In recent times, the trend of item songs in Tollywood has reached a new high, with big-ticket films bringing in popular stars for special dance numbers alongside leading heroes. Director Sukumar earlier introduced a fresh face like Pooja Hegde for Rangasthalam, and later roped in Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Sreeleela for the Pushpa franchise. Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi teamed up with Mouni Roy for a special number in Vishwambhara.

Now, for Ram Charan’s upcoming film Peddi, the makers have finalized Shruti Haasan for a high-energy special song after multiple discussions.

Interestingly, remuneration for such songs has seen a sharp rise. Samantha reportedly charged a minimal fee for Pushpa at the time, while names like Disha Patani and Shraddha Kapoor were said to have quoted over ₹6 crore for Pushpa 2. Eventually, Sreeleela performed the “Kissik” track for around ₹2 crore, as per industry buzz.

Now, Shruti Haasan is reportedly taking home close to ₹3 crore for her special number with Ram Charan—significantly higher than what she earned for her earlier cameo song with Nani in Hi Nanna. As always, such pay depends on factors like the film’s scale, banner, and star power involved.

Currently, the song shoot is underway and is expected to span four days due to elaborate choreography. Some leaked visuals from the sets already showcase Shruti in a glamorous avatar, while Charan appears in a rugged, colorful look.

Peddi, which also stars Janhvi Kapoor and features music by A. R. Rahman, is slated for a June 25 release. With strong buzz around its cast, music, and scale, the film is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about releases.
