuneration for that, reached the ears of Mahesh Babu.

Apparently, the TANA organizers in a bid to get back their investment had fixed fancy prices for Mahesh’s visit to the US.

Apparently, e-mails were being circulated to the Telugus by TANA with offers such as x dollars for a handshake with Mahesh, Y dollars for a dinner with him etc.

Fans of Mahesh in the US were deeply peeved at this crass commercialization of their star’s visit and reportedly brought this to the attention of Namrata Shirodkar.

The superstar was said to be very uncomfortable with an ordinary visit being turned into a controversy and is now having second thoughts on attending the convention.

Telugu version producer C Kalyan however stated all the issues are sorted now and the movie will be available to audiences from 6 pm show in the evening. In the first case, why did the financial issue got dragged till release date? Some say that the producers (director Linguswamy and his brother) have thought of paying all the dues on May 1st to the Corporate financiers but as it happens to be bank holiday today, and Corporates don’t accept cash or cash-bonds, say some reports.

But how come the issue got resolved by the evening? Does corporates agreed cash or did they let Kamal’s flick loose? Anyway, for now there is no news of Uttama Villain making splash from first show.

Other than Naga Chaitanya and Nani, the two romantic heroes targeting audiences with soft films, seems like rest bunch of star heroes are not interested in director Gautham Menon. With Charan too rejecting this director’s movie proposal in the end, talk has started about the possible causes behind that.

When Gautham Menon was directing Naga Chaitanya, already Mahesh Babu okayed a story narrated by the director. Though ‘Ye Maya Chesave’ is a big hit, Mahesh’s project is kept off. It was heard that Mr Menon’s realistic looking commercial ideas haven’t excited our hero. Also he’s taking huge time to wrap a flick and that affects production costs. Similarly Ram Charan is said to be waiting for him to narrate a cop-drama like Raghavan or Gharshana, but he presented him a love story. Charan has opted out of the project for Gautham Menon’s love stories being too elongated and dramatic.

Many top Tamil directors are running after Telugu biggies for dates. Filmmakers like AR Murugadoss, Linguswamy and Venkat Prabhu are requesting big Telugu stars to star in their movies. But when some of those stars gave a chance to Gautham Menon, he has truly failed to utilize it.

The newly appointed president of MAA Rajendra Prasad has said hats off to Telangana CM KCR.

He said that the efforts being put in by KCR for promoting the film industry were laudable.

Rajendra Prasad further added that though he held certain opinions prior to meeting KCR, he came out with a totally different opinion once he met him.

Saying that KCR was a lover of arts and media, Rajendra Prasad said that when a well-known director expressed fears about the future of Telugu film industry in Hyderabad, he had assured him that the industry would be where it is.

He also clarified that he did not take even one cent of land from the Telangana government.

Meanwhile, Minister Talasani Yadav said that the industry belonged to all and that no one must try to rule the industry with an iron fist.

As promised, the “Baahubali” team has started releasing posters of the characters from the film – introducing the fans to the key players of the story.

Referring to the poster released today, Director S. S. Rajamouli tweeted the following: “Every story has a single moment at its core which defines and drives the entire plot. What follows is the HEART of Baahubali.”

Rest of the characters’ posters are planned to be released across the next few weeks leading to the trailer launch on May 31st.

“Baahubali” is a two-part period drama, the first titled “Baahubali-The Beginning”, is scheduled for release this July. The project is being handled by ace director, S. S. Rajamouli and respected production house, Arka Mediaworks. The film’s cast boasts of the popular stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka and Tamannaah.

Well, ahem, this little bit of gossip has been simmering in Tollywood circles for a very, very long time now.

Though a lot has been written about and all of industry knows about it, their relationship continues to be under wraps.

The lady in the equation is an established actress and the hero, though a few films old, is yet to get a blockbuster to his credit. So, what’s new about this old piece of gossip?

Okay, here’s the dope from the sets of the young hero. Apparently, he wraps up shoots by 6 in the evening when his lady is in town. Yes, she happens to be based out of Chennai though she is in Hyderabad for shoots and of course for personal reasons.

The pattern has become so obvious with all his films that now his crew knows that his lady love is in town when he insists on pack up by 6.

Incidentally, the said actress has a house in Hyderabad and the young hero has his bachelor’s pad quite close by. So whenever she is in town, the twosome throws caution to the wind and can be spotted all over town.

And his unit members confirm that when his lady love leaves town, he turns a workaholic and does not bother about timings.

Well, in an industry that is full of friendships and relationships which can be labeled anything from cute to bizarre, this is one relationship that has been going on for quite some time now and hasn’t fizzled out as yet.
