Can Ram gets his Charm Back with Pandaga ?
Energetic Hero Ram’s upcoming offering, Pandaga Chesko is in the last leg of its shooting activity. The last song of the film is currently being shot in Hyderabad. The film will then enter in to extensive post production phase. On the other side, the audio release event of the film is planned in this month itself and the film is being planned for Summer release.
Post Kandireega, Ram has three back to back failures – Endhukante Premanta, Ongole Gitta and Masala. He is eager to make a comeback with this film. Rakul Preet Singh and Sonal Chauhan are playing the female leads in this film.
Balupu fame Gopichand Malineni is wielding the megaphone for this movie. ‘Simha Producer’ Parchuri Kireeti is producing the film on his United Movies banner. Touted to be a full length entertainer, the film has music scored by Thaman. Kona Venkat has penned the dialogues. Arthur A.Wilson will be cranking the camera.
Hero Ram has been struggling for a success for long time. We have to wait and see if he gets his charm back with this flick !!
Fan’s Cycle Yatra for Pawan Kalyan !
Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s following need not be mentioned. He is undoubtedly one of the most influential film and political personalities in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. To meet Pawan Kalyan, a fan from West Bengal had resorted to an adventure.
The fan named Addanki Ravi is living Kharagpur of West Bengal. He started from Khargpur to Hyderabad by Cycle. He is cycling 50-60 Kilometers per day and is resting in the bus shelters all along his way. He recently entered Telangana and many of Pawan Kalyan fans are meeting him on his way. It is said that some of the fans associations have got this to the notice of Pawan Kalyan and the actor is likely to meet him when he is in Hyderabad.
On the other side, Pawan Kalyan is currently gearing up to start the regular shooting of his next film, Gabbar Singh-2. He also recently announced that he will fight on the behalf of the farmers in the capital area if the Land Acquisition Act in forced up on them.
Lawerence’s bad luck to hurt Naga Chaitanya!
April 17th is a superb date for small films. S/O Satyamurthy had already lost its steam at the box office and there is no competition at the box office. Small films will get good exposure to collect decent amounts. Lawerence’s Ganga which was supposed to release on Friday did not release due to the financial problems of producer Bellamkonda Suresh.
Despite the best efforts of Bellamkonda, the movie is likely to release this weekend. In such case the movie will be postponed to April 24th, the next Friday which means it will have to clash with Naga Chaitanya’s Dohchay.
Naga Chaitanya was supposed to get free run at the box office next week but will have to clash with Ganga now. Given that Kanchana-2, the Tamil version of Ganga having good talk, it will definitely hurt Naga Chaitanya. We will have to see how much the damage will be!
Lawrence saved Allu Arjun?
Stylish Star Allu Arjun’s S/O Satyamurthy suddenly lost all its pace after the first six days of its release. The film all of sudden started witnessing deficits from the seventh day. The movie was supposed to plummet further from Friday, but the last minute postponement of Lawerence’s Ganga worked in favour of S/O Satyamurthy.
Not aware of the postponement, many people who came to the watch Ganga opted for S/O Satyamurthy. Ganga is less likely to release this Weekend and may have been postponed to next Friday, in such case S/O Satyamurthy will get more breathing space at the box office.
The Allu Arjun starer made a prerelease business of 54 Crore and have to go a long way to become break-even. The 54 Crore Prerelease business is the highest in the Stylish Star’s career. It looks like a minimum loss of 9-10 Crore is on cards very easily. We hope that our estimations go wrong!
Ram Charan missed a big opportunity!
Mega Power Star Ram Charan is a minimum guarantee hero in Tollywood. Off late, even his flop films collect a minimum of 40 Crore. He is the only hero in industry who got an industry hit with his second film. However the major complaint with Charan is his lack of experimentation.
He is going on doing mass masalas which give him commercial success but not take his career to the next level and prove himself as an actor. Ram Charan got one such opportunity but he spilled it off. Maniratnam narrated Ok Bangaram story to Charan an year ago.
But Charan let it go may be due to the too soft script or due to his disbelief on out of form, Maniratnam. However people are raving about the movie and the hero, Dulquer Salman after the movie release on Friday. It is just that Ram Charan missed a big opportunity!
Actress Sukanya wins 18 Yrs old Legal Battle !
Actress Sukanya has won an 18-year old legal battle against Sun TV. A Fast Track Court on Friday, 17 April, passed a verdict and ordered the TV channel to pay ₹10,00,500 as compensation.
Sukanya had filed a case against Sun TV, editor Nakkeeran Gopal and late forest brigand Veerappan at Madras High Court in 1996. She had raised objections over some derogatory comments made by Veerappan against the actress in an interview with Gopal, and the channel for airing the interview.
“The interview footage, filmed by the reporter of a Tamil bi-weekly “Nakkeeran” was given to the TV channel as part of an agreement between the magazine and the channel,” a report on Times of India adds. She had demanded a compensation for damages done by the interview and the case was later transferred to a Fast Track Court.
Finally, after 18 years the court announced the verdict. While Gopal was acquitted, Sun TV was ordered to pay damages to Sukanya. Sukanya had acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada movies. She was a popular actress from 1991 to 1997. After her marriage failed in 2003, she returned to acting and was seen in supporting roles.
Budugu Movie Review – 2.5/5
Budugu” is psychological thriller, which is about a busy couple Pooja (Lakshmi Manchu) and Rahul (Sreedhar Rao), who admit their 10-year-old son Bunny (Prem Babu) to a boarding school. But their son is thrown out of the school for his psychological problems. How these parents struggle to get treatment for their son’s psychological disorders forms the crux of the story.
Story:
Rakesh (Sridhar Rao) and Puja (Lakshmi Manchu) is a couple and have two kids. One of the kids named Bunny (Master Prem Babu) is somewhat abnormal. He is more of an introvert and doesn’t attend school regularly. Rakesh and Puja are quite busy with their respective jobs and as a result fail to give time to the kid. When the problem doesn’t solve, they join him in a boarding school. Bunny’s behavior sets the whole school to shock. He scares the fellow students on a dark night in the restroom and also the watchman by walking upside down. The boarding school management obviously takes this seriously and send him off thinking something is wrong with him mentally. A girl in the colony dies incidentally and Bunny gets her visions. That’s why he is scared and scream during the nights. Why is this vision happening only to Bunny? What is the issue which is troubling Bunny? How does he get out of this problem- forms the rest of the plot.
Performances:
Lakshmi Manchu: She did a decent job as Puja. Usually, Lakshmi tends to get into overacting mode but this film doesn’t have it. She emoted well as a concerned mother and even fearful sequences. Her role gets full fledged in the second half and she scores full marks there.
Sridhar Rao: This small screen actor has proved his mettle on the big screen as well with good acting skills.
Prem Babu: He played a pivotal role for the film and did full justice to it. Prem did a commendable job especially in the scenes where his character behaves abnormally.
Others: The girl who acted as sister to Prem Babu did a good job. After long time, yesteryear heroine Indraja got a good role and she makes best use of it.
Technical Aspects:
The film’s music is composed by Sai Karthik and has only one song. It was composed well and suits the film’s theme lyrically as well. After a long time there is a song which suits the film’s theme as per the situation. Re-recording is quite impressive.
Cinematography and camera work is adequate for the film. Even the rest of the technical departments did their job perfectly. Most of the film is shot in one house location and that didn’t hamper the quality.
Analysis:
This is the first film for director Manmohan. He chose a different theme and executed it well. What would happen to kids if their parents neglect them? How is the psychological behavior of kids when they are alone? What are their fears? How is their mindset? What influences them?- such crucial and interesting questions were answered in this film. These aspects got the thriller and suspense touch and it was blended well.
First Half: The film starts off at a slow note but gets gripping from the moment Bunny starts behaving abnormally.
Interval Bang: It is quite thrilling with stunning introduction of the ghost.
Second Half: Most of it looks like attending a psychology class. The initial ten minutes might look boring but it has thought provoking points regarding the concern which parents should show to the changing psychological behavior of kids. The film gets more thrilling as it reaches climax.
In fact this film can be presented in a normal fashion. But the director added the thriller dimension so that people who would appreciate such films would relish it as well. It was made targeting children but the film may not appeal to them fully because of thriller elements. Moreover, most of the crucial clues in the film are given beforehand which makes people guess the suspense easily. The film would have been even more gripping if additional care was taken for screenplay. There are some repetitive and slow moments in the film which might make it little sloppy. To add to that, some editing glitches and too much of abrupt change in scenes are also there.
Verdict:
Budugu is a unique film which deals with the complex subject of child psychology and their struggles.In fact, it is like a lesson for parents. However, the big question is whether it would appeal to them or not.
Jayasudha absent at MAA counting !
Has Jayasudha predicted MAA elections result in advance? Going by media reports, we have to say that she knows who the winner is. When all the contestants are present at Film Chamber premises as the counting is going on, Jayasudha is see nowhere.
In every round of counting Rajendra Prasad has show a clear majority on Jayasudha. On behalf of her, her relative Naresh (Vijayanirmala’s son) has attended the counting event. It’s already known that the otherwise peaceful MAA election turned turbulent this time due to politics. Both Rajendra Prasad and Jayasudha are at logger heads with each as their panel members like Hema and Sivajiprasad making start accusations against each other.
Jayasudha was not just present at counting, but she isn’t touch with Media houses too. We hear that she refused to take part in live discussions. Seems like her woman-empowerment card trumped badly.
Pawan plan to keeps away his Mannerism !
Pawan Kalyan is what he is today because of some of the trend setting styles he introduced. They look innovative, attractive and original. That’s why Pawan amassed craze at a much higher level than any of his contemporary at the moment.
There were reports that Pawan Kalyan is no interested in portraying the similar mannerisms and body languages he is following from years. Any reason? Because he has donned the role of a politician in real life now through establishment of Janasena. Even earlier, Pawan happens to be a leader of Praja Rajyam Party’s Yuva Rajyam, an youth wing, but has changed nothing. So what’s that area he is looking at now to enforce a change, ask many.
Probably Pawan would not like it to flaunt his lengthy cut hair style, signature movement like hand on neck and pant-on-pant acts. Will fans stay happy if Pawan cuts out all his trademark styles and wears Khaki uniform for Gabbar Singh 2? Only time will tell.
