Balakrishna Moderates Remuneration Amid Changing Market Trends

Nandamuri Balakrishna has seen a notable rise in his remuneration over the past few years. From charging around Rs 12 crore per film earlier, his fee gradually climbed to nearly Rs 45 crore within a span of five years.
The major jump came after the success of Bhagavanth Kesari. Following this, producer Naga Vamsi reportedly offered him around Rs 28 crore for Daaku Maharaj in order to lock his dates quickly, marking one of the sharpest increases in his career.
For Akhanda 2, Balakrishna initially quoted a remuneration of Rs 45 crore and also brought his daughter Tejaswini Nandamuri on board as the presenter. However, the film reportedly faced financial challenges and delays in its release. To support the project, Balakrishna is said to have waived Rs 7 crore from his fee, bringing his final remuneration down to around Rs 37 crore.
Now, for his upcoming project with director Koratala Siva, there is no further hike in his remuneration. He is expected to stay within the Rs 35 crore range. Unlike earlier, there are also no plans for his daughter to be associated with the film as presenter.
With changing market dynamics and a slowdown in the OTT space, Balakrishna appears to have recalibrated his fee structure in line with current industry conditions.
