Son Of Satyamurthy: What Are The Lessons To Be Learnt?

Share

son3

Summer’s biggest Tollywood release Son of Satyamurthy has completed three weeks run and not even a single buyer is into the safe zone yet.

The film has admittedly done better business than the talk generated on its first day. However the buyers will still lose some money because of the astronomical prices it was sold for.

Post release Trivikram confessed that the movie is some sort of an experiment. Allu Arjun said that this film is not for the audience who watch movies with their brains!

It means the makers are fully aware of the weaknesses of the film but that didn’t stop them from selling it for high prices. They could have limited the theatrical business around 45 crores range, instead they sold it for 54 crores and the movie is struggling to breakeven.

Same is the case with Gopala Gopala, which should have been sold for less than 40 crores considering its limited appeal.

Buyers will surely bet big on the films of big stars as they aren’t aware of the genre. Film Makers should make sure that the movie is sold for reasonable prices to everyone so that all parties make some profits on their respective investments.

Producers simply cash in on the combination and star value without taking the genre and limitations of the movie into consideration. Finally buyers are left wounded when producers happily smile all the way to the bank.

Ashmita Karnani, a Telugu film actress, was driving in Hyderabad earlier this week when two men on a bike allegedly harassed her, tried to block her path, and made obscene gestures.

Ms Karnani, 29, managed to film the men on her phone and then posted their pictures on her Facebook page.

She asked people to share the pictures, which included the license plate of their motorcycle. “Show them some love guys! SHARE SHARE SHARE,” she said.

More than 10,000 people obliged.

In all the pictures, the actress tagged the Hyderabad Traffic Police Facebook page.

“While returning from work today (from city centre signal-punjagutta) being harrased by these two super cool dudes ( vehicle number TS11EB3507) who were hell bent on obstructing my way, making gestures etc! Show them some love guys! Make them popular on fb.”

A Hyderabad police team then traced the men and arrested them yesterday.

Bandla: Chiru Okays Story For 150th Film

Share

chiru1

Yes, all fans of megastar Chiranjeevi can heave a sigh of relief. Though there has been a lot of talk about Chiru’s 150th film, the megastar himself has been dilly-dallying about what subject to work on and if he really wants to do a film at this point in time.

Well, so the wait is finally over and producer Bandla Ganesh has just tweeted the good news to all mega fans. Apparently, megastar has approved a story written by BVS Ravi and the movie will be directed by Puri Jagannadh.

According to Film Nagar sources, once Chiranjeevi gave his approval, Bandla Ganesh, Puri and BVS Ravi celebrated the occasion over lunch. While it is surely good news, one is yet to decipher the Bandla Ganesh link in the entire story.

Ever since talk about Chiranjeevi’s 150th movie has been out, it was said that Ram Charan would be producing the film.

Now, he could have tweeted with the love and respect he has for Chiranjeevi. But the tailpiece is that minutes after Bandla Ganesh tweeted the news, his phone has been in the switch off mode.

It is not yet clear if he got a call from the mega camp about the tweet or if he decided to switch off unable to answer the calls that started pouring in once the news was out.

Addressing a group of journalists gathered at the training program on parliamentary processes, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has revealed some unknown facts about the recent happenings. He said his tweet was the first source of information on earthquake for Nepal PM Sushil Koirala and described how the Nepal PM has conveyed the same to him over a phone conversation.

Sushil Koirala was on an official visit to Thailand, when the earthquake took place and he learnt about the disaster only with Modi’s tweet. Modi cited this example for stressing on the benefits of being connected. Prime Minister also recalled an incident that happened many years back when he was serving as the CM of Gujarat state.

“One night at around 3 AM I got a phone call from a person with whom I had lunch many years ago. He informed be about a loud explosion and suspected it to be a train accident. I was able to send the relief & rescue teams to the spot in just 20 minutes much before the railway officials came to know about the train mishap,” recollected Modi.

Modi asked the journalists to work in the interest of country and not for any particulate government. He requested the media to measure the value of news before letting it out and said that most of the country’s problems will be solved if the journalists decide to work in nation’s interest.

“I’ve always heard that Tollywood always gives immense respect for people without looking into their background whether they are a star-kid or son of a producer. It’s really true. Tollywood is just like that”, says Kabir Duhan Singh, the stylish villain who debuted on Telugu silver screen with Gopichand’s recent hit “Jil”. In the wake of some heroines claiming chauvinistic nature about Telugu industry, Kabir has something that could break the ice.

Super success of “Jil” has landed him in a galore of opportunities, as Kabir is getting ready to stretch his muscles for Ajith’s next flick under Siva’s direction. More than that, he will be seen as villain of Alludu Seenu in upcoming Bheemineni’s film, while Nara Rohit is also likely to face Kabir as the antagonist. Speaking in bits and pieces of Telugu, he says, “Right from the start, I’ve always wanted to work in south films and Jil did amazing things for me. My next release Kick 2 will also give be oxygen. Will try to dub in Telugu myself in a while”.

As people like Radhika Apte rule out Telugu industry of chauvinism it’s exciting to see guys like Kabir sticking to optimism and piercing their way into tinsel town. “Right scripts and right directors matter here, but everything else is just trash”, Kabir adds. Probably getting opportunity is no big deal, but living upto it is what makes the difference.
