Teaser of Suriya’s ‘Masss’ packs a punch
Chennai: In what promises to be a commercial entertainer, the first teaser of Suriya-starrer Tamil film “Masss”, which was released on Saturday, has packed a punch, sending the actor’s fans into a frenzy.
The teaser opens with the line – ‘You didn’t expect me to return, did you?’ – and then there’s a glimpse of Suriya in two avatars.
Said to be a hardcore actioner, “Masss” is believed to have some horror angle, which gets revealed towards the end of the teaser.
Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the movie also features Nayantara, Pranitha Subhash and Premgi Amaren in the lead roles.
The film has music by Yuvan Shankar Raja, whose score breathes energy in the teaser.
‘Avengers…’ mints Rs. 10.85 crore on opening day in India
Los Angeles: Marvel’s “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” hit theatres in India on Friday — a week before its US release — and has collected a staggering Rs. 108.5 million on it’s opening day, according to trade experts.
Featuring almost all the Marvel superheroes, the much awaited eleventh film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe — “Avengers: Age of Ultron” — is a sequel to the 2012 release “Avengers”.
According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, the figure is said to be 2.5 times the collections of “Avengers”.
“#AvengersAgeOfUltron Fri 10.85 cr. India biz… Non-holiday release… Day 1 is 2.5 times higher than #Avengers 1… AWESOME,” tweeted Adarsh.
Film trade analyst Komal Nahta tweeted: “If AvengersAgeOfUltron can open to packed houses even in a small centre of Bihar, like Hajipur, Bollywood needs to be worried very much! (sic).”
The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Cobie Smulders, Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader.
Written and directed by Joss Whedon, “Avengers: Age of Ultron” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers”, first published in 1963.
The movie, said to have released across 1500 screens in the country, saw collaborations with 50 brands in various categories. It is touted to be the highest brand association for any film in India.
Adah On Her Way Out?
When Heart Attack released, she did make a splash with her funky dressing and many thought she had a bright future in Tollywood.
But following the release of S/O Satyamurthy, the same critics have started writing off poor Adah Sharma. Though she did get to play one of the three heroines opposite Bunny, her role is very small in the film and she did not get to do much on screen. So it is being said that it would be tough for Adah to get roles in Telugu.
But Adah too seems to be clear about her place in the industry. Apparently, she is not throwing any tantrums and saying yes to second heroine, third heroine and even sister roles.
Given her curve in Telugu, talk is that she hasn’t been getting any offers from Tamil either. Though there is common opinion that she does look rather cute in her photo sessions, on screen she is a total washout.
There is one version which says that Adah is planning to try her luck in Bollywood too after completing her projects here.
What Is Pawan’s Response Now?
When Pawan Kalyan threatened to launch an agitation if the farmers in Tulluru Mandal were forced to part with their lands, the TDP response was to say that the land acquisition act would be invoked against those farmers who did not consent to the land pooling scheme.
Now the TDP is planning to acquire a further 15000 acres of agricultural land in Bhogapuram for an airport and a further 12000 acres in Krishna district for tourism development.
Does this mean that the TDP is in no way worried about Pawan Kalyan’s threat?
Does Pawan Kalyan have the guts to back his statements by really agitating against the government in support of the farmers or was he merely paying lip-service?
Looks as if the ‘Jana Sena’ is another sequel to ‘Praja Rajyam’. By the way, the TDP has extended an invitation to Pawan Kalyan to attend its Mahanadu next month.
If Pawan does that, it will be an opportune moment to merge his Party with the TDP and then start ‘Gabbar Singh 2’.
Pulla Rao’s Arrogant Reasoning
Anna Hazare might visit the capital region soon to express solidarity with the farmers. When a journalist mentioned this to agriculture minister, Prathipati Pulla Rao, he shot back, “What will Anna Hazare do by coming here after everything is over? In fact, visits by such kinds of people are lowering the land rates in those areas,” said Pulla Rao.
For starters, it shows the kind of respect Pulla Rao has for Anna Hazare. But he should remember one thing.
The name of Anna Hazare is synonymous with a clean image, a crusader against corruption. The government may have acquired the land by the time Anna arrives in Tulluru, but one word from him and the tag of corruption will stick permanently to the TDP regime.
Anna is no ordinary person. It was his agitation that was instrumental in spiraling discontent against the corruption of the UPA government and ultimately booting them out of office.
It was his agitation that gave birth to AAP and Kejriwal. That AAP and Kejriwal have just turned out to be black sheep is a whole different story.
So, if Anna speaks out against Naidu, it will be listened to by the entire nation. Pulla Rao will learn the lesson when he loses his deposit in the 2019 elections.
Each Tour Of Babu Will Cost TDP One MLA
News is that TRS has decided to pull along one MLA from TDP every time Chandra Babu Naidu tours Telangana.
It is being said that this is the latest strategy of TRS in Telangana to counter Telangana TDP.
So, as a part of this new strategy, in keeping with the forthcoming tour of Chandra Babu in Mahbubnagar, TRS has inducted Ibrahimpatnam MLA Kishan Reddy into their party say party sources.
In fact, according to a write up that appeared in an English newspaper, TRS is planning to bring in at least six MLAs in the next six months.
Already, four MLAs have bid goodbye to TDP and joined TRS and if TRS plans works out and another six MLAs join their party, then majority of ex TDP MLAs will be in TRS.
Well, the big plan is to make sure that the Telangana TDP merges with TRS in Legislative Assembly just like it happened in the case of Legislative Council.
Already, TRS has 75 MLAs in state Assembly, with TDP MLAs they will attain three-fourths majority in Assembly.
How Many Outside Of Hyderabad?
Every time that an MNC invests in and around Hyderabad, KCR promptly gets clicked with the visiting CEO and his media machine goes into overdrive on how KCR is making the vision of a ‘Bangaru Telangana’ come true.
It is high time that KCR stops taking credit for investments made in Hyderabad, for whose development, he has played no role at all.
MNC’s naturally prefer Hyderabad because the groundwork has been prepared by the previous governments.
If KCR is really attracting funds to Telangana, then he should show how many companies have signed memorandum of understandings to set up units in Telangana other than in Hyderabad. That would be a good parameter of his marketing skills.
Until then, he should stop acting high and mighty when Samsung or a Mahindra opens a new unit in Hyderabad.
