Priyanka Chopra Turns Early Criticism Into Dance Success Story

At the start of her career, Priyanka Chopra was known primarily as a Miss World winner stepping into films with striking looks and pageant fame. Like many before her—Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Sushmita Sen, and Namrata Shirodkar—Bollywood became her natural next destination. However, her early days weren’t as smooth as they might have seemed.
Priyanka once opened up about a tough experience during a shoot in South Africa when she was just 19. While filming a song choreographed by Raju Khan, she struggled with timing, expressions, and dance coordination. Frustrated, the choreographer reportedly threw down the mic and bluntly told her that coming from a pageant background wasn’t enough—she needed to learn how to dance to truly become an actress.
Though harsh, that moment became a turning point. Priyanka took the criticism seriously, worked hard on her dancing skills, and gradually transformed herself into a confident and capable performer. Over time, she not only improved significantly but also built a good rapport with Raju Khan, eventually becoming friends and collaborating on multiple projects.
Today, Priyanka is known for her versatility—handling dance, action, and performance-driven roles with ease. With projects like The Bluff and global ventures, she continues to evolve as an artist. There is now growing curiosity about whether she might appear alongside Mahesh Babu in S. S. Rajamouli’s much-anticipated upcoming film, often referred to as the Varanasi-based project.
Given Rajamouli’s reputation for perfection—especially in crafting memorable dance sequences like Naatu Naatu—fans are eager to see if Priyanka will once again showcase her refined dancing skills for Telugu audiences.
