Assembly Drama: No criticism of BJP
The AP assembly witnessed a strange scenario with both the TDP and YSRCP trading charges against each other on ‘Hudhud’ relief works, but no mention seems to have been made of the BJP.
While, the TDP requested around Rs 22000 crore, the Center has released only Rs 680 crore to date. While no blame was apportioned to the BJP for the tardy relief amount sanctioned, deputy chief minister, Chinna Rajappa moved a resolution thanking everyone for their contribution to the relief works post-Hudhud.
While the TDP understandably did not point a finger at BJP as it is its partner, the YSRCP apparently is also keen on good ties with the BJP and therefore stayed silent. Had it been the Congress government at the Center, would Naidu &Co have remained silent?
Shruti’s double Treat Spices Up Okkadu
We all know that super hit Telugu movie ‘Okkadu’ is getting remade in Hindi as ‘Tevar’. As betterment happens with some remakes, this Bollywood bonanza featuring Arjun Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha in the leads is looking quite dashing and more intense than the original. And here comes Shruti Haasan’s fete detat for the movie.
Initially Shruti was supposed to sing a song for the flick. But unlike in Aagadu where she sang and danced for same item number, here in Tevar she has rendered a beautiful melody that sent everyone puzzling. ‘Joganiya’ is the song she has sung, and this heart touch melody is so emotional and hair rising that it became instant chart buster.
And coming to her dance stint, she has shaken a leg for the song ‘Madamiyan’ where she showcased the best of her curves and dancing sills. Surely, she spiced up the Okkadu remake with her titillating presence.
Meet TRS Foreign Minister in Lok Sabha!
She may have begun her political career in her father’s shadow pledging her allegiance to the statehood cause of Telangana and has become an MP for the first time during recent elections from Nizamabad. However, when it comes to Parliament, Kavitha is proving to be a future contender for foreign minister.
After her initial statement saying Kashmir and Hyderabad were forcibly taken into India, she attracted a lot of ire. Again whenever she spoke it was only about international issues and today she was seen in Lok Sabha advising PM Modi that Pakistan is not doing the right thing by releasing Mumbai attack mastermind Lakhvi.
Given her strong grip on English, other TRS MP’s who cannot speak the language fluently had high hopes on her to raise T-issues but Kavitha is only busy with international debates! Let us see if Kavitha changes her approach.

Naidu Implementing Kiran GO!
Leader of Opposition in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday found fault with the Chandrababu Naidu government for implementing the same GO No 101 which was issued during previous government in the undivided Andhra Pradesh on SC/ST welfare schemes.
Raising the issue in the State Assembly, Jagan ridiculed that Chandrababu Naidu was implementing a false GO 101 which was issued by the then Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy. This GO will not serve the purpose as selection committee is being headed by OCs to select beneficiaries of SC and ST welfare schemes. This is totally a wrong practice, he said.
Jagan suggested to the government to adopt the previous old policy of selecting the beneficiaries through SC and ST Corporations in coordination with Bankers and other officials concerned. Some vested interests and middlemen colluded to loot the beneficiaries and government funds, he alleged. He expressed concern that the government allowed the system to collapse, and injustice being meted out to the eligible persons.
Those who had obtained loans are put to untold misery as middlemen were coming in the way of selecting actual beneficiaries of the government schemes, he charged. The Opposition leader suggested that the government should refrain from playing with the lives of the people, but lend them a helping hand.
Release Problems For Shankar’s ‘I’ In Telugu
Ace director Shankar’s most anticipated film ‘I’ is all set for a grand release across Tamil Nadu and in other countries for this Pongal. However, Telugu version of ‘I’ is likely to be delayed. According to our reports, Tollywood producers had a heated discussion at film chamber regarding the release of ‘I’ along with other Telugu films.
There is a specific rule which states that dubbing movies are not allowed to release in the festive seasons, especially when there are straight films that are ready for release. Taking this rule into consideration, Tollywood producers are demanding that the chamber shouldn’t allow ‘I’ to be released for this Sankranti.
On the other hand, there is another group, which bought the distribution rights of ‘I’ across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. They are stating that only ‘Gopala Gopala’ will be releasing for this Sankranti and there will be a gap of 5 days between that film and ‘I’. Gunasekhar’s ‘Rudhramadevi’ and NTR’s ’Temper’ have already announced that they won’t arrive for Sankranti.
So, these distributors are requesting the concerned people to give them a green signal for the release. As of now, there is no clarity about the release of ‘I’ in Telugu for Sankranti.

History repeated in Andhra Pradesh Assembly
A rare incident that occurred in the AP Assembly today! It is well aware that several combinations, brothers, father and son, wife and husband used to become MLAs. However, the rare incident is that father and daughter getting elected to the Assembly. Moreover, both the father and daughter got elected to the same Assembly and at the same time.
With the recent by-elections that were held to Allagadda of Kurnool district, Akhila Priya, daughter of Bhuma Nagireddy was a special attraction to the House (AP Assembly). The reason is that these are the first Assembly sessions after she got elected. After the first day, which was passed off with the condolence resolutions, her father Bhuma Nagireddy brought to the Assembly sessions, and introduced to all the MLAs in the Assembly.
He introduced her to all the ministers, before the start of question hour. Later, she was taken to the TDP and BJP members. After the Assembly got postponed, Bhuma Nagireddy took his daughter to other MLAs. Here the interesting point to note her is that, a few decades earlier, there is another combination of father and daughter in the combined Andhra Pradesh Assembly.
Moreover, that combination is also from the Bhuma family only. The late Bhuma Sobha Nagireddy got elected to the combined state assembly. The senior MLA of TD government then, SV Subba Reddy introduced to all the members of Assembly and also to the ministers.
